Great food and warm hospitality! This restaurant serves some of the most juicy, authentic, and flavorful Mediterranean dishes. I love the beef koubideh, chenjeh kabob, and boneless chicken. Their plates come with delicious fluffy saffron zereshk rice and grilled fresh vegetables- tomato and jalapeño. Their sides are amazing- hummus, salad shirazi, baba ghanoush, ikra, and torshi- just to name some of my favorites. The owner is so warm and friendly, always greeting his guests with a smile. The owner is very nice and he has a nice restaurant, but the food was a miss for me. The kabab koobideh was missing salt and onion. It also had a reddish color to it that reminded me of a Slim Jim. Def not my top koobideh in Htx. The rice was also a miss. Their toroshi was out of a can. The boneless chicken was good and cooked perfectly. Go check it out and find out for yourself. We went to Herand's Kitchen for the first time on Saturday. Beautiful stylish looking restaurant with parking lot and outside deck. The lady welcomed us and let us have a seat to chose meals on the menu even though we said takeout. How sweet We ordered Beef "Koubideh". The chef, Herand asked us how we liked the meat to be cooked, so we told him that we liked well done. He started cooking (Smells so good! You will get more hungry)and come to look at the meat and told us, "meat is cooked 70% now." They were looking great and juicy, and he recommended it might be better than well done. We listened to him...He was RIGHT! The meat was juicy and comes with roasted tomato, fresh salad, big pita bread, and yummy rice. All fresh cooked! We all enjoyed the dish! They also have the beautiful eat in place inside. I wish I could eat in if we had time. I'd love to go back to eat there again If you were looking for a fresh yummy Mediterranean food for lunch or dinner, Herand's kitchen will make you happy! The Houston Heights has a new restaurant right in the neighborhood! There's plenty of parking though we can walk there. If you eat on the porch, you can bring your puppers--your well behaved puppers. My pug Booboo came and made friends. We were there the first night they were open, so you have to expect a couple of glitches. We ordered all the starters they weren't sold out of, and everything was fresh and savory and beautifully plated. And we ordered every single entree (we brought friends and family--we didn't eat it all ourselves). Oh, yummy! My husband loved the tender, flaky salmon and the chicken on the bone was a big hit with my granddaughter--the beef was my favorite. We ended with the bite-sized baklava--perfection! And it was just so much fun to walk down to the restaurant and sit on their pleasant porch and drink beer and wine and eat expertly prepared food and visit with people we love. When I called them to try to explain the situation, they denied having ever gotten my order or that they even used DoorDash and couldn't explain the meal I somehow got with their restaurant label on it. WOW! I lived in the middle east for 18 years and have been living in the US for almost 10 years now and I haven't been anywhere that has reminded me of home like this place! Flavors were amazing, service was great, menu is refined (I've always said it's better to do a few things great than do everything okay). Also, the biggest selling point for me was the portion sizes!
