My daughter's clutch went on a 2007 Chevy Cobalt while driving home to Poughkeepsie. I found this place down the road from where she got stranded. George (the owner?) calls up the next day and says that'll be $1800. I said that is a lot, and he kept explaining that the transmission needs to be removed to fix it. I understand that, that's labor, but from everything I've read online, it could take 9 hours tops to replace, including bleeding the hydraulic lines. ~$900 in labor. They then charged over $900 for the clutch repair kit - on average, online, I can buy one for $300. THEN, as I get the call yesterday that the car is ready, they tell me they went ahead and replaced the front passenger control arm for $300. I NEVER ASKED THEM TO DO THAT! Even the gas they sell was 20 cents higher than the rest of the stations in the area. Repair was good, price was not! read more
