If you want to fly to beautiful Boracay, then it is more than likely that this is the airport that you will fly into. It is not a large airport, but it gets the job done. Only about a short 10 minute drive to the spot where we catch a boat ride to Boracay. M Getting in and out of the airport was so fast! When we arrived at the airport, we were out of the terminal in just a few minutes. Well, it helped that we had no check-in baggage. Upon departure from the airport, things also went smoothly. Going through security was quick and harmless. The waiting areas at the gate was comfy and roomy. There was also a shop where we purchased some snacks and drinks so you don't have to starve while waiting to board your flight. Hopefully, I get future opportunities to use this airport because it would be great to visit Boracay from time to time.

As long as the plane that I'm on landed safe, I won't complain too much. It's a bit bumpy and seeing how small the airport is, I won't hide the frightened feeling inside. It was my first time in Boracay and I don't want my excitement turned the opposite way, but hey, I do trust Mr. Pilot & yeap when he landed the plane safe I think I have a crush on him already. The Malay Aklan Airport is a small airport and any pilot definitely needed more attentive focusing technique to navigate the landing and departure. Arrival terminal is on one end and the departure terminal is on a different building on the other end. Don't get me wrong but it was a decent airport situated in the middle of the ocean's vastness. The crew and staff are helpful and friendly. They really did a good job on accommodating their guests and help the best they could to arrive safely to each of their prospective destination. So yeah, I won't complain to much as what I've stated on my first paragraph. We landed safe, we departed safe...that's what the most important thing in here!

Very small airport but giving them a five stars for very efficient system- staff are all helpful and they have a Starbucks!

Tiny little airport that service air traffic for Boracay Island. Since Boracay doesn't have an air strip you need to fly into Godofredo P Ramos Airport and take a boat across to Boracay Island. The trip in was pretty choppy. The trip back was downright scary w/wind and rain rocking the boat, but thank God we made it back safely

Bluesmith Coffee is located in Godofredo P. Ramos Airport at Caticlan that services Boracay. It's a small counter but the coffee is good I had a Americano, and my friend had the cappuccino and she said it remind her of Starbucks. They lso they had desserts, patisseries, cookies and a few other food items and could I say the cakes are fresh. I had a slice of chocolate cake and it was soft, moist. and tasty. They also had sandwiches that where pre-made and wrapped, but I didn't try them so I couldn't judge them.

Just like Cebu's airport, you'll ride a bus to and from the plane. Arrival: The bus drove circuitously to the actual airport terminal. I'm not sure if this was due to rain. Once there passengers squabbled and stressed over filling out a travel form. Exit staff were blocking travelers from leaving before completion. But thanks to my smooth transfer decision, this was taken care of already. We spotted our Southwest Tours chaperones waiting with our names on a sign right outside. Right Ted? We outta here!! Departure: Southwest Tours had us wait in an air conditioned waiting room for some reason across the road from the check-in area. Not sure why. But even a weak ac was a god send. The security checkpoint and airline check-in counters are packed tightly in a small area. Of course it's chaotic. Security seemed to scrutinize luggage closely but I got through fine. There are 2 waiting rooms and the downstairs one fills up quickly. Upstairs has more room. It was hard to find an open seat. Limited refreshment choices means over priced snacks and drinks. Canned beer was available whew - but had to be poured in a cup. Wifi was meh fast but available. For a remote and small airport, it did okay.

This place is so tiny and it's for domestic flights only. The bathrooms don't have good pipes as it seems to be clogged all the time. They do have a Starbucks with all the souvenir cups of the Philippines. They have a giant fan to keep you cool. You do however have to take a bus to the plane and you get in runways with planes so you have to wait in lines

View of the VERY small airport from the plane!

