We arrived a couple hours early for check in since our flight was early morning. The front desk was so kind that they allowed us to check in a little early. Our room was situated perfectly right in front of the pool or I should say pools. We were placed in Room 128. It was more of a 2 bedroom suite that had a patio. Our right size patio had a round table and 2 chairs right in front of the pool area. Nice for having coffee or breakfast by the pool. As soon as you step out of the room and patio, you're right at pool access. You're also within arms reach of a lounge chair as soon as you step outside your room. Our room had 2 bedrooms and 4 beds with a huge bathroom and a his and hers sink. Our room was well lit, spacious and all the air conditioners worked perfectly. We also had a safe in our room with 4 umbrellas in the open closet and 4 in door slippers. Great concept by the way with the open closet. I prefer this design of closet space. We had huge mirrors in both rooms and television in both rooms. They also have a gym and each room is provided refillable water containers, cups, utensils and coffee packets. Steven assisted us with our towels at the pool. Super nice guy and very helpful. It's only about a 5 minute walk to the beach. Honestly worked out great for us. Its a safe walk and too short to even take an e-tricycle to. At the beach there is an are across Henann Regency with benches reserved for guests at any Henann hotel. Great experience! Thank you!

Caticlan Jetty Port is exactly what you expect--and honestly, it gets the job done…read more This is the main gateway to Boracay, so be prepared for a bit of a process: multiple lines, different fees (environmental, terminal, boat), and a decent amount of foot traffic. It can feel a little chaotic at first, but overall it's organized and moves fairly efficiently considering the volume of people passing through. The boat ride itself is quick--about 10-15 minutes--and once you're on, everything feels smooth. Staff were generally helpful in directing where to go, especially if it's your first time navigating the system. Bring cash and a little patience. It's not the most seamless experience, but it's all part of getting to Boracay--and once you arrive, it's 100% worth it.

First thing; You can organize a shuttle ride(We didn't) through your Boracay hotel. For most…read morepeople, this might be the way to go because from the airport - to this Jetty Port - to Boracay... I'd imagine for most it'll be a chaotic experience. The downfall of organizing through your hotel is that it adds an unnecessary expense(Think a few dollars per person versus 20-60 usd per person depending on your hotel) Most in the Philippines speak English so you should be good but if you have a Filipino friend, fiance, or wife you're traveling with, even better! If you aren't used to the public transportation life of the Philippines, organizing a shuttle might be ideal. Our experience? When we walked out of the airport, there was a stand to request a trike ride to this jetty port. Upon arrival, you need to find a place to pay for a boat ticket along with the environmental fee. Add in that you have to wheel your bag around the terminal/load it on the boat/etc(arranging a shuttle... they take care of most of that for you). I'd still suggest not going the shuttle/hotel route if you have any sense of adventure in you. You can certainly figure things out and save some money for more play/food while visiting Boracay. The last thing I want to mention is the return trip. There are quite a few flights that are scheduled for 7-9 AM departure. - Since you have to wake up - Check out of your hotel - Find a trike to the Boracay jetty port - Pay for the ride back from this Jetty Port to the airport(pay in advance) - Take the boat back - Check in to the airport - etc... this can cause a super early wakeup time. All in all, it took about 1.5 hours to make it from the hotel back to the airport early in the morning. I mentioned it before but if you're not doing the shuttle thing, you need to pay for a trike in advance at the Boracay jetty port. They give you a sticker. When you reach the main island jetty port... getting off the boat you're met by dozens of trike drivers talking to you. Show one the sticker and they'll get you to where you need to go(the airport). All of that chaos is part of getting to Boracay whether by shuttle or on your own. Give yourself plenty of time and try to do a little research in advance; You'll be fine.

