    Time out market
    Dung N.

This spot was located inside the Time Out Market, which is huge and has so many food options. We decided to see what each stall offered before making our final decision. The ones towards the back had famous chefs, so I leaned towards that area. I ended up choosing Henrique Sa Pessoa and so did my friend. I got the tartaro de robalo, which had salmon on a bed of thin noodles. The portion was small for the price, but it was delicious! I thought that this dish was flavorful and very light and refreshing. My friend got some kind of octopus dish and it was good too. Seating may be hard to find, FYI.

The Time Out Market is a known touristy spot with a lot of different international food options within. This place stood out to me with the clean looking menu, fresh looking food, and professional chefs and servers. The chef of this place is a Michellin star chef as well. I ordered one of the classics, roasted semi-salted codfish with chickpea for about 17 euros. (I only realized afterwards that there was a combo meal deal that was about 15 euros which provides an entree, drink, and dessert. I goofed big time.) I was handed a buzzer and the wait was about 30 minutes before it finally buzzed. Luckily, it took about that much time before we were able to find an open table given how crowded this area is. They take the "semi" part seriously in the semi-salted codfish, because it was a bit bland to me. It feels like a light summer dish with the chickpeas and the grainy slightly sweet puree mixed with the fish, but one of the biggest things I was not a fan of was the sourness; there was some kind of vinaigrette mixed in that was overpowering the bland fish taste. The other dishes like the suckling pig seem interesting but I don't think I would be back anytime soon. The price is high (even for USA standards), there's too many people, the wait was long, and the food was mid.

Amazing!! Hubby and I initially started in the market trying 4 different places. The next day.we came back here because their Bifana ( crispy sucking pig ) sandwich was so tender and delicious. Explosion od favors and the perfect mix of crunchy. I loved it. We always went before noons so had a bit so buy atmosphere. The employee is who recommended the sandwich to me and I was grateful for that, but I don't know if she was grumpy or if it was just the language barrier. But every time I ate that sandwich I kept thinking, damn, I'll never have this again. I need some of my Filipinos to make this! It's so yummy. Oh, the chips it's served with were not crunchy, and being that I'm not a chips fan to begin with, I ate them neither times.

The hustle n bustle of Time out Market can be overwhelming. Sensory overload to the max for a foodie: The menu at Henrique Sa Pessoa looked good so we decided to try. We called a last minute audible choosing the salmon tatake over the oxtail. The salmon, cooked to perfection, made for a great shareable option. Pro tip- eat light and each station so you can save room for other stations

Place is operational. Get the fish and chips. They have one beer on tap. It's ice cold and authentic Portuguese beer--really good. Ask for extra tarter sauce, plate only comes with a nickel size scoop.

You must try the O famoso! Roasted suckling pork served with puréed yam. It is sooooo good! Perfectly crispy skin with juicy succulent meat. They give you a butter knife to cut with and it's a little difficult but it's worth all the work! Didn't really like the puréed yam, a little bland and runny for my liking but I'd go back for the pork in a heart beat!

The pork cheeks are to die for. The service is very nice and they are the only place in my entire stay who have asked for my ID. Delicious food and secure transactions for the win!!

OMG, the food is so good. I am addicted to the suckling Pig. It is so juicy while having a crispy skin. The flavors are amazing. I've been here 3 times in one week. The 64 degree egg is great if you love soft boiled eggs and Truffle. The octopus salad is good too but not my favorite. Stop thinking about it and go get he suckling Pig!!!

24 hours confit suckling pork with sweet potato purée It was very tender with cracking skin.

Very generous portion of suckling pork with juicy meat and crackling skin. Sided by sweet potato purée. I enjoyed my dinner very much but it was a nightmare to find a place to seat in this extremely crowded market.

We went to the famous Mercado di Riberia. Since 2014, Time Out has turned this historical market into a foodie court with 35 kiosks of the city's favourite chefs and restaurants. We tried one of the country's most high-profile chefs stand: Henrique Sá Pessoa. Everything on the menu was very tempting, but I heard Henrique Sá Pessoa was the best place to get some pork dishes, so we ordered the crispy skin suckling pig sandwich with homemade pickles and the 24h confit suckling pig with sweet potato purée. We were not disappointed by any of our dishes. The pig was cooked perfectly. I really enjoyed the 24h confit, which was very moist and the crackling thin and crispy. The sweet potato purée was nice and smooth with a hint of orange which gave a bit of acidity to the dish. The only thing I didn't like about this market was the lack of space to sit down at rush hour. People were taking their seat before ordering their food, which was a issue when you had your food and couldn't find a seat to eat it.

Tatahki de Salmon over glass noodles - amazing!

Pastries de Bacalhau - the crust was not brown enough. May be longer time. The stuffing was flavorful but it's more the cod taste than the flavored mash potatoes which I prefer. I actually prefer the other local restaurant I tried the night before better. Caldo Verde - The potatoe part of the soup is great. Perfect viscosity but the flavor is not. It wasn't salty enough but more importantly is the flavor of the veggies and the spicy sausage they supposed to use that makes the soup taste different. Grilled giant pawns - The flavor of the prawns is not as intense as expected and hope to be. The squid ink pasta also lacked of flavor. That's disappointing. With the prawns, they should at least use the prawn shell to make sauce for the pastas. The pasta was tasteless, didn't even use enough garlic and olive oil to flavor it up. Seafood rice - Another disappointment. They used fish, small mussels and little bit of shrimp pieces along with some bigger whole shrimps and mussels. However, the rice was lack of the true seafood flavor that made from shell fish. They also added cilantro which overwhelmed the whatever left of seafood flavor. The lemonade was not a sweet lemonade but sour. Fyi. It's not fair we just went to another restaurant in the neighborhood and everything was so much better but people should know.

The barbecue was excellent, cuts of lamb, pork and beef accompanied with a rich garlicky au juice. My wife had the sirloin steak with garlic green beans and rice. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is in the Rossio area in Lisbon. Located on Avenida Liberdade near Metro, Bus stops and overwhelming choices of taxi or uber. We ate a little earlier at seven. However Judging by the amount of people waiting in line the closer you get to 8 o'clock prime time for dinner, the longer the wait. As we were visiting in the beginning of summer, the covered alfresco dining outside was the way to go, a very comfortable evening. A reservation is a must!! Highly recommended! Perfect dining experience!

You will climb up to the second floor to be seated in what looks like a large living room serviced by a dumb waiter. Don't let the size fool you, they can fit about 30-40 people in there. Lovely servers hustle to bring you appetizers, drinks (even mocktails), yummy food and desserts. I enjoyed everything from bread, olives, and olive oil with a sardine pate, to a fresh salmon filet with fresh vegetables and a "light as air" mango mousse. I could have passed on the rice and you will be charged for a large bottle of water if you ask for it. But, it's the entertainment that makes you hungry for more. I am a new fan to Fado music. Not to worry about language, the staff spoke and understood English perfectly.
