We have been with Republic Services for over a decade. I guess we're slow learners! The service…read moreis horrible and they miss pickups so frequently that our trash stacks up until the neighbors complain. It's ridiculous. The last bill went up over $50! They are charging $226 quarterly for service in Richmond now. The last time they missed our pickup, they came 9 days later than they should have. We requested a refund for that week. They had NOT planned on refunding anyone they had skipped! We had stayed with them for such a long time because Henrico county had originally said they would only pick up one can. I called them this week, and they will now pick up two cans per week...for $54 quarterly! They just came today, and they did a great job! Our trash is gone, and our bill is 75% smaller. Fantastic. For all of you holding on to Republic Services, just let go and pick another provider. Their consistent failure to provide the most basic trash removal, their unresponsive supervisors and their uninterested phone reps should eventually drive them out of business!

After being cold called, I spoke with a representative named Maxine Crawford and asked for rates and service details. She committed to following up within a certain timeframe but failed to do so. When I reached back out, the communication was dismissive and unhelpful. Overall, the lack of follow-through and poor communication left a very negative impression. Based on this experience, I would not consider working with this company. Also, I looked online and saw that she also ran her own personal company, "Walker Waste," into the trash as well.
