It has a couple of futbol /soccer fields. It has soccer fields and a children's play area. It's nicely kept. It does have one busy intersection as a corner, but one side actually has a bike lane. It's busy in the afternoons around rush hour after school lets out since it does border 2 schools. There's a school zone, and it helps control some of the traffic in the area.

The gazebo gives a great view of the lake and being able to walk the shore and skip rocks is always a very relaxing thing to do. There's actually a secret spot tucked off away from the lake that people don't know about. Good fishing in that part, but not so much in the lake itself from the human interaction on the edge of the water. Families come out and hang out and windsurf so it's pretty family friendly. Also a nice place to go on a date and star gaze. Lots of traffic here on the holidays like Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Juneteenth, and New Years. People from all over come out and celebrate and it can get a little hectic but there's plenty of space to do what you want. I'll always love this place

My boyfriend and I came here on a Sunday afternoon looking for a peaceful place to enjoy a picnic, and we mostly found it. The spot by what might be described as a swimming hole (with easiest access to water) was pretty crowded, packed with happily squealing children and drunk people on jet skis, but up on the grassy hill we had the place to ourselves. We spread out our blanket, gazed out at the water and ate our packed sandwiches in perfect peace. We even wandered up the hill after lunch and explored the little playground, basketball court, and picnic tables that were there. My only complaint might be the "restroom"-- two dilapidated port-a-potties that looked pretty bad and smelled worse. But considering that it's free park, free to enjoy the lake and a pretty nice place to be in general, I can get by with mediocre toilets.

Here's why: Some maintenance work is needed as reflected in the photographs (especially the 1/2 basketball court) and when comparing it to some other City of Murphy Parks it just didn't seem fair to give it a 5 star rating. Wish I could have given it a 4.7 rating but Yelp doesn't permit fractional rating. This 2002 quaint park is located next to Boggess elementary school which helps contribute to the popularity and usage of the younger Murphy population I am sure. It has two shaded playgrounds (much needed during a Texas Summer), swings, a pavilion with BBQ grill (can reserve through City of Murphy Parks & Recreation @ 972-468-4444), electricity, a half basketball court, drinking fountain, backstop, open fields and a .34 mile cement walking loop trail. It is a well landscaped and maintained park. In short, this awesome resource is a must place to spend some time for the neighborhood, pet fur baby owners and dog walkers/pet sitters like me. Nice place to spend time with your family (2 legged and 4 legged family members). Check it out!

In short, it is a great neighborhood park in the 75094 zip code area. It was updated and improved in 2010. The park has a brick gazebo pavilion with four 8-foot long picnic tables, a large BBQ grill and electric outlets. Be sure to check out the shaded playground area, sandy volleyball court, drinking water fountain, 31 trees, basketball court and lots of benches scattered around and one picnic table by the volleyball court. For dog walkers like myself, bikers, joggers and fur baby owners there is a 0.2 mile cement trail loop for lots of fun and exercise. Thinking about moving to the Aviary Subdivision in Murphy, Texas? Then be sure to check out your local Aviary Neighborhood Park to seal the deal. What a nice five acre neighborhood park.
