Florian Gardens is a breathtaking venue inside and out. I was just in a winter wedding there this past weekend and the snow covered gardens just added to the stunning setting. I would have given a five star rating if it was solely on the venue because it truly is gorgeous. There were a few things, however, that negatively effected our experience there. I would say the biggest issue would be the wedding planners lack of availability the day of the wedding. At rehearsal the night before she was adamant that if anyone needed anything on the wedding day to see her and not the bride or groom. Unfortunately her words never followed through in action. Instead of being available and helping, The wedding planner was in her office with her door closed meeting with couples. She was showing them the venue, which I understand it's nice to see the venue set up for a wedding but it wasn't just a walk through. She would meet with them in her office for lengthly amount of time. The wedding planner was in her office from 10am-230pm and when we asked for her, multiple times, we were told "she is in a meeting." After many times of being brushed off, we knocked on her door ourselves because the wedding parties beer and pretzels were never served to us. When she did bring in the beer we asked if she would take a group shot of the bridesmaids and bride, her response "yeah but it needs to be quick because I'm in middle of a meeting." Now - when you spend the kind of money needed to have your wedding at Florian gardens, the attention and help of the wedding planner on the day of the wedding is fully expected. The help we got from her the day of the wedding consisted of her simply coordinating the wedding party down the isle and nothing else. I will say, she was professional and held it together as I was not afraid to let her know how disappointed we were; but never did we get an apology for her lack of presence. The next thing was the bartenders - there were two or three bartenders and we heard from multiple guest that the charges for drinks were not consistent. One bartender would charge one price, the next would charge a different price for the exact same drink. This happened multiple times to multiple people. Then, when the father of the bride went to pay the tab at the end of the night he asked if the tip was included in the hefty bill and was told no; so he gave a 20% tip of a couple thousand dollar bill and notice on the receipt the next day a 20% tip was already including and so my dad pretty much tipped 40% of the bill. Lastly, there is costs associated with every single thing you'll need for your wedding there; if they lift a finger you open your wallet... so be aware of that before booking. Im assuming the most we will receive from this review will be a written apology from FG but unfortunately we will never be able to go back in time to get that day back. I do hope though that this review helps prevent another person from having the same experience we did. Thank you. read more
