She was efficient, helpful, and genuinely kind. Unfortunately, today's experience was the complete opposite. At 7am, I washed two kids' jackets (size 6-7) and one full-length medium winter parka in machine #16. The machine was only about half full. I pretreated everything, but when the cycle finished, all three coats came out still soapy and stained, with visible OxiClean residue. I brought this to the attendant's attention and showed her the items and the leftover soap. Instead of addressing the issue, she suggested I should've used a larger machine...even though this one was not close to full...and then implied I may have used too much detergent. Her "solution" was to run the washer empty to check for an error code before considering re-washing my items. I explained that I didn't have an extra 30 minutes to wait for that process b/c I have to go to work, and that it didn't make sense to delay resolving the issue when the results were clearly not right. She then stated she couldn't rewash my load unless the machine was proven to be broken, because the cost would come out of her paycheck. At that point, I dropped it because I didn't want her to be penalized financially...but that response alone is concerning from a customer service standpoint. When I asked for a way to contact management, I was told to leave a Yelp review instead because she had done everything she could to make me happy. So here we are. It's disappointing that after 6 years of consistent business, a clear issue with a machine wasn't handled with basic customer care. I would've appreciated a simple solution or even an attempt to make it right, rather than being met with deflection and inconvenience. I hope management sees this and reconsiders both their machine maintenance and how customer concerns are handled moving forward.

I believe it was $13. They also have free dryer days as well. I believe it to be Wednesday. But even then the dryer is 25 cents for four minutes. So the prices are not bad at all. The staff walk around and clean up the machines. This place isn't dirty at all. They also have a coffee bar here. I haven't had anything. But I'm sure it's good. I see people but it all the time.

Tried this for the first time today, when I arrived there were two women doing laundry together and…read morethey were using EVERY SINGLE WASHER except for the smallest ones. One of the women had gone to some of the machines and put a single item of clothing in it to indicate she was "saving" these so no one else could use them. Several people came in after me and were visibly upset. Also some people just left because of these ridiculous women. I ended up using some of the smaller machines and one of them malfunctioned and would not end the cycle so I couldn't get it open to get my clothes out. No one was there so I called the phone number posted at the business, no one answered. I left a message and never got a return call. After 30 additional minutes the machine finally unlocked and my clothes were soaking wet because it never did the spin cycle. So it took longer than it should have and more money to dry them. Very annoying experience.

She would stand in front of a washer that someone else's clothes were in, hands on hips waiting for the person to empty the washer while it was still had a few minutes to go. 2 washers were out of order and there were people attempting to do their laundry and waiting to use a machine. PLEASE PUT LIMITS ON HOW MANY MACHINES ONE PERSON CAN USE, SO EVERYONE CAN USE A MACHINE.

Now, they offer community sewing classes and even open up their studio for those who want to work on their own sewing projects. I took a Sewing 101 class here at Open Threads in September 2025. This introductory level class was 4 weeks for the month of September. SEWING 101 CLASS (Machine based not hand sewing) -- This is a beginner class where all the materials are provided for a very decent cost. Sometimes the class felt a bit fast-paced and rushed but I just made sure to ask alot of questions. A sewing machine and the materials plus needles and other items are provided for students. They have several sewing machines to choose from and during the first class, you pick a machine to use for the duration of the 4-weeks. // I got to make a needle pouch (holder to hold needles), a reversible tote bag, and a zipper pouch which can be used as a stationery bag, a makeup bag, or for anything. I picked out the material that I wanted to use for each item that I made. It was very exciting to see my finished product because I had never sewn on a machine before. I was happy to have challenged myself by taking a machine sewing class. My friend Christina even took a Sewing 101 class a few months later after I told her about my experience. They offer a Sewing 102 class. For the Summer of 2026, they have several special classes, including a "Get to Know your Sewing Machine" class and a "Maintain Your Wardrobe --Alterations and Mending" class. Open Threads offers all other types of services so be sure to visit their website.
