    Resort view from the water
    Peter M.

Having been born on an island, I tend to gravitate towards those in other countries, when it is vacation time. On a recent trip to the Philippines, I had the opportunity to go to Boracay island, a stunning destination that sits a 1-hour flight away from Manila. It was my second trip here and I was going to be here for a week. My first trip in 2017 was only for 3 days, and I stayed elsewhere. When in Boracay, I always feel that I have died and gone to heaven. So how does one choose where to stay? Crimson resorts are a resort brand that is present only in the Philippines. Close friends raved about their Crimson stay in Cebu (another Philippine Island, about 90 minutes flying time away from Manila). So, we headed here. In Boracay, the brand lived up to its reputation, and more. After arriving at Caticlan airport In Boracay, we were efficiently transferred by van to and exclusive Crimson jetty where you are treated with a welcome hot/cold face towel. There are refreshments (non-alcoholic) and sweet treats like cookies and the like, to occupy you while you wait for the private Crimson launch to take you to the resort. In this situation, arrival at the resort is by water (15-20 minute trip), if the weather permits. What a magnificent view of paradise as you approach the landing dock. After a seamless check in process, I was shown to my room. On entering I noticed that my two pieces of luggage were already in there. The room itself was gorgeous. Lots of glass, elegant decor, high class toiletries, and numerous other items, tooth brushes, toothpaste, lotions, gels, sewing kit, etc. Two bath robes also were awaiting in the bathroom area. Two pairs of beach slippers were also provided. Other complimentary items included a beach bag, a nice hat, and two big bottles of water (with no price tags on them). Every floor had a water cooler that could be used to replinish the water bottles at no charge. This is most welcome. Other resorts charge and rip you off just to drink water. Amenities at Crimson abound. The resort sits on an idyllic and calm bay that is home to a breathtaking private beach, that will further captivate you every evening at sunset. There are also several pools and restaurants. I have reviewed the popular restaurants separately on this platform. Most frequented are Saffron (for a huge buffet breakfast) and Azure (for lunch, dinner and beach bar). Food at both restaurants is outstanding. There are other activities, including water sports, that can also be booked at the resort. During my stay here, I had the distinct privilege of meeting the general manager, Patrick Manthe. During our conversation on the go (I was heading to the beach), I learned that he has been at Crimson for 2 years and came here from similar responsibilities in Thailand. I complimented Patrick on what he has done to Crimson to make it the most talked about and sort after resort in Boracay. No other place on Boracay can compare to Crimson if you evaluate 5 core must-have categories at a resort. They are location (pristine, with a wow beach), accommodations (clean rooms, very comfortable, well stocked and serviced), Food (many succulent choices, all round exceptional), Amenities (so many possibilities) and service (unparalleled in all departments). Walk anywhere at the resort, and you are greeted by every staff member you encounter on the way to your destination. Courteous, respectful and always smiling. Thank you, general manager. Patrick. I now eagerly wait to get the opportunity to visit Boracay, and experience your warm hospitality, once again.

We stayed for 2 nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary! We get the room with the sea view. And it's a beautiful view to see. It's on the pricy side but I think it's worth it, from the staff, they're so accommodating and very nice, we had a very good experience from checking in up to the last day of our stayed. Breakfast buffet was included in our package, they have a good breakfast selections, and since our flight was very early they are able to give a pack breakfast. I can say that they really have a good customer service. We enjoyed our 2 nights stay. And if ever will go back to boracay I don't mind staying back in this resort.

A definite South East Asian PARADISE for the privileged few. Every need / want is taken cared of, backed up by a smile. It appears the staff thrives on providing guests the comfort and experience this ultra first class resort offers. Considering my own personal experience as an avid traveller, the Crimson ranks way up there. (My top two in the world) Watch out resorts in Europe, Africa, North America, South America and most of Asia. The Crimson set the bar really high....and dare say, they appear to be in a class of their own! Keep up the great work guys, I am looking forward to my next visit in the not too distant future. For the moment, champagne wishes and caviar dreams!......... Thank you, Nash. Los Angeles, California USA.

