You do get the accompanying road noise, but it is not too bad. Just city street traffic and not freeway or highway noise. The rooms have been nicely remodeled from whatever road shack this place was before. Each room has a fridge which is always a big plus. Each room also has a record player which I thought was kind of cool. Small but hip collection of records in the lobby to choose from. You can take up to three out at a time. The attached bar, The Lakely, is decent. Jazz band playing when I was there. Not a great beer selection. Was a little bit disappointed that the drink token I got when I checked in was for BOGO and not a freebie. That is not how I am accustomed to drink tokens working. I prefer The Lismore hotel which is a couple blocks away for its quietness. However, I would not object to staying here again.

For sure would stay again, but would try to book in the main building. My only thing with my room in the flats/unattached building, at least in the late summer/early fall, is that it was pretty musty in the room. They had damp rid packets out but they can only do so much. It was fine for one night but not the greatest vibe- probably not as big of a factor in the main building rooms though.

My boss's father recently passed away. I had know his father for several years. He was a kind and good man, and i was saddened by his passing. As i knew him and as I felt for my boss going through this terrible ordeal, i looked online for flower shops near the funeral home. I went through all the websites of the local flower shops, and decided to place an order at May's. The flower arrangements looked to be the nicest and I decided to place the order. I had delivered the Premium Wondrous Life Bouquet to be delivered on the day of the viewing. As I was not able to attend as I live in another state, I hoped the flowers would be beautiful. The day after the funeral, my boss thanked me for the flowers. He said they were very beautiful. That they were so nice, it was at the front near his dad. I was happy to hear that. Although I never saw the flowers myself, from what i was told May's did a fantastic job. I would, therefore, recommend their services if you need an arrangement of flowers in the area.

This hotel is a bit southwest of downtown and next door to the new UW-EC event center. Overall a good location with a number of restaurants in the area. The free breakfast was typical for hotels of this type. A good experience!

I've only ever stayed in a hotel this new one other time, and wow, it is refreshing. Everything is spotless. The ice machine creates super clean ice. The bathrooms are a dream. Only time will tell if their operations team is able to maintain it, but they are starting with a clean slate and all of the modern amenities. It's a typical Marriott property with fitness center, pool, and continental breakfast. I was put in an "assessable" room on the 2nd floor because that is all they had left, so I don't know what the other rooms look like. However, my room was very spacious with 2 queen beds, a very nice pullout, and a spacious bathroom (with extra grab bars). The mini fridge is kinda small but I'm told the standard rooms have slightly larger mini fridges. The hallways are well lit and shaped with alcoves for each set of a few rooms, that makes them more appealing than a standard long hallway. My only complaint about the design of the room is that that TV is positioned in such a way that it is viewable from one of the queen beds and the sofa. You can see it from the second queen bed but it isn't the best viewing angle. Not a big deal, but just me being super critical. This is only an issue because the room is so large compared to a standard guest room at an economy hotel. If I was the designer, I couldn't have designed it any better. Breakfast is pretty simple but sufficient. 3 hot options (scrambled eggs, little quiche, bacon), oatmeal with toppings, cereal, plain bagel, blueberry bagel, English muffins, yogurt, juice, and coffee. The bacon was thin but kinda tough. They had a good selection of sauces (hot sauce, etc) for the eggs. Notable to mention the lack of self serve waffle maker that you see in many hotels. They aren't winning any awards with the breakfast but it gets the job done. SpringHill Suites has upped their game. I would gladly stay at hotels like this, even over 4 star fancy hotels with valet and doormen. I think for the average traveler/family, this hotel checks all the boxes and provides an incredible value (I paid about $106 a night for a night). Not sure if their rates will go up as the hotel becomes more well known, but I hope not. 10/10 would recommend.

The family who run the place are friendly and eager to make your stay a pleasant one. This is one reason I give four stars for a property which otherwise would rate three. The rooms have cable TV (basic: CNN and TBS, but no premium channels), and a ceiling fan. There is central heat, but no air-conditioning that I could see. My bathroom had a shower stall but no tub. Towels about like Motel 6, except in addition to the normal white ones, I found a burgundy colored washcloth and face towel. A sign in the bathroom read: "Burgundy Towels for -Cosmetic removal -Extra soil. Thank you." Standard motel soaps; no shampoo. My room was small, with a double bed and a twin daybed. I had enough room, and a couple would do OK. I can't quite see it working for three unless they take turns stepping out or relaxing in bed while others move about. My room was not wheelchair accessible: this is an older property (likely pre-ADA grandfathered). On balance, I felt that the price I paid was a good value for what I got. The essentials covered, here is what wins the fourth star: As I said, the innkeepers are friendly and welcoming. They've taken some time and thought to create a cheerful décor that goes a long way toward making a small room feel cozy rather than cramped. They'll give you good advice on where to eat and where to find things. The office is in a beautiful historic 1891 Victorian house (the rest of which is the family's home). While many roadside inns provide chintzy please-give-us-free-advertising postcards, in my room at the Heritage Court I found postcards with beautiful pen-and-ink renderings of the motel and the historic house. Classy. If you need basic, reasonably-priced accommodation that is a bit friendlier and has more personality than a national chain, the Heritage Court Motel of Thorp is the place to stay.

Check-in was a little quirky with a bell on the desk and late-night marketing questions I don't think Marriott needs to ask, but overall the process was efficient. The real standout here is breakfast--far above the standard Residence Inn offering. Five solid hot options, tortillas, eggs, potatoes, meats, bagels, yogurt, all professionally prepared, and an excellent attendant who keeps everything on point. I ended up here by accident due to a project mix-up, but it turned out to be a great stay at a fair rate. This is a well-run Residence Inn and absolutely worth the money.
