Worth every penny. I used to go to her every month. Now for the bad parts: This isn't like a massage office where there are receptionists to keep track of the appointments. Instead it's an office space where the therapists only show up when they have a previously scheduled appointment. That's why when you call you always get an answering machine and they call you back. Unfortunately that means that if your therapist forgets your appointment, you're stuck on your own in a cold concrete stairwell calling a line with no one on the other end after you carved out time in your schedule and arranged child care. I had hoped that someone would call to explain or apologize but no one ever did. I haven't been back since. If you don't have a busy schedule and fitting appointments in isn't a challenge or a hassle if they don't work out then this is definitely worth checking out. Otherwise maybe find something a bit more dependable.

On the day of the service, my therapist, Laura arrived on time, was very professional and listened to my "kneads". I had a few kinks on my shoulder that she worked on. The prices are very competitive for this place, they are local which is a huge plus, and they don't try to up sell you with future packages. I am a bicyclist with plantar fasciitis and very tight calves that make walking painful. I have been through physical therapy and orthotics, and still have discomfort every day. Not today though! I have never felt so much long-lasting relief with any of the painful massages I have been subjected to as I have with this massage. The woman has a gift: She can provide very firm massage or more gentle pressure, if you prefer. She knows reflexology. She asks your preferences and checks back often. Go there, ask for Kia. So, so happy I found her and can't wait for my next massage. The infrared sauna was pretty nice: You sit in a fancy, albeit slightly claustrophobic sauna box that heats you up from the inside to make you sweat and probably release toxins. While it is not my favorite thing to be hot and sweaty in a box for a half an hour, it really helped to sweat out the toxins released during massage. Kia says it is possible to burn up to 700 calories with this treatment, but said not to quote her. :) Those of you Washington old-timers may think this is an inconvenient or undesirable area to go to, but it is very middle-class looking these days. It's a little weird from the outside, but it is very nice inside. They are a little heavy on the spa fragrance, so if you have allergies, beware. Otherwise, a very affordable spa experience.

He requested two of his massage therapists to come in on a Sunday (they are closed on Sundays) in order to make sure I was seen since I was traveling from New York for a friend's birthday. We had an amazing experience! The massages were great and the therapists had the perfect pressure. They were both professional and very sweet. The inside of the building was very relaxing and calming. They had perfect calming music playing with an electric fireplace and candles lit to truly transform you into a relaxed state. I really enjoyed my experience and I plan to return. The only suggestion I have is to update the outside of the building so that it can reflect the classy, upscale ambiance inside the building.

She dryly asked if I was there for Comfort Spas. When I replied in the affirmative, she said someone would be with me shortly. The receptionist immediately went back to her phone. However, when a guest arrived for Karina's Beauty Spa, the receptionist immediately put her phone down and perked right up. Clearly, she has no interest in guests of Comfort Spas. Per the website, I arrived 15 minutes early. I sat in the waiting area the entire 15 minutes before the Comfort Spas masseuse greeted me, on her way in from a quick run to CVS. Just before getting started, the masseuse (named Jasmine) asked if I had any pain or other problem areas. While this question may seem like a good one to ask objectively, it let me know that Jasmine had clearly failed to review the required form that I spent 20 minutes completing via her online portal. Seriously , if you have a form as a requirement, then it should be the foundation for discussion with a new client... I purchased a 90-minute hot stone/deep tissue massage. Jasmine was a pleasant person, with generally good technique but she lacked the finesse and strength of more seasoned people who do massages. The room was relatively small and cold. Plus, unlike all past experiences I've had, Jasmine did not use heated oils/lotions. Instead, she used VERY COLD lotion which was anything but relaxing. Quite jarring with each touch. Additionally, she used disposable gloves, so the lotion never had a chance to be warmed in her hands. When Jasmine asked about the pressure, I let her know that I'd like it stronger. Yet, she was not able to sustain anything more than a very light massage. The hot stone portion (used exclusively at the neck and back area) was just ok. Stone use was really just an "honorable mention" since they were used less than 5 minutes out of the 90 minute massage. In my past experiences, the stones have been aligned along the spine and allowed to heat any trouble area(s). The Waiting area décor was aesthetically pleasing, and scented with a candle. The music and colors are calming and help to usher in relaxation. However, the loud ticking clock is not conducive to relaxation. Overall, if you're a person accustomed to stronger massages, you may want to look elsewhere. However, if you like a very light touch then this may be for you.