Boracay is my favorite getaway place, even before it became commercialized. I love Palawan, Siargao, and Cebu, but Boracay always beckons. I have been to every nook and cranny place on the island, from the cheapest to the priciest. Nowadays, I love to splurge and pamper myself. With so many choices to choose from, where can I go wrong? Crimson Boracay is one of those fancy places you might want to spend, but because of its offerings, you might as well spend a good amount of money. This place is impressive, and it truly represents Filipino hospitality at its finest. From the moment I got to Caticlan and experienced a personalized service in their private jetty port (cold face towels!) to the ride to the island, it was a pleasant experience. The hotel staff is attentive and respectful, and they are quick to respond to my requests. The food is amazing! Although, I witnessed their executive chef "kind of" berating one of the kitchen staff members. I mean, the chef is foreign, and I was not too fond of the scene. Well, that was their problem to solve. The beach provides enough privacy, and the staff quickly laid clean and warm towels on the lounges. Lifeguards everywhere! They're very strict with "beach curfew," they asked us to leave the water promptly at 6 PM. Like kids, of course, we obliged. I asked for an upgrade to a room with a plunge pool, and they got it ready and sanitized immediately. It was a wise decision since I love my privacy and the chance to jump at the pool first thing in the morning. For dinner tonight, we had sinigang and fried chicken, and they were divine. When one leaves a place, the one that stays with you most is how wonderful you were treated, and the Crimson service is beyond compare. I have one gripe though, the nocturnal felines are incessant in finding food. I wonder who's feeding them at night?! And! They left their poop outside. Oh well. I thought of my vacation experience in Cancun and Andalusia, and both have nothing to say about Crimson's excellent service. I intend to stay in this resort for my next visit.

We were actually supposed to come the previous year for our anniversary celebration, but life had other plans. We became very ill and had to cancel the trip entirely. After recovering and getting back to our normal lives, my beloved husband decided it was finally time to make our long-awaited anniversary getaway happen. So, we flew all the way from the quiet plains of South Dakota to one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. And honestly? It was worth every mile. From the moment we landed, the experience felt seamless. Representatives from the hotel, dressed in their elegant red uniforms, greeted us immediately at the airport and handled everything from there. We were escorted into a comfortable shuttle van and brought down to the hotel's exclusive jetty area so we could transfer directly to Shangri-La without the usual chaos and confusion of island transfers. The private jetty ride itself was beautiful. The water was sparkling beneath us, the breeze was warm, and seeing the resort slowly appear in the distance felt surreal after waiting so long for this trip. When we finally arrived, we were welcomed by native performers, music, and smiling staff who somehow made us feel both important and completely relaxed at the same time. Since we booked a suite, we were assigned a personal floor valet service that operated around the clock in shifts. They even gave us a dedicated cell phone that directly connected us to whichever valet was currently on duty. I have stayed at many beautiful hotels over the years, but that level of attentiveness was genuinely impressive. Our suite was absolutely stunning. We overlooked the beach and had both indoor and outdoor dining areas, along with an outdoor hot tub that had already been prepared for us with warm bubbling water and flower petals. After the long journey, we wound up taking a nap almost immediately. When we woke up, we wandered down to the beach and that was the moment everything really sank in. The beachfront at Shangri-La feels like its own secluded world away from the busier parts of Boracay. The white sand was impossibly soft and bright, the water was cool without being cold, and the atmosphere was peaceful in a way that almost felt intoxicating. There was even a beach valet nearby ready to bring drinks while we relaxed near the shore. Mostly, though, I just loved spending uninterrupted time with my honey. No stress. No rushing. No obligations. Just the sound of the water, warm sea air, and the feeling that after years of working hard and pushing through difficult seasons of life, we had finally reached a chapter where we could stop and truly enjoy one another again. That evening we were shuttled to our anniversary dinner at Rima, which deserves its own separate review entirely because it was spectacular. The next morning we enjoyed one of the most beautiful breakfast buffets we've had in years. Fresh tropical fruits, pastries, Filipino and international selections -- everything was beautifully presented and constantly refreshed. We spent several days there simply relaxing, walking the beach, enjoying the suite, and appreciating how fortunate we were to finally make this trip happen. This is not an inexpensive hotel by any stretch of the imagination. Even with the perks my husband receives from frequently staying at Shangri-La properties, our suite still cost well into the four-figure range per night. But unlike some luxury hotels that feel expensive simply for the sake of being expensive, Shangri-La Boracay truly delivered an experience that felt restorative, romantic, and unforgettable. Leaving was honestly depressing. But as my husband and I sat preparing to leave paradise, we were already talking about returning. Hopefully later this year in 2026.

Every where you looked and walked things were cleaned and organized. The breakfast buffet is rotating every day so you won't get the same dish every day , maybe a variation but not the same dish. The food was filling and delicious great way to start the day. The gym and spa area is really great for solo workouts or pair . They have a lot of machines, weights and sauna, hot tub and steam room. Plenty of showers too. There was also workout classes you can join. The beach was so lovely! Best part is you have private access and a giant pool near too. I recommend ordering the Ube colada and a fresh coconut during your stay. Take advantage of the free shuttle into town to experience the localness.

