I love it! I attended a free yoga class as a Yelp event and I was hooked! The people are so welcoming and considerate! The hot pilates class was intense but fun and by the end of the class I was beaten but felt so refreshed! They have cute dogs who lounge around the studio and are extremely nice and approachable. I signed up for a three-month membership and I am looking forward to going to the studio! Highly recommend it!

I used to come here A LOT (last year) even if it's a 35 minute drive (one way) and you always have to pay for your parking! (That's the most annoying part for me) They have a very cheap intro price if you're new. I think it's $99 for 2 months. That's very cheap for an unlimited class! Their regular price after that isn't that bad either. Their classes are hella fun! I enjoyed attending their inferno pilates, bikram yoga and buti yoga. If it's Kelly's class, expect it to be packed! She's hella good so it's understandable. I always come at least 15 minutes early so I could save a good spot. I don't mind hanging out in their lobby even if it's small and sometimes packed with people depending on what time you come. I love that they have early, midday and evening classes. And I love that they have classes 7 days a week. Although on weekends they only have morning class. Not sure if it has changed now? They have their own app btw so you could download that and plan ahead on which class you wanna attend. Sometimes they cancel classes but they always announce it ahead of time. I only stopped coming because I don't have the luxury of spending 3-4 hours each day preparing, driving and attending their class anymore. I do miss that place though. A lot. I really enjoyed working out there. I wish they'll open a branch near me! I knocked out 1 star only because it gets really annoying if you wanna use the restroom and/or changing room afterwards during a busy class. It is very limited and you need to be really patient if you wanna use it. And also, they don't limit the number of people per class so sometimes it gets too crowded for comfort.

The Hot Pilates class at Hella Yoga is one of the most challenging and rewarding classes I've ever taken. Although I work out frequently, this class always kicks my butt in the best ways possible. It takes place in a heated room, with a clubesque vibe with bumpin' music. The instructors I've worked with are all amazing and truly push you every minute of the 60 minute class. The class consists of MANY sets and MANY reps of HIIT, working the full body through both rigorous cardio and body weight exercises. I always come out sopping with sweat! Because the room is so hot and the workouts so intense, be sure to fast 2-3 hours before class and HYDRATE! I highly, highly recommend this studio and specifically the Hot Pilates class!

Wow, I think I fell in love! As a new transplant to the Bay Area, I am exploring all of the trappings the West Coast has to offer - relaxed people, beautiful weather, and intense exercise classes. I just took at Hot Pilates class at Hella Yoga and I am happy to report everything about this studio is amazing. Hella Yoga is a new addition to the Berkeley fitness scene, being open since last September. Upon entry, I was immediately greeted by Kelly, Hella Yoga's friendly owner and her mother. She walked me thru the class registration process and instructed me where to place my belongings. After I was settled, I proceeded into the studio for hot pilates - taught by Kelly! The studio itself is rather large, darkly light, and has glow in the dark features. Hot Pilates with Kelly is no joke! She is filled with great energy and power! I knew that the class would be intense when we completed our first round of bridge exercises. As I sweated thru each round, I felt Kelly's tough but positive energy. The entire class was so challenging, but amazing. Her music playlist is spectacular- it definitely helped me push thru! I loved Kelly, the Hot Pilates class, and Hella Yoga. I plan to sign up for more classes ASAP! If you're looking for a demanding workout with a studio filled with wonderful people and amazing energy - Hella Yoga is for you!

Are there usually street parking nearby in the evening? (6:30pm and after)

I usually find something but I do have to drive around to different streets to find a parking space.

The…read moreinstructors have been lovely and over-all very positive experience with the studio and the classes I have taken. However, I would strongly advise AGAINST attending their T-groups. I will explain why: These are not lead by licenses therapists, however are intended for interpersonal problems to insure. That feels problematic in itself. Additionally, because the facilitators are not licenses therapists, there are no ethical code they legally need to abide by. What became worse was when it was revealed that the facilitator, Nasiem, turned out to be roommates and friends with one of the participants in the group. So, when there became an interpersonal issue between me and her friend/rommate, Nasiem was not a neutral party. I did reach out to Nasiem to discuss my concerns and she had the opportunity to respond to me but but I never head back from her. Because of this, I did not return to group. I feel comfortable calling out this situation and this facilitator in particular because I gave her the opportunity to connect with me and for whatever reason she did not. Would highly advise against the T-groups. Please reach out to me if you would like more information on my experience. I am happy to share.

I attended Jessica's classes every Sunday for over 2 years (I waited over 6 months to obtain a coveted Sunday spot). I've been a nurse for over 30 years and suffered from chronic neck, shoulder and mid back pain. Jessica helped me to keep my mid spine open using the ROPES and my chronic pain is much less intense. ANA TOOK OVER IN JULY 2019. She studied under Jessica for 9 years and completed many IYENGAR yoga workshops! Ana adds more standing poses to open the spine along with restorative yoga. ANA'S SIDE OPENINGS HAVE BEEN THE MOST HELPFUL TO ME SINCE JULY 2019. Also, the flow from pose to pose of Ana's class is very relaxing. I highly recommend ANA FRENES AT THE TREE OF LIFE YOGA STUDIO!!!

Jess is a wonderful teacher and she really takes time to know her students/clients. She also goes around the room and modifies poses depending on how advanced of a student you are. I started off with the Beginner Series, which was a great intro to yoga. I've tried all the scheduled classes and my favorites are the rope, Iyengar and vinyasa. TIPS - parking across the street in a lot (look for the yellow Tree of Life Yoga Clients signs) - buzz to be let into the building; studio is all the way to the back and up the gray wooden stairs - get the 10 class pass for $140...worth it! Each class is 1.5 hours and there's usually no more than 8-10 per class. I've been in some classes where there were under 5 people - if you want to get in a rope class, reserve a month in advance (seriously) If you're even thinking about trying this place, DO IT. I promise you won't regret it!
