Dropped by Hello Pho for a late lunch on a Saturday and was pleasantly surprised by how cute the interior was! Really pleasant setting to walk into. We were seated pretty quickly and both opted to get banh mis as we were having a strangely timed lunch. I also grabbed an iced coffee to go along with it. My friend had the chicken banh mi while I had the fried tofu and tbh they were great! The bread had that soft crunch that I always crave and the tofu banh mi had enough flavor where I didn't feel sad as a vegetarian. The menu itself had good veggie options and you could get almost everything with tofu instead of meat! They even had a vegetarian banh xeo which looked yummy. Prices were fair for the portions though a bit steep for certain things. They had sriracha at each table but also had a chili oil that was delish. You know that was put all over my food lolol My only qualm was the iced coffee -- it was definitely delicious and strong, but gosh the amount of ice in the drink was RIDICULOUS. Delicious pho. I was able to order via the yelp app and by the time I arrived, my food was ready and hot! I've never tried this place before but have seen it often. I'm not gonna lie the rating on the window kinda scared me a little but my husband and I just washed the vegetables and ensured to cook the meat through prior to eating the pho. I also was able to get a soda and I thought it was neat how they seal their drinks, basically sealing them all like boba style so that was helpful to prevent from spills while I tried to get out of the restaurant. If I could give it zero stars, I absolutely. I was having a decent time with my husband and we both ordered food that wasn't terrible. And my husband eats one of my mint leaves which knocks over another one and he sees a little worm. A literal worm crawling in our food. Won't come back. The takeout experience is much different than dining in. Ordered 2 pho combinations with steak and meatball. We also ordered extra meat which they gave to us raw. If I pay for food, I expect it to be cooked. Having to come home and cook it defeats the purpose of takeout in my opinion. I think I'll move on from this place. read more

So first when we arrived the Health Department Certificate was rated "Okay" . Probably should have taken the warning... I got brisket pho, it was okay, nothing amazing. My mom ordered their pancake with chicken, it was super greasy, it was just laying in grease, when showing them how much grease it had, they said we have to fry it to make it crispy. The bowl sizes are pretty huge - definitely recommend getting a medium size pho bowl unless you're super super hungry or want to have some for lunch the next day. Service was good - fairly attentive and friendly. Lots of food items on the menu but my friends and I all just got pho. I ordered the tofu pho and my friends the steak and chicken pho. The pho itself was filling, the broth was full of flavor and there was a good amount of veggies and noodles, I wish they would add more tofu pieces in the tofu pho, felt like there was only 3 pieces within the bowl. Might as well just order a veggie pho with a side of tofu. The drinks were okay, my friend got the strawberry lychee tea and said it tasted like medicine. The peach lychee tea was mid. I also wished they had provided each pho bowl with its own plate of bean sprouts, lime, and toppings rather than placing one plate for all three pho bowls - we were confused on whether it was for all of us or if they were going to bring out more. I also noted my friend had asked for a side of tofu and never got it. The pho was okay. I've had better tasting pho. The most disappointing thing was their vermicelli dish. Their grill pork was decent but the eggroll and vermicelli sauce were not good. Nestled right off of South Meridian lay Hello Pho, a diamond in the rough of a restaurant! Was recommended this establishment by a very close friend of mine. Boy did the restaurant ensure everything was marked off the list for a great customer experience, and fulfilling portions! We ordered 3 Grilled Chicken Rice Dishes, 1 Yakisoba Dish, 1 Beef Fried Rice dish, Pot Stickers, Bubble Teas to go around. The service after we entered was immediate, and at first glance you feel energized by the lights and accent colors, excitable even just to sit down! Our waiter was very patient as it was our first time there. There wasn't too many items on the menu, however the taste of everything made up for the lack of menu items. The Yakisoba noodles were cooked to perfection, gently seasoned, and well received to the tastebuds. Plenty of vegetables in the dish too, all fresh! The Grilled Chicken Rice Dishes were INCREDIBLE! The chicken was cooked so juicy, the texture slightly charred on the edges, just made the flavor really pop, even before dipping it in the fish sauce that came with. Not everyone was a fan of the sauce but if you want a REALLY nice dip, get the sauce that the Pot Stickers were part of. WOO!!!! Sweet kick to it but not overly sweet, just right. The Beef Fried Rice was incredible!!! Everything was cooked with love and patience! Nothing was overcooked or undercooked, served hot and fresh, aroma hitting your senses before they even placed the dish before me, SO GOOD! I'm a huge fan of Vietnamese. For those who were fortunate enough to experience Pho Puyallup, you will be hard pressed to find any pho, any Vietnamese bun, spring rolls, etc., that will match that place. It's nice to have another option for Pho, but, the spring rolls were bland. At $3.75 for one, I won't order again. There was nothing special about them. Lettuce, rice wrap, noodles, meat. I've had better. We both had the Vietnamese noodle bowls. Locally, I have found a better option elsewhere. The fish sauce overwhelmed the fresh cucumbers. The pork was flavorful. The staff were friendly. They were timely with the order, and it took no more than 15 minutes to prepare. The establishment was clean. It is a step above a "strip mall" pho spot, even though they are in a strip mall. I'll likely go back and try pho. Just to have a balanced perspective. After 10 hours of no power, I was dying to get out the house and eat something hot and there's nothing better than a bowl of hot, steamy pho on a rainy PNW day. The problem is, after moving to South Hill almost 3 years ago from the city, I have yet to find a good viet restaurant with good pho. Luckily, hello pho is now open and has saved me from having to drive all the way to Federal Way or Seattle. Looks like they just had a soft opening (I saw their banner while driving down Meridian). I couldn't be more happy with my bowl of the simplest of orders - pho tai (round steak) which is what I always order when trying a place for the first time. The broth was perfect, not the best I've ever had, but definitely a drastic improvement over the other places in the area I've tried. They also aren't cheap on the noodles or meat content. And don't sleep on house sauce they serve with your meal. It's savory, it's sweet, and has some kick. Dip you slices of beef in it - perfection. Broth will be ever better if you order with some of the other cuts of beef with fat in them. The decor is pretty upscale for a pho joint but I get that since it's located in non-ethnic suburban Puyallup. The staff was super friend and the food came out fast (it's a pho joint...duh). I'm really looking forward to trying some of their rice dishes and bun noodle bowls. They do have bubble tea is well. It was a little pricey but I get it, everything is more expensive now since covid plus they have to charge a premium for the location. Plus the portions are generous and it's a pretty big bowl for a medium. Easily worth the $12 though. The restaurant is located in the strip mall that houses the original pancake house. Parking can be messy during lunchtime (there's definitely not enough spaces for all the businesses). Do yourself a favor and park in front of pancake house and walk instead of trying to cram your car in the tiny parking spots in front. Hope this place succeeds and does well. You know it's legit when 80% of the other people eating were asian. That's a definite tell. Look forward to coming back real soon. Maybe this weekend. :-) read more

The Pho soup base had a tinge of sweetness. Not bad but different. The Pork bahn mi was...well, pork bahn mi. So it wasn't bad at all, just nothing about my sandwich really stood out to me. If I were to come back I'd prob still order it...because bahn mis are good. For dessert, got the coffee with boba. It was definitely...sad. I was sad. :( I just wanted some coffee.
