The roof looks great and I'm not worried about rain now. The quote was on the higher side but because of their professionalism I'm glad I went with them. That's exactly what happened here. My estimate was around $23,000 but the final cost was over $45,000. They placed a lot of the cost as 'extra' but most of it became necessary. I chose this company based on their good reviews. But I think they prevented bad reviews. I would have gotten a 'discount' if I didn't write this review. The clause they added was: "As part of this agreement, both parties agree not to make, publish, or communicate any statements, whether written or oral, that could reasonably be construed as negative, defamatory, or disparaging toward the other party, including but not limited to statements made on review platforms, social media, or to third parties. This includes statements regarding the project, the services performed, or the resolution of this matter. This obligation applies indefinitely." It seemed pretty standard, so I guess I am not the first to get it. When they added over $6,000 to the estimate, I requested to be notified of any further changes. I heard nothing. But when I called to ask what was going on, I was told that the cost had increased to over $40,000. And I had to call to find out. When I asked to see the items I was being charged, I was told I should have gone up to roof and watched to verify what was actually being used. That response alone speaks volumes. My advice: be careful when you get an estimate from a company who doesn't have someone go on the roof. I thought using a drone was modern and efficient, but it can also be lazy and gives them no idea what needs to be done --adding costly surprises later.

Was not hard to get a quote, was quick and easy. * "Extra" services were being offered by another company for another $1500 (replace a couple other tiles that were broken -- Rational did it for free. They had to buy a bundle of tiles anyway, and it's not hard to replace a single tile. * I was lucky -- they were able to come out the next day. Showed up 10 mins early, got started and wrapped up with no delays. Everyone else wanted at least a week to come out -- one wanted 3 weeks (and this was in the middle of the rain storms that hit SoCal). * The took the underlayment all the way to the highest point of the roof. The other company was going to just bridge the new and old together, which can be problematic. Ryan said he just goes all the way up since it can be problematic later if you don't. I love that. * Best part of all of it? Ryan, the owner, is fantastic. Honest. Direct. No funny business/games. He's just a straight forward good guy -- the kind of guy you want to build a deck together and have a beer with after. * I wasn't going to be home and my wife was going to be home alone, so at first I was concerned. After meeting Ryan and the crew, I knew everything was going to be OK and that I wouldn't need to "oversee" the work. If anything, these guys were going to bring added security to my home, not be a threat to it. They're not trying to take you for what they can -- just doing an honest day's work for an honest price. He emailed me a comprehensive estimate and offered me a financing option that was very affordable. Interest-free loan if paid in 18 months. I asked the main office lady (Sam) to please do the legwork and obtain the permits for me, and she did so effectively and got them right the first time. When the crew came out to replace my roof, their Foreman (Jose) explained each step to me as they progressed. The first day was tear-off and replacing 3 sheets of plywood. The second day, the crew met with the State Inspector who approved the crew to proceed to install the new shingles. Final Inspection was done by the same Inspector during the following week and Jose came out to meet with him and get the Final Signoff. The whole process was smooth and friendly which I believe is due to this family-owned roofing business who actually CARE about doing a fine job for a fair price. I saw that he read my text message but he did not reply back. The next day I texted him again that I will be informing his office of my interaction with him. He texted back right away that he is out of town for training and he apologized for the late response. He texted me by the name of Trina and Angela, although all he had to do was scroll up on the text messages for my name. When it came down to cost, All Service Roofing was a fraction of what the other company quoted. On the day of the repair, Carlos and his team showed up in the timeframe that was agreed upon and started working right away. They uncovered the roof tiles and started the repairs.
