I've never left a bad review on Yelp or on any other platform, but after today, I really have to do this. Today I received one of the most unprofessional voicemails I've ever gotten from a business. 7 months ago, I first brought my dog here after liking how they cut my dog's hair. I probably brought him here to be groomed like about 4-5 times if not more, and every time I picked him up, not one complaint or issue was brought up to me about my dog. Now, a week before my dog's grooming appointment, I receive a voicemail and text about refusing to take any more appointments for my dog because he "sits down" too much when being groomed. HE'S OLD. He's almost 14 years old. What do you expect him to do? It's your job to know how to handle dogs when being groomed. Not only that, but why wasn't the "issue" brought up to me after the first or second visit? And it's not like they didn't charge extra for my cocker spaniel's weight, because they did. It's not like they didn't know his age. You literally fill out a profile for your dog, detailing their age and everything. I'm just disappointed in the lack of communication and crappy treatment of a customer. If they only know how to handle Malteses or other small breeds, they should just say that. And honestly, if you have a medium sized dog, I would not recommend you bring him/her here. They're apparently not equipped for handling it. Which is fine, its your business. But why not charge more for dogs that require more maintenance? Regardless of a husky or not. I have two huskies. One that is quiet and very easy to groom and not very hairy. The other is fluffier and louder. They are all different. Please don't deceive customers and describe your business to make it appear as providing a service that you do not. Also, someone posted a picture of a husky saying that it was groomed at this business. If this is a new policy you have where you discriminate against certain breeds, have at it. Its your business. They did an excellent job and we will definitely back next month! My Chase is about 25 lbs, 8 months old and this was this very first time at groomer's. It's frustrating how the owners complain every time I leave my dog with them. I'm a paying customer, so I don't understand why they complain about my dog being noisy and stubborn (that's a lack of their skill). Also, they seem to change the price every time I visit ($55 to $65 and now $70 within 8 months, lol). I wish they would pay more attention to details like the length or style of my dog's fur during grooming. Whenever I try to mention these points, the owners' expressions sour, and they don't even smile. I really don't recommend this place AT ALL. I will look for another grooming shop. read more

Grooming style: 5 stars; did exactly as I had asked and I was very specific about what I asked. Transparency: 1 star; did not honestly reveal that they sliced his tail. I understand small cuts may easily happen as dogs move around, especially because I usually groom him myself every two weeks, but concealing such information calls to question various ethical concerns. Background: 2 y/o Mini Schnauzer, has extensive experience being groomed (has been groomed by this specific grooming salon previously as well), and I admit he's yappy whenever people come and go. Had my dog groomed yesterday and he came back acting a bit off (wouldn't bark at all once he got home for 10 hours and kept sitting/standing and staring off into space). I figured maybe something happened at the groomer's but my mom, who picked him up, said she EXPLICITLY asked how the session went and the groomer said he was whiny but all else was fine. I figured he might have had an off day at Kim's Grooming and waited to see before making any assumptions. I realized he was licking his tail often, but again gave the groomer the benefit of the doubt because I know his tushy tends to get itchy when the smaller bits of fur that is shaved off falls in that area. He continued this behavior throughout the day today and would occasionally whimper when laying down, so I looked at his butt/tail area and found UNDERNEATH his tail that a layer of skin had been SEVERED OFF. Knowing how (admittedly) dramatic he is and would have shrieked, there is no way the groomer didn't notice he had been cut. I just wish I had been informed so that I could tend his wound instead of watching him lick his butt/tail area thinking he just had a post-groom itch. Hoping my giving Kim's the benefit of the doubt doesn't lead to an infection on his tail. The lack of disclosure of his wound is what is upsetting and makes me question whether the cut is the only reason he looked off/traumatized and didn't bark at all. Really makes the ethics of this establishment questionable. Great attention to detail with directions and a cute cut, but I would rather go somewhere I know my groomer will openly tell me there was a little mishap, which is more than understandable. Sucks to have to watch my fur baby stop mid-step and lick his tail + whimper. read more

We only receive reservations, so there is a lot of damage. I replied I am so sorry but had an emergency and it was last minute and that is why I want to reschedule other day or if possible 1pm same day. He replied again - The reservation time is 11 p.m. and there is another dog at 1:00 p.m., so it can't be made. If you call 10:55 and set another time, you can't. I just canceled the appointment. I don't know how else to explain it to this guy, so inconsiderate. read more

I loved my first few visits to Hello Kim's! I have a 75 lb lab mix and was genuinely touched that they treated her so well the first few times. During our last visit it appeared that they were upset that I was there. When I picked my dog up she didn't look nice and clean like she usually does. They charged me much more than I had ever paid so I was really taken aback by the service and the lack of quality but gave them the benefit of the doubt. Yesterday I made a future appointment for my dog but received a call today from someone who was very unprofessional stating they couldn't find my chart but when they finally found it they said they changed their policy and no longer groom large dogs so they canceled our appointment. I guess they just deleted us without any warning. If you have a dog they will accept, I highly recommend Hello Kim's. They are skilled and were usually very kind. It's just disappointing to receive bad treatment because *they* failed to communicate their own policies to existing customers. I took my puppy here for his first grooming with me. I wanted to find a place where he would not be traumatized going to the groomers and was so happy to see he was fine afterwards. His fur was soft, ears cleaned, nails trimmed nicely, and all appropriate areas trimmed for hygiene. The cut was also super cute. The owners are so friendly and gentle. Brought my two dogs here for the first time today. I called ahead of time to ask for an estimate and they requested to see my dog before giving me a price. I came in and they weighed my dogs. My little dog weighed 15 lbs which is priced at $45 and my bigger dog cost $65. He's 11 years old.. the last time I brought him here, he came back with a huge cherry eye (if you look up a cherry eye, it happens with your dog's eye is hit with a lot of force) I understand grooming is stressful, and especially grooming my dog.. however.. under no circumstances should he have come back with a cherry eye. He is a small 11 year old Maltese. There is nothing he can do that could threaten your life to the point of smacking him so hard that a blood vessel in his eye comes out.. I was able to get him treated for it. I do not recommend people come here. (REPLY) my mom also previously stated that she heard one of the groomers yell and my dog. Telling him to STAY STILL. My mom then later told the owner and asked if u could not yell at my dog. I didn't bring it up when I picked him up bc I couldn't communicate with the person at the front desk. First time for my baby Milo. I am very picky to choose food, grooming service, daycare for my Milo. He has extremely sensitive skin so I asked them no to use metal clipper on his skin and told them not too short but shorter for his facial hair. It took about 3 hours to groom him and when I went to pick him up, he looked much cleaner and lighter. Also they do not put them in a small cage after grooming's done but put them in a mini individual divided waiting room until I picked him up. I really like it too.
