As I came in I quickly noticed their 20+ tap list that was filled with beers all over Europe. Knowing I wanted to start with something Belgian I chose a quad and settled into my seat at the bar. The owner, Yannick, was extremely friendly and more than willing to talk. It made for a good time chatting as I drank through his beer list.

There's one in the town I live at back in the US, but I've never seen a place that offers this concept for beers. During my time in Annecy a travel buddy told us he had read about it in a travel book he was carrying so we decided to check it out after dinner. The bar has a rustic feel to it and it looked like the beers were switched out frequently. I can imagine beer loving locals come here often to try all the newest arrivals and seasonal brews. We didn't really do the whole concept (we had the staff assist us in getting beers served instead of doing it ourselves), but we did grab a couple of beers. These were more crafty beers from micro breweries which we really loved. I can't remember now if there was any food served here, I think this is a great spot to go out for drinks with friends after dinner.

The bartender was super nice and courteous. I returned again that Saturday and it was considerably busier, but still friendly, efficient service. The place has an "Irish Pub" kind of vibe which is very casual and inviting. They are usually showing Football on the televisions, so this is a fantastic place to have a pint or two and watch some footie. The outdoor seating area overlooking the cobblestone street is absolutely charming and one of my favourite spots to enjoy a beer. Fishermen's pub will be seeing a lot of me in the next few months. I highly recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy a beer or cocktail in a friendly, casual environment.

It sticks in my mind because some girl decided that she didn't want to hang around with her mum any more, and wanted to hang around me, and the fact that my French is pretty bad didn't really disuade her.
