Nearing the end of October of this year, I called Heller's to fix my fireplace because it wasn't working. I was informed that the next available appointment was in two weeks. I accepted the appointment for 11/13/18. On 11/13/18 about two hours after my scheduled appointment time, I received a call stating the service tech had an issue with his truck and they appointment would have to be rescheduled. Someone from Heller's called three or for times to reschedule and I never called them back because service as a family member fixed the issue. Fast forward to 11/26/18, a technician shows up at my house while I'm at work. My mom let's him in not knowing the fire place was already fixed. The tech is in my home for 5 mins accepts payment in the the form of a check from my mom in the amount of $104.50 AND charges my credit card for the same amount. When I called today, I spoke with their service manager who is a complete a__hole. He had the audacity to say it is my fault and I am still responsible for the charge because I didn't call them to tell them I no longer needed their services is and no one should have let them in when they showed up. You would think that the service was no longer needed if your calls to me went unanswered nor did I call to reschedule. As far as not letting the service guy in my home, my mother didn't know I got the fireplace fixed which is why she let him in. How about showing up two weeks later without a rescheduled appointment? The Easton service manager is a complete jerk and needs to learn how to effectively deal with customers. I will be looking for new services asap. I will say that another manager did call shortly after I told the jeck to "eff off" and apologized for the mix up but it is too late. What's done is done and service manager I spoke with should be fired. read more

Overtime, we've used most all of the gas suppliers around here and Heller's really is the best. They come exactly when I ask, listen to issues if I have any, and are prompt with billing too. We needed to move our tank and got plenty of help from them with the project. Thanks again. read more

Terrible people to deal with. They don't send a bill, leave it in the door or hang it somewhere but when the weather is bad it gets ruined or lost. No reminder bill, the just turn it off and demand extra money to turn it on again. Their billing system is a joke and it's just a way to get more money out of you even if you've been a customer for over ten years! Find someone else. read more

The Service at Heller's Gas is abysmal. I requested some information and Connor took nearly 2 months to follow up an email. I'm also awaiting a $ 25 Credit to be applied to my Bill ... I shall call them tomorrow to tell them there "Last Chance" may be passed them by, and evaluate utilizing another Propane company. It seems the Zombie Apocalypse is upon us. Not like the dramatic television/film depictions, but rather no one's "Awoke" or participating in their vocational endeavors of listening, responding & executing what they should, to keep the customer's they have. read more

Heller Gas should be ashamed of themselves. Got a call from them today telling me I owe them $ 230.00 asked what that was for, my bill is paid. She informed me late charges and fees. Now over the winter I became very sick in my house, found out it was a faulty gas regulator they installed on my tanks and charged me 114.00 to install that regulator. My appliances and propane heater was not operating properly and that caused burnt gases. I had the regulator replaced and never was credited for the faulty one. Now comes the corona virus, loss of work and unemployment benefits still not here since 04/2020. This lady had the nerve to say to me "If you paid your bills this wouldn't of happened" Seriously lady stop charging finance charges of $5.25 and $9.95 late fees plus charging me on 7/13/20 $ 114.50 to pull a regulator that should not of been pulled. Guess putting on regulators and pulling them off they charge you 114.50 either way looks like this company sc**ws people left and right. read more

I purchased a home that had a heller's gas tank on it. We were given the tank and its contents as part of the sale. We wanted nothing to do with propane (our house is all electric, it's not helpful to have it). They tried to force us to keep it and pay for what was inside. It took us giving them legal paperwork for them to process that we owned what was inside. I told them that I wanted to terminate service with them and just get paid back for the gas inside. They said that they were fine with that and proceeded to pick up the tank. They had no follow up communication, and when I called them, they said that they now charge a pickup fee for the tank and that the gas in there wasn't worth enough to process any refund. Even knowing that we legally owned the gas and that there was never any mention of a refund, they refused to either give back the gas or pay us anything. This company is a bunch of bait and switching crooks. I wish I never had any interaction with them and caution anyone from ever dealing with them. Please, whatever you do, never use Heller's Gas. read more