Disembarking from the boat and walking up the dock, it's apparent that you're going to have a good stay. As mentioned in the other review: If you've arranged an overpriced shuttle, your hotel will be there waiting for you. If not, just walk up the dock... there will be no less than 10 trikes with drivers waiting for you. To add to the relaxation, all the trikes are electric on the island. No noise. No pollution. Perfect. Boracay itself isn't the largest island. When catching a trike here, it'll take you 20 minutes tops to make it to your hotel unless you go all the way to the north side of the island(Where the gross rich people vacation; I said what I said). I'll get into that in another review but it's bizarre to venture to the north side of the island, pay 400+/night, and be sooooooo far away from literally everything on the island. On the return trip, you'll also go through this jetty port. You'll pay for the boat ticket and we were able to pay for a trike driver in advance(they give you a sticker to give to any trike driver) to take us back to the airport once leaving the boat.

Then people put free souvenir necklaces made with wooden beads and ribbons around your neck. What a greeting! Next we saw a money changer and that was perfect. I checked the rates and they were off by one peso. What value! That was enough to get some pesos for both the shuttle ride into town and to buy souvenirs on the beach along with some drinks and food. Get to the street and there's a company offering you a shuttle ride for 150 pesos round trip. Take that ride my friends, because it's a steal. You may be tempted to walk to the beach, but it's a longer walk than you'd expect it, you'll be exposed to mosquitoes and some of the seedier characters hanging out in town, and if you only have six hours in town like we did before the cruise ship leaves, you'll appreciate not wasting an hour walking to the beach. Please don't pay your cruise company for a beach transfer. You'll pay $70 for that transfer when you can pay 150 pesos (less than $3 USD). And if you want a more personal ride than a shuttle, get a ride from a trike which I imagine is just as cheap. On the way back you will again see a band waiting to see you off to your cruise ship. Thank you Boracay for being so welcoming. Every time I come to this town, I am convinced more and more that this is one of the most wonderful tourist places to visit in the world.

The departures side of the airport has one gate where you will need to wait to board a bus to transfer you to your airplane. In fact, their airport tower control will only give bus clearance to move passengers/luggage to their plane only when the runway is cleared. Food options from the departures side are minimal. I think I saw a stall selling potato fries and another stall selling sandwiches and pastas. Sidebar - If arriving from the airport to your hotel/hostel/or Airbnb, there are several ways to get to Boracay. You will need to board a bus/tricycle (tuk-tuk)/or private car to take you to the ferry and from there you await to board a 10-minute ferry ride to the actual island. It's best if you already have this pre planned. For me, I was able to coordinate with my hotel (Henann) from arrival, board their hotel shuttle to their hotel ferry and then it's another bus shuttle to my resort. I don't like dealing with the hassle of figuring out (the day of) how to get there DIY. I'm wasting precious vacation time. I've traveled for some hours now and I'm simply tired. Just get me to my destination with some A/C and comfort! LoL. Thankfully there are plans for airport expansion and I'm quoting this off of Wikipedia. "A permanent two-level passenger terminal building is currently under construction.[24] Right-of-way issues delayed the terminal's construction, missing its initial completion target of 2018.[24] San Miguel Corporation awarded the construction contract to Megawide on November 28, 2024.[25] The terminal broke ground on July 14, 2025, with President Bongbong Marcos leading the ceremony.[26] Once completed in 2027, the new 36,470-square-meter (392,600 sq ft) terminal would accommodate seven million passengers annually and have six jet bridges[26] which protrude above a twelve-bay apron[24] for Airbus A320 family aircraft.[citation needed]." I'm looking forward to what develops in a couple of years. Hope this review helps and safe travels!