From their clean rooms, easy check-in process, beachfront reclinable loungers and on-site massage services, Sea Wind is the #1 resort in Boracay. It's overwhelming just when you land in Manila. However, once we got to Caticlan the District takes care of everything else. At the arrival of meeting a District staff member at the airport I just felt so relieved knowing we can relax and be worry free. Staff reassured us we were going to be taken care of. All of the staff on the boat and cars were so welcoming and took photos of our landing. When we got to the hotel, we were welcomed with cold eucalyptus towels (which you're gonna want bc of the humidity) & a refreshing cucumber cooler drink ! Check in was an ease and we got to our room without much of a wait. Room is probably the better of the ones in station 2 with AC & tv with all streaming services. We get a cute balcony. They have night time getting ready turn around and fully daily room service. All inclusive breakfast buffet which changes daily and beach access chairs with umbrellas. My BF and I every day would walk the beach, get our seats, & the. swim/relax for the day. No need to claim as there is always plenty. They have a spa and it is fantastic ! We got 3 massages on our 5 day stay and shout out to Grace - hands of an angel! Best massages ever, with a variety to choose. They were well needed after our flight. They have a pool, but we avoided bc the beautiful beach is right outside the hotel. We did however sit by the poolside to escape the sun during peak hours. They have a very small basic gym, which had everything we needed. It was great to get our workouts in cause that's a part of our lifestyle. There's also three other restaurants in the hotel which was delicious. Higher prices compared to restaurants on the station, they deliver to the beach if you're sitting there. Try their Japanese restaurant, very fresh high quality fish. I will say the hospitality in the PI is 10/10 & the hospitality at The District was 100/10. They were on top of everything and always greeting with the smiles. Please make sure to tip them for all their excellent work (including transportation and staff assisting with luggage) !!! Boracay is a tourist destination, & the beautiful staff assist us with over the top service and they deserve so much for what they are actually paid!!! That said, i never had anything but wonderful interactions here and truly feel this resort is absolutely excellent, I'm so glad I chose it! This was my first trip to boracay and I looked at a lot of the available resorts on the island, but I felt like the henann group had a really good reputation, and this one in particular (Henann Garden) looked the most beautiful to me with the architecture and the plants in the courtyard. The resort did not disappoint: the staff here are some of the hardest working, kindest, and most polite hotel folks I've met to date. Everyone goes out of their way to greet you and try to help make your stay as comfortable as possible. From the desk staff, to the manager at the garden cafe (Rammy) to the gym supervisor (Pascual), to the masseuses (Mary Jane in particular!) everyone was just phenomenal! Even after a couple days these folks started to recognize me and would ask how I was doing, where my mom was (since she came with me), and the cafe staff (shout out to the morning bartenders!) would prepare my tea with milk as I was arriving before I asked since they knew I'd want it. Pascual in the gym also noted I was uncomfortable lifting the weights without gloves and gave me a pair to use during my stay - so kind and hospitable! The pools here are also pristine (all 6 of them), as are the rooms. The housekeeping staff work really hard to keep the rooms, pool area, and beachfront area nice and clean, and free of sand as much as possible (eg on the beachfront beds). There are rinse/foot wash stations all over the courtyard, and lots of amenities for convenience as well (eg paid lunch and dinner buffets, the pool side bar, massages throughout the day either poolside or in the room, etc.). I could go on and on; truly this resort is superb! They do offer transport services as well, you have to email and ask for it though. Payment is done prior to coming, it's about $36 (USD) per person and I paid through PayPal. The morning breakfast buffet (included with cost of stay) is also a whole other discussion - it's fantastic! So many choices. And on our last day, just before leaving they gave us a little plate that said "thank you for staying" written in frosting with some cake. So personalized, so kind To keep this review from getting too long I'll stop here but highly, highly recommend Henann garden for your next stay! The resorts' rooms all have an open layout with no windows and bamboo doors, but they each still feel private. This is because every room is in a unique spot on the side of a cliff. During my stay here, our group stayed at the top rooms. My only problem/worry is that the climb to the top rooms are difficult because the steps were narrow steps and they switch off the lights at night. Pretty dangerous if you arrive back a bit tipsy! But, the views and breezes make it all worth it. You wake up every morning with the sun shining over a clear water with no people in sight since you are so high up! Rooms come with a fan and mosquito net over the bed. If you can, get a room which includes breakfast (better value). The staff is very friendly but, sometimes they are a little slow when it comes to serving food/drinks (which is, sadly, expected in the Philippines). The beauty and perk of the restaurant/lounge area is that you can go for a swim while you wait! This is also the best place on the island to watch the Boracay sunset. :) On that note, yes, it does get busy during sunsets especially during the peak season. Also, if you are late for breakfast, you may not get a seat. :( The bar can get noisy but it stops at 10PM sharp. This is because this is the side of Station 1 where guests prefer the peace and quiet. So, if you are in Boracay for the parties, this place is not for you. Room Tip: Go for Room B! It is away from the restaurant/lounge area. Some rooms are right above the restaurant/lounge area and can be a bit noisy.
