This was my favorite bar in Lyon by far. Checks all the boxes. Great menu , service, quality and ambiance. The bartenders we interacted with while we sat at the bar were so cool and happy to talk to us about drinks and their knowledge which in France if your a bartender it's an actual profession. A job taken Seriously. They know their stuff! We came here a couple of nights and had Kir Royales and espresso martinis and some of their signature creations off the menu as well. Lloyd made me a mezcal drink which he created based on on my likes so that was kinda cool. Loved this bar and everyone needs to try it if your a cocktail drinker. It's not huge inside so get there early or make reservations. We got lucky both times with finding bar seating. Fabulous drinks and amazing service from Emma, Lloyd and Laura! Sultry is the vibe here and the cocktails are well made. Come for the espresso martini and cozy ambiance. Seating is booth style but can get a little tight and there are a few stools for bar seating. Jazz was the music playlist on my night and it was perfect with the vibe. read more

I just spent a long weeked in Lyon - and being a cocktail fan - i didn't want to miss a visit to the much lauded l'Antiquaire to see if they lived up to they cocktail hype. If you feel like reading no further: in short, they do. If you are a serious fan of cocktails, you'll be more than happy with a stop here. The menu is respectable with 14 suggested cocktails. And, while I ordered straight off the menu, they suggested that if we wanted something that wasn't listed, just to let them know. And, it looks like they have the skill and stock to please if that's the case. While I've seen many great cocktail bars that adhere to the speakeasy type feel, the nice thing about l'Antiquaire, is that the vibe is a bit more laid-back. Staff are stylishily attired, but the place has a refreshingly casual and welcoming air. The tiny terrace in front allows for al fresco imbibers to take a cocktail and lounge in pleasant weather. And, indoors has nice touches like the collection of shakers and other cocktail accoutrements, without being naff and pretensious. The menu has a nice range of vodka based drinks for the less adventurous to choices a bit more challenging. I was particularly impressed by the level of service, which was serious without being over the top. Just the right combination of attention to the customer without smothering or making one feel conspicuous. Another touch I liked, which I don't find it most cocktail bars of this genre in France is that there is a sort of 'happy hour' Before 22h00, drinks are 8 Euros (10 Euros after) I was there early evening for an apero cocktail (or two) so I can't speak to the late night feel...but from what I've seen, I'd easily slip in again on my next visit for a topnotch cocktail. read more

Rarely seen that much quality in this town. Barmen are nice, smily and pretty technical. Cocktails are elaborated, tasty and charmingly surprising. The wood cushion bar and the jazz music set a smooth groove miles away from those pubs, ayers boat and all. Guys, if you're on a date with a nice lady, after a diner at Mozzato, this is the best place to end up and take a couple of drinks (and more). Cocktails are priced around 10-12€ but once again, like all my superlatives, totally worth it. Well crafted. I witnessed one of the highest levels of bartending in Europe. We ordered vodka martinis, a glass of champagne and vodka Collins, all were amazing. The bartender and barback were very nice. We asked for recommendations of restaurants and they went out of their way to call and find places that were open around 9/10 pm. It was fun practicing French with them. Their patience was much appreciated. I would absolutely return to this bar. Great vibes and atmosphere. Love the jazz music in the background! read more

As far as speakeasy-style bars go, this place is a hit. I was visiting from Canada and work for a cocktail bar so my expectations were pretty high. Service was professional, though one of the bartenders thoroughly ignored us the entire time we were seated at the bar (his colleague made up for it). Drinks were well-balanced and flavourful, and the atmosphere was relaxed and cozy. If you're in Lyon and are into craft cocktails, it's definitely worth checking this place out. read more

I have been here twice in the last two weeks, and I am going back this evening. I love craft cocktails, and L'Antiquaire makes good ones. I love the vibe of this small, intimate bar, and I sit inside to enjoy the atmosphere and the great blues music. The drinks are not cheap, but the drinks are well-made and the service is good. We were visiting Lyon on vacation. We are in the hospitality industry as well. The guys behind the bar were exceptional. They treated us like we were in their home, showing us all this amazing booze that we don't get in the states and letting us taste things. We stayed for like four hours! We ended up getting engaged over two zombies later in the evening- that's how special and magical this place is. We would love to return the favor we're the gents to ever come to New York.
