I told them I have a licensed plumber who does work for me normally as I knew they would most likely cost a lot more than my normal plumber. I asked roughly how much it would cost to do the small amount of work needed. I was told by the tech around $200 but he said he couldn't give me an exact price, so I was comfortable as I thought it was fair and anywhere around that price I was ok with just to get it done. Almost 2 weeks later I get an invoice of $798.05 4x what I was told it would most likely cost. I called and spoke to them on the phone and they agreed to take off 10% of the most likely 40%+ mark up on materials. I was only requesting they take off the mark up on materials as I would never had used them had I thought it was going to be $800 where I would have most likely got that done for less than half what they charged. Their tech told me something I trusted and honestly would have been ok even anywhere near what I was told.

Technicians were very polite and provided good recommendations. Cons: After taking a look at what needed to be done to install the backflow preventer, the technicians informed me that the job would be approximately $1,500, which was the price that my landscaper told to me to expect. Later in the day, I get a call from Domination, informing me that the estimate came in at $2,300. Since Domination's pricing was not competitive with other contractors, I decided not to proceed with their services. At this time, I was informed that there was a $129 estimate fee, which was the first time I was informed of this, at least to my recollection. I felt like I never consented to this so I asked if this could be waived. Later, I receive a call from the owner, where he explained his rationale as to why the estimate was $2,300, citing labor costs, materials, permits, and complaining about travel cost for his technicians. This was a strange and unprofessional conversation, using language such as "We want to do a good job, we are not here to f#ck around". Technicians were also extremely late for my 8:00am-9:00am appointment, arriving at approximately 10:30am. They also held me up for about an hour or so while they waiting for their admins to finalize a quote. For me, If your travel costs are so high, don't service Chestnut Hill residents and up charge them. Use professional language and effectively communicate to your customers.
