Ever since a switch in management, both the RM and GM only care about money. Your dogs are not safe. The reason this location keeps ratings up is by reviews by employees and management themselves, which is deceiving and frankly, quite pathetic and sad. My OWN dogs were boarded here over the summer. My epileptic dog was not given her lifesaving medication because it was just placed in her food bowl (she doesn't usually eat at PS). The next day, my other dog was fed surrounded by her sisters diarrhea from the previous night. As an employee, I witnessed so many dogs come down with illnesses that were not disclosed to owners. One dog was leaking diarrhea constantly and the GM, Nickole, would not allow it to go to the vet unless it also vomited. Groups are always over the ratio of 25:1 which not only puts your dogs in danger, but also us as employees. Please exercise caution if you choose this awful business. Inside we met Theresa, the owner and her shop clerk, the fabulous four footed Bogart as they were decorating some new dog cupcakes. The shop has the most creative doggie treats. She can make them per your dogs dietary needs. We purchased one made from wheat and one made from coconut. We took them home and hand to God... our ultra picky dogs devoured the treats Her shop is so cute. It has way more than just treats. She has toys, jerky, collars, leashes and seasonal items designed for the much loved pooch. Im so glad we stopped in. Im sure we will be back lots.... Cuz I love to pamper my pooch!

My pet developed a serious infection during her stay at pet palace that went undetected by their…read morestaff. I left my dogs in the care of Pet Palace on Thursday afternoon and picked them up on Monday. When we arrived home on Monday, I immediately noticed one of my dogs had a very swollen, painful and inflamed side belly. After a trip to the vet, the vet said it appeared that something had pierced her skin and that developed an infection. She also had a high fever. My pet had to be sedated so they could drain and clean the infection. When I called pet palace to make them aware, they said they "do daily inspections of the dog and would have to check in with the employee who examined her to see if anything looked off". I do not understand how any reasonable person or animal lover would not be concerned by the appearance of my pets side belly. I can't even imagine how this could have worsened if we did not pick her up on Monday. It is very concerning to me that pet palace does not seem to actually check on the animals staying there and that they don't have any proper documentation of these daily checks. The employee said all she could offer was an apology. I will not be taking my pets back to pet palace and would not recommend anyone else leaving their animals in their care.

I remember thinking that poor baby might be sick and probably shouldn't be here. Fast forward a couple days and they began calling my emergency contact because our little girl was sick with something intestinal! I thought it was just related to the food they were giving her since it was a different brand. Our emergency contact lived 3 hours away and we were on a cruise. So she decided to wait until next day and if it wasn't better she would go get her. After a trip to vet we found out it wasn't food related but an intestinal virus that she caught and now she passed it on to her little dog that got very sick. After vet bills, paying for them to board, and expenses of emergency contact I spent more on our pooch than our cruise. I would not recommend using this place. I wish I would have gone with my gut when I saw the other dog poop. Needless to say, I'll be looking at a different option for boarding in the future.

So once she passed we booked a vacation so we boarded our 2 dogs, they have never been seperated as they have been best buddies from the start, so my wife booked the biggest kennel so they could be kept together, she dropped them off separately since we have a smaller car and the boys are larger. So since she set it up as keep them together no worries right? WRONG the next morning (Friday) we get a call as we are driving to Florida, that they found some blood in our labs stool, he was eating and drinking so maybe a little stress, so we continue and say keep an eye and call the vet if things get worse, the next morning we get a call we are in Georgia, they call to tell us they found our german shepherd was found dead in the kennel, they said his stomach was blotted so a twisted stomach, we were devastated, so we call our vet to take care of the cremation of our boy he was 9 years old, in good health he was a sensitive boy, we thought wow things happen but there was no signs of any issues with him, so we ask how our lab was doing they say he is doing well and they will move him up front and give him more attention, well I call later to check on him and find they didn't keep the boys in the same kennel! So our poor boy died alone and his best buddy never knew he died or could have closur, we come home 3 days early we have to ask to have our lab moved to a kennel with a camera so we could check on him. We get back pick up our lab, my wife talks with the manger she explains how pissed she is since we asked for certain things to happen and it didn't which the extra stress could have cause some of our German shepherds issue and could have lead to his death, we are not saying this is the cause of it but it didn't help. The boys were not even close so they couldn't see each other. The manger tells my wife he understands!! NO you don't understand I wanted to know how this happens that we booked this with specific details and that doesn't happen! He said we was going to check into this and deal with it, which this happened 4 days ago and you still don't know, that's BS! I think he thought since they didn't charge us and they paid for the cremation, they were off the hook, my lab is home not understanding where is buddy is and never got to say goodbye and our boy died alone, all because they couldn't follow direction! I'm talking about a favorite pet speciality shop, Captivating Canines. (See pictures) For about a year we'd noticed that the store was no longer at the corner of Main St. and Westerville in downtown Westerville. We were saddened to see it go because it had been a favorite shop to pick up unique Christmas and birthday gifts for pet owner friends and family. So, when we walked out the back door of Old Bag of Bones, we could see this new shop and decided to check it out. Ron, the new owner had bought the store but relocated just a short distance down Main St. Although he told me he wasn't a huge "BUCKEYE" fan, I was willing to forgive him of that small indiscretion as we continued to talk about the store and new inventory he had on display. He was very gracious and allowed us to walk around and take pictures of him and specialized, fun merchandise he had in the store to share with you. It is a very relaxed environment so you can casually take your time to look around. Many items are marked down 50%. I was equally impressed and appreciative that the shop was designed to be handicap friendly with ample aisle space that allowed me to take my walker to any place I wanted to go.

Every time we go in Captivating Canines, the owner is so friendly and helpful. We have a puppy and go there for most of his basic needs and some more we didn't know about. Today we had to get his second collar and a new harness. They have a great selection of bright and colorful and fun designed collars and harnesses. We always come away from there happy and in a good mood. Such a sweet little place. It's fun to shop in and not overwhelming, like the big pet supply stores. Definitely make a stop, it's fun just to stroll and I guarantee you'll find something unique!

I didn't leave feeling I'd been robbed but instead, it was a rather calm experience for my dog and for me, their skeptical take on Internet meds providers, makes sense especially after last summer's overseas dog products poisoning people's pets. You can surely find cheaper meds on the internet and DYI, but I'm willing to pay the extra $5-20 more to buy meds from a real doctor who's supplied by a reputable vendor. As I would expect from any Vet, they called the following day to be sure there were no side effects for my dog. I'll be regular customer in the future.