Our room was only a few steps away from the pool and the towel service (which they gave you towel cards so you can borrow clean beach towels to use). This hotel was also a short walk away from the beach in which you can use their beach chairs (first come, first serve) and there's an attendant that oversee them. We spend the whole day at the beach! There are moments in life that once seemed so far away that they almost felt imaginary…read more For my husband and I, staying at the Shangri-La Boracay was one of those moments. We were actually supposed to come the previous year for our anniversary celebration, but life had other plans. We became very ill and had to cancel the trip entirely. After recovering and getting back to our normal lives, my beloved husband decided it was finally time to make our long-awaited anniversary getaway happen. So, we flew all the way from the quiet plains of South Dakota to one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. And honestly? It was worth every mile. From the moment we landed, the experience felt seamless. Representatives from the hotel, dressed in their elegant red uniforms, greeted us immediately at the airport and handled everything from there. We were escorted into a comfortable shuttle van and brought down to the hotel's exclusive jetty area so we could transfer directly to Shangri-La without the usual chaos and confusion of island transfers. The private jetty ride itself was beautiful. The water was sparkling beneath us, the breeze was warm, and seeing the resort slowly appear in the distance felt surreal after waiting so long for this trip. When we finally arrived, we were welcomed by native performers, music, and smiling staff who somehow made us feel both important and completely relaxed at the same time. Since we booked a suite, we were assigned a personal floor valet service that operated around the clock in shifts. They even gave us a dedicated cell phone that directly connected us to whichever valet was currently on duty. I have stayed at many beautiful hotels over the years, but that level of attentiveness was genuinely impressive. Our suite was absolutely stunning. We overlooked the beach and had both indoor and outdoor dining areas, along with an outdoor hot tub that had already been prepared for us with warm bubbling water and flower petals. After the long journey, we wound up taking a nap almost immediately. When we woke up, we wandered down to the beach and that was the moment everything really sank in. The beachfront at Shangri-La feels like its own secluded world away from the busier parts of Boracay. The white sand was impossibly soft and bright, the water was cool without being cold, and the atmosphere was peaceful in a way that almost felt intoxicating. There was even a beach valet nearby ready to bring drinks while we relaxed near the shore. Mostly, though, I just loved spending uninterrupted time with my honey. No stress. No rushing. No obligations. Just the sound of the water, warm sea air, and the feeling that after years of working hard and pushing through difficult seasons of life, we had finally reached a chapter where we could stop and truly enjoy one another again. That evening we were shuttled to our anniversary dinner at Rima, which deserves its own separate review entirely because it was spectacular. The next morning we enjoyed one of the most beautiful breakfast buffets we've had in years. Fresh tropical fruits, pastries, Filipino and international selections -- everything was beautifully presented and constantly refreshed. We spent several days there simply relaxing, walking the beach, enjoying the suite, and appreciating how fortunate we were to finally make this trip happen. This is not an inexpensive hotel by any stretch of the imagination. Even with the perks my husband receives from frequently staying at Shangri-La properties, our suite still cost well into the four-figure range per night. But unlike some luxury hotels that feel expensive simply for the sake of being expensive, Shangri-La Boracay truly delivered an experience that felt restorative, romantic, and unforgettable. Leaving was honestly depressing. But as my husband and I sat preparing to leave paradise, we were already talking about returning. Hopefully later this year in 2026.

The views are jaw-droppingly Insta-worthy, and the entire vibe is peaceful, elegant, and indulgent. Let's talk food: amazing. Every meal we had was delicious and beautifully presented. Yes, it's on the pricey side--but here's the thing: if you plan ahead, you can make it work. I used my Amex Platinum points to cover a big portion of the stay and only paid a few hundred dollars out of pocket. Thanks to the card benefits, we scored: * Free daily breakfast (which was incredible) * $100 resort credit * A free room upgrade So yes, it's expensive--but paradise can be affordable if you play it smart. It's a unique concept, one venue with two separate kitchens and two distinct menus. Interestingly, the steak was cooked and served separately from both the sauce and the vegetables. It's a different approach from the traditional Kare-Kare, but it worked surprisingly well. While the steak itself didn't absorb the rich Kare-Kare flavor, combining it with the sauce brought everything together nicely. For dessert, I had the tiramisu, and it was executed perfectly, absolutely no complaints there. The service was nothing short of exceptional.
