They hit all the marks that…read morewere important to us in our wedding planning process (ie reasonable price per plate, flexible to our needs, quick response time, great patient attitude, and very professional and knowledgeable.) We worked with Olmstead Catering for our 250 person wedding. Nothing against beef tips and chicken, but we have had that a little too often at weddings so we knew we wanted something different. They created an Italian or German menu that would fit the two-meat/plate cost; other caterers would up charge any change to the specific menus they have. We were able to taste, pick and adjust a menu perfect for us. We picked the German menu and we received so many compliments from our guests! Great food and a fun time is something that guests remember from weddings; Olmstead Catering gave us that for sure! Thanks!

Bresina's Carry Out - Bacon cheeseburger

My family and I were passing though Chippewa Falls close to lunch time and I wanted to try a local…read moreplace, not the usual fast food. I found Bresina's Carryout while searching Yelp and saw the good reviews, but they were all 2+ years old and there were no pictures of the food. I found a menu picture online and thought we'd give them a try. We ordered a bacon cheeseburger, a cheeseburger, chicken strips, the chicken strip dinner (comes with fries and coleslaw), a four piece fish (comes with fries), and cheese curds. The fries were bland, but not inedible. They had some salt, but ketchup was needed. The cheeseburger also could have used seasoning as, straight out of the box of burgers, it's not pre-seasoned. Again, not inedible. The bacon on the bacon cheeseburger looked like it was thick cut and cooked well. The fish was hand breaded, which I appreciated. The breading could've used some seasoning and/or salt (I was sensing a theme at this point). At least the pieces were decent sized. The standouts of the meal were the cheese curds and chicken strips. The curds had a nice crunchy breading and the strips reminded me of the kind Dairy Queen serves with flakes of pepper in the breading. Both were out of a frozen bag and not breaded in house, but that's ok cause they were great. The two guys making the food were friendly and the prices were reasonable for how much food we got, specifically the four piece fish and fries for only $11. JoJo's (potato wedges) were an option instead of fries and I'd get those instead if I ever find myself passing through Chippewa Falls again.

I have been ordering from this business for decades. Last year, 2019, it took me 15 calls to get…read morethrough to place my carry out order for fish on Good Friday. I was told they made over 600 pounds of fish that day. This should alert you to why Bresina's is a popular place to order from. Their Jumbo Shrimp dinner is my favorite (it comes with cole slaw, bread and choice of fries or jo-jo's) followed by their made to order fish and chicken. Nothing is premade and under a heat lamp. The staff know their customers by name and even though they are extremely busy they make their job fun for themselves AND the customer. My favorite part is their "work uniform" a black tshirt with red lettering stating, "I'm with Stupid's", under which there is an arrow pointing to the left and right. The only Con is parking. It's awkward located on a curve and at a corner, nonexistent and across from the local brewery, down the street from the city pool, skate park and local petting zoo. It's a congested area.

It's rustic, beautiful and quiet (no highway or city noise). For the wedding event I attended last weekend, guests were boarded onto a large open-sided wagon drawn by two work horses, and when that wagon was full with about 30 people, we were driven back into the woods, about a 15 minute trip. Some guests arriving later were driven back into the woods in a golf cart. Returning later to the parking area, we were driven in golf carts. The wedding ceremony took place on an outside deck with plastic chairs set up for sitting. They have outhouses for bathrooms and no running water. There's a large enclosed cabin with a wooden floor and long banquet tables and plastic chairs to sit on were set up inside. An ample-sized multi-level deck is attached to the large cabin that has round plastic tables and plastic chairs to sit on. I think the food was catered and it was all right. It was a banquet line set-up. Lightly smoked and large juicy pieces of chicken, large foil-wrapped baked potatoes (with bowls of whipped butter and sour cream available for help-yourself), several varieties of sliced bread, canned corn, and a very soggy-looking pasta salad. They offered lemonade and coffee in big plastic bins with spouts on them. One thing I think would be nice for this business to do for its guests attending a more "formal" event is to clean off the sitting surfaces of all those plastic chairs right before the event so that people dressed up in their finery won't be left wearing the dust and dirt stirred up by their horses making repeated trips through the woods.