I switched to Heller Gas in 2019 because their prices were reasonable. Service was good until this season. I put a online request in for a delivery on Jan 11, 2022 when my tank was at 15%and they called me on Jan 13 at 6pm canceling my delivery due to a lack of drivers and to call back on Monday, Jan 17 to reschedule. I called back and they told me they are only filling customers that have a monitored tank and since I own my tank and I am a at will customer I can go anywhere for propane. Horrible and unreliable service. They do not care if you freeze to death. Heller Gas SUCKS! I went back to the previous propane company I used which ALWAYS had excellent service and they cut their prices to be very competitive. read more

DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT USE this company!! I live in a townhouse and I have used Heller gas for the past 15 years. They never had a problem with the tank being "blocked". Until 5 months ago. I got a phonecall telling me that they cannot fill out gas tank because the hose won't reach to the back of our house. They added they had recently changed their policies and they can no longer walk across our neighbors yard to fill our tank. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?! The neighbor has no problem with them walking across his yard. But they won't grandfather me, even though I have been their customer for so long. The lazy a** delivery drivers always say that its blocked because its Friday and they want to go home. The manager is a POS and so is all of the little office employees. Oh did I mention that the company forced me to update my gas lines and charged me $800 dollars for it!? read more

I would NOT use Hellers, they would just show up to fill even though I had asked them not to because I was getting weekly fills because "they were in the area". Eventually I got the online/digital tank monitor. I noticed the gauge on the tank was pretty spot on with the online monitor. One day during the winter they showed up to fill, I saw them pull in, I checked the tank to see gallons/percentage in the tank. After the left I checked the updated amount. When I was charged they charged me for an additional 30-40 gallons and when I called about it they tried to tell me the tank monitoring has a -/+ 15% accuracy difference. But my tank gauge aligned with the monitor, the pretty much they charged me over $100 extra for my fill - which they're already over priced as it is. The rep in the phone said they would have a IT guy call me, still nothing to this day read more

These guys installed propane for my generator - told me the pressure was low but they couldn't find a leak so obviously it's the generator. Had the manufacturer come to take a look and within a minute he pointed out they didn't follow the gas installation specs I had given them. Another round of calls with Heller and finally a visit and they say their service manager doesn't agree with the manufacturer's specs. Seriously? This is propane not air! You're gonna argue with the manufacturer and leave me to hope things will work and not blow up? They finally agree to order a new regulator - only a part of the specifications as they still think the line size is just fine but of course they never come back. Two months later after hearing nothing and making multiple calls they finally tell me they never ordered the part, that they think it's hooked up just fine and no the service manager won't be calling me back. He needs to speak to the manufacturer rep before they will do anything to help. So much for customer service. Thankfully my fabulous generator installer and now advocate calls the service manager and gets Heller to agree to come back - although they say he has to meet them at my home to discuss. Date scheduled but of course with a window of ... PM... PM? Does that mean noon to 11pm? I am asking the installer to be available all afternoon and evening to meet them when they get around to it... these guys have nerve. So guess what happens? They show - installer can't get here in time and they leave... no fix, no apology... just their stalwart opinion that they know more than they know. I told the techs that I would be calling another gas company and the response was "I don't care" ... Just to add insult to injury, they emailed me as I "refused service" and wanted to understand what my issues was. I get it's the pandemic - I am sure they are short staffed but a service manager deciding to ignore the correct way to install a gas line seems less about staff shortages and more about a shortage of logic and care for safety standards. read more

