I have been a loyal customer of Heise's Plumbing for years, but today they absolutely amazed me. My brand new toilet automatically flushed my honeycomb ring into the plumbing before I had any chance to stop it. I was convinced it was gone forever. Instead of telling me there was nothing they could do, the Heise's team refused to give up. They brought in a sewer inspection camera, tracked the ring through the drain line beneath my house, carefully located it, and somehow recovered it. Watching them solve what felt like an impossible problem was incredible; They were like pipe surgeons. Their professionalism, technical expertise, determination, and kindness turned what began as a sad and frustrating morning into one I'll never forget. They literally gave me back something that is very sentimental to me. This is my third time using Heise's Plumbing, and once again the service was excellent. My main toilet was backed up and overflowing into my bathtub, so I called Heise's Plumbing. Mike scheduled Adrill to arrive between 3-5 p.m. on Memorial Day, and Adrill arrived within the promised timeframe. He quickly assessed the toilet and tub issue, went to his truck for his tools, and had everything fixed within five minutes. Adrill was professional, courteous, and efficient throughout the visit. The cost was $350, which felt a little high for such a quick repair, but it was worth it for the same-day holiday service and the professionalism provided. You really do get what you pay for. I will definitely use Heise's Plumbing again. Their quick response time and excellent service continue to impress me. read more

We had an issue where our hot water line steadily became weaker at our kitchen sink faucet which was only 14 months old recently installed during a minor remodel. I immediately thought of Heise's Plumbing as they had helped us through a clogged main issue during our Thanksgiving family celebration of all inconvenient times! Ceasar came over the next morning of my call and walked me through all of the troubleshooting steps to clear the supply lines. I decided it was also a good time to replace the angle stop which he happily did for me. It was a good thing too since he found that this had internal deterioration and would likely become a future problem. Afterwards Ceasar found there was a small leak from the built-in faucet supply line which was a faucet manufacturer defect. Culprits found and thus no more leaking and now a weak hot water pressure is fixed - all within a short time! Ceasar was very patient and professional explaining all of the steps and super polite. Service was good but their pricing not in line with industry standards. Unable to complete repairs on first visit, even though it was a common issue with Kenmore dryers. Ordered part and came out for installation, which was timely, but charged for the return visit. The thermal fuse was overcharged for as well. Researching the part, I was charged 3 times the highest price I found online. I questioned their charges and did not feel they care a whole lot about customer satisfaction or unethical pricing. This was my second service repair call with Heise, and it will be my last. I cannot recommend them to anyone. read more

We have a super old house in SF so I chose them because of the years of experience that they have. I've never had to call for a plumber but they were really knowledgeable about old houses. The receptionist was really nice and professional so she was actually the first person who made me feel like they were trustworthy. The first visit was a toilet that kept running. It took three visits to resolve a simple problem. They were good with sending someone back to look at the toilet, a total of three visits. The cost was $350. The second visit was a thumping sound coming from the water pipes in the garage. The plumber was stumped and he suggested that it was a problem with the furnace even though the water pipe was vibrating and making the noise. I suggested flushing all the pipes because it may be air, so we did that and the thumping continued. This visit was for 1 1/2 hours and cost $525. and did not resolve the problem. The plumber looked under the front pavement and said that our water meter is broken and that may be the issue. I called the city to check the water meter and they said it was okay. I won't use Heise Plumbing in the future. read more

I had a very costly and horrific experience with this company. During torrential rains, the entire bottom level of my home was filled with sewage pouring in from the street. I remembered that during a previous job, Heiss had removed a critical backflow flap from my interior pipe, telling me it was unnecessary.Several plumbers have since confirmed that this flap is critical to prevent sewage from flowing back into the house. And should NEVER be removed. I have documentation showing that their company removed it. As a direct result of this removal of the flap, my house became flooded with sewage. I am now dealing with over $22,000 in damages, including contamination to floors, furniture, walls, built-ins, and mold throughout the space. Heiss refuses to take any responsibility and will not cover any of the cost. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend being extremely cautious before hiring this company. I was told that because of my attitude, they are going to never work for me again. All I can say is hallelujah!! read more

