We're hungry and cold. Unfortunately all places in Annecy serve dinner at 7pm, so 1 hour to go. We decided to back track to Captain Pub for some drinks. Hot ones. We sat at a table and ordered a hot chocolate and a tea. The place was really nice and heated unlike L'Estaminet (where we went to dinner). The waitress was attentive and we were able to stay there for an hour just with our measly orders. The place is packed though so gotta get cozy with the French and the tourists.

If I could have my own pub I would make sure it looked exactly like Captain pub. This pub is so cute, cozy, and well laid out. I love all the little decorations and adornments and it's the perfect place to escape from the hoards of tourists outside. I love how they serve free crackers and chips with your drinks. Actually, I love how french people always give me free food with my drinks! Anyways, I would definitely come here again even with Captain Peg Leg a.k.a. the moody bartender that works inside.

Good fries, but wish they had bottled ketchup!

Ambiance is great, Guinness is creamy and French fries delicious! Only wish they had bottles of ketchup opposed to the packets - blew through 10 of those quickly. Wasteful! I like a lot of ketchup when the fries are thick and wedge cut.

I came here for a quick tea/ snack on a Monday night. Service was a bit slow; it took sometime for the waiter to come and get our orders. Food (tapas) came quite fast though. We only had tapas, so can't really comment much if the food here is generally good or not. Apparently this place is well recommended by locals. Maybe if I come on different night, it'd be more lively?

We decided ok fine we'll just order a pizza but noticed the tables around us being served pasta dishes. I asked a French couple next to us and they translated for us and we all found out the French were given a totally different menu from us with more choices. Not impressed by that in the least. I might be a foreigner but I am a most respectful guest and was annoyed by this. The French couple helped us order spaghetti bolognese which was ok but ever so nice of them. Would not return here.

The wine we were recommended was fantastic and reasonable. Around 20 Euro. We had to have a second bottle. The pizza was on the most tasty doughs I have ever had. My favorite was the mozzarella, tomato and arugula pizza. My husband and son loved the spicy pepperoni, mushroom, sausage, and peppers pizza. Cannot recall the name but that is what was on it. The sizes of the pizzas were generous as well. Wish that we are there again the next night. Had a bad experience the next night for almost twice the cost. I will leave my first trip to Europe with this restaurant as one of the highlights!

Jessica who was behind the bar shaking things up was one of the owners I believe and her other right hand was the fab Jean Baptiste. Both were so nice and great to chat with. They had a great story. The drinks! Negronis, boulevardiers, Cab franc wine and Vieux carre. We had some pretty fabulous cocktails. The playlist they were playing was outstanding ! Some great oldies and just great music. Whoever does that part deserves recognition. We definitely closed this place down, but had the best time.

I say this because in one of the pictures we saw a rooftop view but when we arrived it was just a two story, house-like ambiance, which at the end of the day worked out anyway as we were very comfortable and it wasn't noisy at all, but still very confusing. The drinks were out of this world! I got the shark in a bikini or something along those lines and it was served in a Tiki cup while my friend's was served in this little stout looking jar. My drink wasn't too strong which is exactly how I like my cocktails so I was very impressed. All in all I would definitely come back here if ever in Lyon again :)

With…read morethe dark decor, terrace seating and excellent cocktails just a couple blocks from the lake- l'atelier is worth a stop if you ever find yourself in eaux vives. Heck, even if you're across town, l'atelier is worth the hike! As I was doing a bit of a quick cocktail tour of the neighborhood, I limited myself to one cocktail, but the truth is that my one cocktail was so good that I don't think I would have ordered another that might have challenged the experience. The Gin Geneva Gin is out of this world- with gin, lemon, mango and basil the drink hits all the right notes. Plus, the drinks are served with less fuss than other cocktail bars in Geneva and at a slightly better price (I'm thinking of la verre Monique in Plainpalais). 5 stars!!!

It was definitely a perfect place to start the evening at. They have outside seating, but it seemed like the only people placed outside was the smokers. And as I'm a non-smoker plus the weather was a little too cold, I chose to sit inside. The place was full of people but not too crowded, which made it possible to have a chat while enjoying your drink. There were plenty of seating, but it seemed like if you are more than 5 people, it would be hard to find a table that fits. My friend and I both got the same drink, which was the "Rom of passion" (picture attached, sorry had a few sips). It's a nice drink, but it was a little too sweet for my taste (I'm more of a sweet and sour girl). The service there is flawless. Well dressed busboys are quick to clear the table.