I would give a zero if possible. DO NOT use these crooks. When I signed up with them 4 years ago they never said I was locked in for 2 years. I stayed with them and tried to work with them when I got a whole house generator. They Jerked me around and was on hold with every customer service rep and manager several times for extended periods of time. I then purchased my own tank and was giving them back their tank with 25% left. They said they would refund me the balance after they weighed the tank. I got in touch with them to see the progress and they said I was not intitled for a refund due to a cancellation fee??? I told them to stick my $130.00 up his a$$. Heller's installed a tank for our oven. Turns out we had a leak because they installed the line improperly - fine, things happen. A few months later, a second, brand new tank shows up on our property with no communication, and almost $400 is taken out of our bank account without telling us. My husband immediately called them asking why, and they said because we used so much gas, they were doing us a favor by adding a second tank (that we did not ask for). We reminded them that the reason why we went through so much gas was because of the gas leak due to the faulty installation from their installers. We had them come and remove the tank from our property because it was completely unnecessary. They refused to give us our money back and put it into a credit account though. But they started sending us bills for delivery charges without using the credits available (almost $400 worth). We called and they said that had to be used for another service??? Then they told us that the credits expire in December of 2023. It's July and we barely use our stove at all in the summer, so there's no way we'll go through that much money. I don't understand how it's legal to take money without communication and refuse to give it back. What if that money needed to go towards childcare or groceries? This is straight-up theft. read more

Hi, we live in Sierra View in Blakeslee. We were customers of Heller's Gas that on Rt. 115 for about 15 years. We used gas for our fireplace. We had two 24 gallons tanks and technicians would come once a year to fill the tanks with gas. Interestingly enough, they were managing to fill even full tanks!!!! And, unfortunately, it happens to us not once and not twice. And good luck to go to office try to proof that you are not crazy idiot. Their technicians the most honest employees! And we are customers are Liars! So, after 15 years of "good" service our patience reached the limit. When at this time again after whole year not using that fireplace even once, they managed to fill one of our tanks with 23.4 gallons of gas (keep in mind tanks were full). MIRACLE! I really have no idea how they scrutinize their equipment to fill FULL TANK with 23.4 gallons of GAS. Liars! Liars! Liars! We finally decided to terminate their service. And what do you think? They didn't pay us even $0.01 (a penny)?! Do you mind? They picked up 2 full tanks of gas and said that they applied cost of it to cover costs of technicians and equipment they use for picking up. I couldn't believe my ears! This is how they appreciate the 15 years of loyalty, and this is how they will treat any customer for termination of their service. This is pretty bad business practice, very unethical and unprofessional. They are big LIARS and THIEFS! Please think twice before going into business with this company. Be really careful and read customers reviews. People won't complain about nothing. I'm pretty sure there always a reason and a story behind that motivates people to write reviews. So, at this point, after lovely conversation with customer service at Heller's gas, stupidly enough (sorry my bad) I expected to get refund at least for the one full tank of gas (I decided to close my eyes at the fact that they filled full tank of gas) and getting nothing from that conversation and no even a penny of the refund, I decided to write this long review. I'm really sorry for taking your time. But hope it will help you with your decision to use or not to use this company. Good luck! Lena D. read more

Buyer beware!! I started using Heller's gas this year. They topped off my tank with 7 gallons of propane and charged me $234. Yes, $234 for 7 gallons!!! They said it is because I didn't use enough gas this year. I have tried numerous times to discuss this with their "boss" but he never calls back and the lady in the office has a really bad attitude. THIS COMPANY IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST PROPANE SUPPLIER!!! STAY AWAY!! They are incompetent, have TERRIBLE customer service, miss appointments even when your gas is low, and, for some brilliant reason, TERMINATED EMERGENCY DELIVERY WITHOUT NOTIFYING THEIR CUSTOMERS. If you want to be left in the literal dark, have your pipes freeze (even though you pre-bought thousands of pounds of gas), and call only to get transferred to a bunch of random people who only tell you "tomorrow" but then never show up - then this is your place! STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS! Oh and they don't return calls left on their emergency line either. They could not be worse or less professional. And frankly, their terrible service is dangerous and has placed myself, my family, and my home at tremendous risk. read more

