I went 2 night in a row and was impressed by both meals. Ribs were very good and the side of hash browns with fried onions and cheese were excellent. I also had the twin lobster tails with the hash browns again for 30$, which was one of the best deals I've had in a while. I would highly recommended if you're in the Neillsville area.

The food was so good! seated quickly, ordered in a timely matter and our food came out in a normal amount of time. Everything was hot and fresh! I had Cesar salad, French onion soup, rib eye, scallops, and lobster tail. Husband had rib eye, lobster, baked potato and carrots Everything had flavor and was cooked perfectly and not over cooked at all! It's hard for me to eat in neillsville as everywhere you go, it's all deep fried bar food.. not this time. It was nice to eat real food. The ambiance is great too. We were seated in the bar area, not loud but it was great not to be seated alone too! Service was wonderful, loved our waitress! The prices were great and was worth it!! It was all fabulous, coming from me, a California snob who has overly high expectations of food! I'll be back!! Already looking forward to it!!

This place is definitely not closed. It's the only hotel option in town. The property is showing…read moreit's age, but it wasn't as bad as some reviews led me to believe. The building itself was definitely aging, but it didn't look bad. The lobby was functional, but not inviting. There was a small lounge and the couch cushions were ripped. Small detail, but small details add up to paint an overall impression. There never seemed to be anyone at the desk. You had to pick up a phone to get someone to come down. I guess this makes sense considering it's a small town and it didn't really bother us, but it led to the cold feeling that the lobby had. It also wasn't lit that well. A lobby should feel inviting and this lobby did not feel inviting. Check in was not an issue. The walk to the room was a little troubling. Carpeting was dingy and worn on the stairs (there is no elevator). Carpeting was also loose in the hallway. The hall, like the lobby, felt kind of cold and uninviting. It was like walking down the hallway in a lower rent apartment building. The room itself was okay. It was worn, but not dirty. The bathroom was clean. I didn't feel grossed out using it. I was actually impressed how clean the room appeared to be. The fixtures were aged, but not worn. The room itself had everything you needed: coffee maker, fridge, and so on, but it had a sort of jumbled feel to it. It felt like everything had been pieced together over time. Beds also felt worn, but they were clean. Wi-Fi worked well, as did the television. The continental breakfast was the biggest bummer. It felt like the least amount of effort required to be able to claim they had breakfast: 2 cereal dispensers, a waffle iron, a couple pieces of bread and random bagels, and some Little Debbie snacks (less than a box). My son and I had cereal and the milk tasted off. I really am not picky about such things, but neither one of us could finish our bowls. This hotel is okay if you're just looking for a place to spend the night. It is not a destination. It's just a room with very few frills. The cost is probably a bit high for what you get, but when you're the only game in town you can charge more. I would think that if another hotel opened nearby, such as a Cobblestone Inn, that this place would go under. It likely survives because there are no other options. All this said, the room was clean and we got a good night's sleep.

The Quality Inn: A Case Study in Thermodynamic Failure…read more * The Atmospheric Conditions: The pool area isn't just a leisure space; it's a self-contained weather system where the ventilation has been "optimized" for profit, resulting in indoor glaciers that would make a National Geographic photographer weep. The poor air circulation in addition to saving money, is no doubt generating revenue for pharmaceutical companies treating all of the mold allergies. * The Biological Indicators: That signature "clean pool" smell is actually the olfactory evidence of a thousand local toddlers using the facility as a public latrine--a chemical reaction of chloramines that serves as a warning to anyone with an intact immune system. At $7 a local kid for a whizpool, it's surely a profit center, and you can certainly smell the difference. * The Culinary Experience: Breakfast consists of "food-like substances," specifically chunks of microwaved egg that appear to be weeping for their own existence and pork sausages swimming in a reservoir of grease and existential dread. * The Lobby Ambience: The computer station is guarded by a territorial child-in-residence who has seemingly aged into the upholstery over the last two years, ensuring that "tacky" remains the primary aesthetic. * The "Coffee": A beverage so weak and feeble it qualifies as a crime against humanity. It isn't brewed coffee in the way that we've all come to expect; it's a hot, wet insult served in a cup, located--fittingly--in a completely different room to distance itself from the concept of actual food. If you ever find someone whose teeth are on fire, and you are fresh out of urine, this coffee is a great substitute...

We brought our older kids plus our little kids and dogs, and were in town for a large sporting event, so we had lots of gear, etc. Pros: The biggest pro: Customer service is 10/10, with hands-on ownership! We had some special circumstances and definitely troubled them with questions and needs, and they were amazingly accommodating. It also snowed overnight and the snow was cleared in a reasonable amount of time. - Pet friendly - Affordable - The heater worked very well. We are still acclimating to Wisconsin winter weather, and I was so glad when the room wasn't drafty despite sleeping next to the window. - Good proximity to everything you need. Only minutes from Walmart and seconds from several other places. Cons: - The building is on the older side, so if you have asthma or respiratory issues I do not recommend you stay here. However, nothing was broken, all the fixtures worked fine and we all had hot water. - The rooms are on the smaller side, but it was perfectly sufficient for our needs and it's a cozy place. Overall I would stay here again for the convenience and accommodating customer service, and for being family & pet friendly!

In a pinch I would stay again. Great staff is wonderful but rooms keep people coming back.