Philippines Review #6 I've been through this airport 6 times now (3 trips to Boracay) and man this is one TINY airport! The smallest I've ever been through. How small you ask? It's so small... if there are 4 planes on the ground at the same time, it's completely packed and there is NO room for another plane to land, or at least to park off of the runway. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/godofredo-p-ramos-airport-malay?select=dVkPCFfnqurIeuvl2N4JTQ It's so small... that a siren sounds when a plane is a few minutes out and on approach to land. It's so small... (I've heard) sometimes the airport staff will have to chase cows off the runway before the next plane is to land. (haven't seen this though) It's so small.... that when a plane is preparing for take off, it taxis to one end of the runway, turns around, then reverses until the tail is only a few feet from the fence. Then, the pilot stands on the brakes, pushes the turbo-prop engines to full throttle, releases the brakes and LAUNCHES the plane down the runway! It lifts off at the far end of the runway and clears the fence by what looked like no more than 15-20 feet! WHEW! If you are going to or from Boracay Island, this is the best airport to arrive and depart through. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/godofredo-p-ramos-airport-malay?select=wuzOivzTSWqAgrqyPCUN_Q An alternative is to fly through Kalibo Intl Airport, but then you are looking at a 2 hour bus ride to get to the Caticlan Jetty Port anyway. There is an indoor as well as a outdoor "waiting area" when waiting for your flight, but being outdoors, it's obviously not air conditioned. There are plenty of stands selling food, drinks, ice cream and other snacks to nibble on while you wait. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/godofredo-p-ramos-airport-malay?select=K-NxtlgiNGjCdMpJC9xjvg As Steven N noted, the security check/screening is a breeze when compared to most any other airport. OVERALL: A very small, old world type of airport which functions pretty well. More than likely the only reason you'd fly through this airport, is to get to or from Boracay Island.

With the other airport, it's farther and I've heard it takes a couple of hours to get to the boats to Boracay.

The most inconvenient and unorganized airport I have been at. What I mean is when you get dropped…read morehere, there is no way of knowing what to do or location to go unless you ask. When we first landed and arrived at the airport, you are escorted from the plane to the terminal and you have to go to the information desk to find out how to get to Borocay island. They directed us outside where there are transport vendors for ways to get there. Best one was - Southwest but later I found out our agency provided transfers to and from Boracay! The staff at the airport didn't even ask us if this was provided from our agency as I didn't know?! The instructions from agency is confusing as hell. Coming back from Boracay resort to the only airport, we went through a passport and ticket check point. Of course, they did not direct us where to go. We found our way to the check-in desk and that took awhile. You have to know your airlines and flight number as this is posted on the line signs. We went through one security point but before going through security, you have to pay a 200php terminal entrance fee. Seriously?! Beware cash only, too! Also, the security here is no joke! They do not allow aerosol sprays and anything sharp. They found my aerosol sunblock trial size spray and facial small scissors so I had to throw that out. I have gone through so many airport scans and this is the first time I was caught....hAhaha During your wait for the plane, there are many small food vendors that are unknown brands. They do not have many hot foods, too. I was wondering why they serve instant soup as inside this airport, it's freakin freezing!!! Good thing I brought emergency leggings and my light sweater. When your flight is called there is no structure how you are to enter to get to your plane. It's all about who ever is first in line... One thing about this airport, they accept so many flights but if one is delayed it starts a chain reaction for the rest! We got their early of three hours before and our flight was an hour and half behind schedule! They said this was normal!!! I am not sure I want to travel to the other small islands if it's like this. It's terrible...but if you have to, now you know what to expect. :-(

Kalibo!!! Your gateway to Boracay!!!…read more Kalibo airport is super small, probably accommodating 3 planes maximum at each given time. This means that transiting here is nice and quick. Being so small things can also be confusing, for example there is no liquid restrictions when flying internationally, signage are handwritten and the vibe is very chilled. Arriving at Kalibo, you will find tour and transfer services competing for your patronage once you walk out the door. Most are decent and reliable bar the exception of universally jacked up tourist rates ( which is to be expected). There is ATMs on site and you can purchase local SIM cards. If you are leaving Kalibo and here early or your flight is delayed, there isn't too much to do but WiFi is free, there are two massage stalls inside the airport to spend your last Pesos. Outside the airport are some restaurants offering a good variety, and snack and drinks stalls. Overall I find Kalibo airport fuss free and friendly. Tip is to bring some tissues with you in case you need to use the toilet.

There are a few food stalls to score snacks and drinks if you have time to kill while waiting for your flight (like we did.) I even got to discover some cool snacks like sarisa chips (see attached pic.) I overheard another passenger nearby saying this airport is known for sitings of Filipino celebrities. Sure enough, someone in my party spotted a famous influencer walk by. Good (first) arrival and departure runs!

Very small and quaint airport, but its home to me and my family. Both happy and sad stories happen…read morehere. The staff there are super friendlty. CITY OF SMILES for a reason. As i was checking in, and sadly i was really overweight with my carry-on. They were so patient with me that I was able to take apart my bag, make another bag and check in two bags instead. So I was successful with that. I also wanted to point out that just last June, they were able to finish the renovation of the space that now became the Mabuhay Lounge. Head over towards the left as you get past the scanners. I immediately dove in to make my own arroz caldo. They have a fridge well-stocked of sweets and sodas. Its a little tight - small space; counting the lounge seating in the back. Am i coming back? Of course. Im always happy coming home and I look forward to coming back after i leave.