I assume the positive reviews for this company come from satisfied customers who order gas.... get gas! Which is about the limit of the abilities of Hellers Gas. To have expectations of anything beyond that will leave you endlessly disappointed. Imagine buying a propane stove on the same day, from the same person that just sold you a 500 lb. propane tank along with the delivery service.... and then they deliver a natural gas stove. This of course is you, the customer's fault. The stove was delivered months ago and only on the second day of June, when finally all the parts that were not sent in the original delivery finally arrive.... thats when you find out.... this is a natural gas stove..... conversion kit needed. You later receive a call, from what I can only assume is a customer service person who tells you no no no..... not tomorrow... sometime next week at the earliest. When you object, you, the customer, are told.... DON'T WORRY IT'S NOT HEATING SEASON. So for all those reviews that have accolades for this company and their customer service.... I truly hope you need nothing more then, require gas.... get gas..... for if you ever need what I believe is the slightest more service and/or understanding from Hellers.... well then I look forward to your soon to be posted 1-star review of sheer and utter disappointment. Updates to follow. read more

I've been a costumer for 3yrs this past year they went from great to deplorable .

This company is a total scam. They delivered to my house and I didn't want it. The driver says it's automatic delivery by the home owner. The home owner refused to pay the bill and Heller's gas then takes me to the magistrate for the gas. The driver put gas in an empty tank, opened the valve without telling me or my family. Gas leaked into our home and could have killed my family. Now they send the sheriff to come levy my belongings to pay the bill. How can this company do such shabby and dishonest business? The worst! I dealt with this company since they took over micron in Frackville... I have to say from day one it has been nothing but problems! Not only did we run out of gas multiple times, Easter Sunday being one, but they left our gate open to our yard leaving our dogs out to run the streets!?! We called to cancel service many times and they just gave us better offers/ removing delivery fees, convincing us to stay.... Well after numerous attempts to cancel we finally got through to them by disconnecting the tank and putting it in the driveway.... So nearly nine months later we got a bill for gas we received in august of 2020... gas that we didn't want by the way!!!! Not only did we get a bill but it was double for late fees and charges???? Im gonna be done here, if your on here looking for advice.... Stay away from this company!!! They have done nothing for us but cause us grief for the past 4 years read more

Heller's Propane is exceptional. I'm former military and I'm not easy to please. One of my jobs was the operation of a Forward Area Refuel Point for trucks and rotary wing aircraft. Had some issues I had to work out w Hellers gas! In beginning of "pandemic" lay offs" I contacted them asking for small order explaining I did not know when my next check would come! It was Early April I wasnt too worried about my heat, more for cooking as I was super low on both tanks! They agreed to send a $200 order, but accidentally got both tanks filled (which I wasn't too disappointed about honestly considering the situation....but then I was hit with the monthly late charges! I was so hurt as it was!!!! But I reached out to them and a actual family member contacted me directly, (for such a lrg company) he not only waived the late fees, with a sincere apology.... but gave me a credit for future gas delivery!!! Horrible company. First off their propane cost is at least a dollar more than competitors. Secondly, when I contacted them about their cost per gallon, and the possibility of an issue with my tank, Tanya ( I believe her name), assured me that the next delivery will not occur until I can be home to speak with the driver so he can conduct pressure check. HA!!! NOT ONLY did they NOT notify me of the delivery, they came at 10:30 on Sunday morning while I was at church. Better yet, not just any Sunday... NEW YEARS EVE............ I had been a customer of Heller's gas for 7 years. Each year I enter into a pre-buy contract with them and pay up front for the propane I estimate that I will need in a season. These contracts include a price per gallon and 3-4 delivery fees calculated in. When my 500 gallon tank gets down to 20% I am to call them and they usually will come within the next few days and fill my tank. A week and a half ago I had called them at 20% and was told that I would not be able to be scheduled until about 10 days from then with the forecasted weather to be in the teens (coldest week of the year). This left me uneasy and I stated that I am fairly certain I cannot be put off that long with about 140,000 BTU of heating equipment to run. I was told that they were giving preference to people that had an automated meter. I stated that why would they get preference when I am alerting you at the same tank percentage and I have already paid you for the product and the delivery. "That is just their current policy" is all I heard and I even asked if I could just get a meter on my tank as well then. About 5 days later on a Tuesday, I checked my tank and it was 6% and I called again since it was still going to be another 6 days until delivery. I was told by the person I talked to then that I should have been put on the schedule sooner and not told what the first person told me, but I would not likely get propane before the coming Saturday. I again expressed that clearly I would not make it until then. We did everything we could do to conserve gas and this came with great complaints from my children every day when they got up for school about how cold they were. Mind you, I had paid for the comfort of a warm house in advance. Thursday came and my gauge was under 5% and I was not sure how close to zero the needle was, since I had not ever seen it that low before. I called once again, was put on hold for them to speak to delivery guys. At this point I was promised they would be there first thing Friday morning. This did NOT happen! I was at work and when my wife called them, she was given an attitude and told they weren't going to come until Saturday. We had to call 2 more times to get it delivered Friday as we truly were on our last gallons of propane and you could smell the sulfur additive in the house that accumulates when your tank gets that low. The weather was in the single digits and was expected to get lower and my house was already cold. The delivery came around 8pm and was for 404 gallons which is the absolute maximum my tank can receive indicating that I was on fumes. This also necessitated a leak test as well. I DO NOT recommend Heller's to anyone looking for gas service. They are full of liars and will yes you to get you off the phone (I am still waiting for a "call back" from a manager who I was told would get back to me by the end of the day). They are a scam who is happy to take your money but to leave you in the cold when you most need them. Be warned, cheaper propane does you absolutely no good when you run out and they don't deliver it. read more

