They quote you PRIOR to doing the work so your complaint is completely unfounded and, oh yeah, it's your only review ever. And that is part of their appeal: they do the crappy work you don't want to do, they do it for a fair price and they tell you ahead of time. No surprises. We just had some furniture removed and we are very pleased with the service. I requested a early pickup and was instructed that I would have a 9-11 pickup window with a call 15-30 minutes prior to arrival. One of the employees called about 10 of 9am to let me know they were on the way, and arrived about 20 minutes later. They promptly removed a very oversized twenty year old sofa and recliner and worked as a team to problem solve to get it out. I used the Yelp voucher and this was a great deal. They will show you a "menu" with photos as an example of job loads and the prices. Once the job was finished they completed the business component and were on their way. They were very courteous and we will absolutely call on Junk King again for junk removal. read more

I am extremely pleased with the service I received from Junk King. First thing I really liked was how you could go to their website and get a rough estimate of cost based on what you're having hauled away before even booking your appointment. The price quoted when they got here was actually lower than what was estimated and it was a very reasonable price. The online booking was easy too. I chose an 8-10am window and they were here at 8:15 so I didn't have to wait around for them. They also called when they were 20 minutes away so that you know to expect them soon. Our two guys, Alex and Steve, were very polite and professional. They were quick with removing the sofa, loveseat and bookshelf we needed hauled away. Junk King responded almost immediately when I needed someone in a hurry to grab a bargain off Craigslist. The guys were friendly and strong and gave a fair price. On the less-good side, the item was not handled with care: An assumption was apparently made that because it was of hard material it could take a beating, and it was literally thrown onto the truck bed versus being placed, from where it slid to the other end, striking against it. A good way to break your goods. So if you hire these dudes, just photo your stuff from all angles immediately before pickup, pay conditional on same-condition delivery, and photo all angles on delivery. read more

She said the people would be here between 10:00-12:00. I called at 10 am to get a large piece of furniture picked up. Took 5 minutes on the phone to book a pick up for later in the same day, even though they have a 50 mile drive to my house from Richmond. I was called by the crew enroute and they were right on time. Professional team, uniformed, polite, respectful of my "non-junk". Took them 5-7 minutes to load up, they were not in the driveway 15 minutes total. When you consider I'd need to rent a truck, find a bud to help me load and haul it to the dump, I think the price they charged me was quite reasonable. Recommended without hesitation. read more

The service overall was great. They were timely, professional and picked up the "junk" quickly. They weren't 4 or 5 stars because their pricing isn't as standard as they advertise. It isn't really a price per square foot, no matter what. I had three 32 gallon trash cans full of broken concrete, which is about 2 square meters of "junk". There is a multiplier put on "construction material" that no longer offers a competitive advantage with their universal "per square meter" pricing model. With construction material, you can put it in a truck and recycle it yourself for incredible savings. The genius of the fixed cost "per square meter" pricing is that it's a negligible savings to do it yourself, especially if you have to rent a truck. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again for items that fall in the standard pricing. I'd rent a truck or bin to dispose of concrete, gravel, etc. in the future. read more