This week when I called Heise's Plumbing to schedule the installation of a new bathroom sink faucet the friendly lady said they have raised their rates to $325.00 an hour and asked if I agreed with that amount. I said yes, but in retrospect feel that I should have called some other plumbing companies to find a cheaper rate. As it turned out, the total bill came to $725.00 which included two hours of labor for one man plus $69.75 for a new standard pop-up assembly (not sure why the one that came with the new faucet couldn't be used). Jose the plumber did a good job and I'm happy with the results. I've had previous jobs done by Heise's and their workmanship has always been top notch. Their invoice shows a new company name "Heise's and Cannon," so it appears the rate increase is explained by this change in ownership. Another change is that they no longer send you a bill and instead ask for payment onsite when they have finished working. read more

Charged an exorbitant amount of money to take pictures of our sewer pipes and would never show us the film. They claimed it was major clogged pipes caused by tree roots that were causing the sewer to back up. The San Francisco water department came out and the issue was broken pipes from street to sidewalk and it was their responsibility to repair it. It was classified as an emergency and immediately repaired it. I have never witnessed such an unprofessional company that intentionally rips people off. read more

I have used Heise's for years, maybe decades, and have always had AMAZING service. I even carry around an ancient Heise's canvas bag. And Mark is great. But with the change in ownership, prices have skyrocketed. I called today to deal with a clogged toilet, and because it's a weekend they said they would charge $625/hr. I asked if they charged per quarter hour, but no. It's $625, even if it takes 5 minutes to fix your problem. Roto-Rooter came and the plumber determined that there really wasn't a huge issue and charged nothing. I asked if maybe he should snake the toilet just to be sure and he said no, then he'd have to charge me $265 (their much more reasonable hourly fee). The last time Heise's came the charge was excessive. There's a problem here. And it's not with the plumbers. It seems like management to me. I hate to say this, but I can't work with Heise's anymore. read more

Be careful with these guys - they aren't honest. They made an appointment with me for a 2-hour service window but didn't show and didn't contact me. So at the end of the 2 hours I called them. They admitted they were late but said the service tech was 30 min away in downtown SF. Then 90 minutes later, still no show, so I called again and now the tech was supposedly somewhere on the Peninsula 50 more minutes away. So I cancelled. Who has time to spend all afternoon waiting for service that never comes and having to listen to a bunch of lies about when they'll arrive? Use these losers at your own risk. read more

The water heater installation was messy with water splashed around and not mopped up. One was replaced the other was good both have trays underneath to catch leaks and should be dry. They got water in the good dry tray as well as the one they replaced. I had to get them back twice before they drove away to remove the standing water. They tried to get me to believe that the other one had started to leak. I showed them where the water had clearly come from. I am still working on getting the pan dry. The finishing touch was they had unplugged my refrigerator I guess when they were moving the heater and didn't replace it. I didn't notice for a few days till I opened the freezer to find everything ruined. They not only denied the unplugging, but said they didn't see a refrigerator. Heise's not only denies the obvious but accuses me of trying to scam them out of a couple of hundred dollars. If I was trying to scam them I would certainly go for more than that. The cost to come to our house and do basically nothing was $225. I don't even remember the name of the guy, and I really don't want to remember. Nobody from this place is ever setting foot in my house again. Our tenant downstairs said the shower was not working, so my husband called Heise's Plumbing. They sent someone out fast enough, which is why I was inclined to leave two stars. We also asked him to check a leaky faucet and he concluded that we needed to replace it. He happened to have a Grohe faucet that was nickel instead of the chrome we had, and added that if he had to come back he had to charge another $225. That's $450 on top of the cost of another $150+ faucet - we fixed the shower ourselves with a new hose. This left us in a dilemma: buy the faucet he had at the inflated price and install it now, or have him come back to install a faucet we really wanted for another $225. Things didn't sound right, so I said we'd buy the faucet and call if we needed to. Today, I called Discount Plumbers at the suggestion of a neighbor across the street and they came out at a time specific and they were on time. Edgar looked at the sink, checked the faucet, and concluded it was the grout on the back of the wall. He splashed water on the grouted area, and sure enough the water started to drip down. All I have to do is grout the sink. He also came upstairs and tightened the loose faucet on our lavatory. The cost? No charge, he charged us nothing. We really wanted to stay local, but this whole experience with Heise's was sketch as all fnck. It left us feeling thoroughly ripped off and I'm going to be pissed off about this for quite some time.