Heller gas is a scam company. PLEASE do NOT use them. They will quote you a very low price for gas so they can come out and RIP you off. They came out and turn my stove gas off and told me to call their gas repair gas because we had a stove leak. I decided to get a stove company to come out and they thought it was no way the gas Company could have saw it was a gas leak because it was ver÷y little to none.I called Heller gas company and told him that the stove was repaired. He sound unhappy about it so I ask him can they come out to give me gas and said I guess we can do that do we have your card on file. We will be there Wednesday. Wednesday a new guy came to check for leaks. This time he said we needed repairs on the outside gas line and turn the gas off completely and told us to their repair gas again. Now I was thinking why the first guy didn't see this leak. How did this big job come about now. I call the repair guy and ask those questions and he had no answers. I decided to leave them alone and call a person that test gas and he couldn't find nothing at all wrong . So I decided to be safe and call my regular gas company. It took a week to come out but when he came he said he left the gas test on for about 10 minutes and nothing was wrong. No gas leaks was to be found. I had to pay people to come out for nothing but Heller gas probably was going to charge me thousands of dollars for something that was never leaking. Don't be fool about this 1.30 per gallon cost , gave me your card numbers and information now and we charge you 1.25. Thank God someone is always home and we have cameras, because I really think that last guy was looking to do damage he looked suprised to see my husband come out the house, but still managed to say he was force to turn off the gas. read more

In moving to Pennsylvania I have had the most pleasant experiences from the installation of my washer and dryer(Lowe's) to the programming of my alarm system(Solmin's Shields). However, most recently I have had the most disappointing, exploitative, and frustrating experience with Heller's gas and propane company. The disappointing experience began with the limited amount of hours they were able to deliver gas to my home, the exploitative nature was articulated in their unfair and unaffordable pricing of gas(2x's the companies in the area) and the frustration was defined by their poor customer disservice that was supported by threats to me and my home. Heller's gas and propane experience continued with their disservice with their unreasonable expectations required to suspend and or terminate services. Overall, I would recommend that any one reading this review "Save your money, energy and time". The Heller's gas and propane company has been the most negative experience, I have had since my move to Pennsylvania. I hope this review serves to prevent anyone from having a similar experience because it's amazing out here in Pennsylvania, I am truly enjoying home ownership.
