On June 6th this store hosted a "Take Home Magic Pre-Release for Final Fantasy" the charged me $165.70 for 2 pre-release packs. I was like wow that's crazy. The girl behind the counter said yeah they just keep going up. I later went Gamers Asylum and played in their tournament for $42, got the same Pre-Release pack, but I got to play to win even more packs. This shop charged me double, and didn't even offer a tournament. I feel like this place just stole $80 from me. What an embarrassment for a store. I'm going to tell everyone I know to avoid this place. I hope they go out of buisness. read more

$27 for some magic singles. Didn't make sense to me but I didn't check because I trusted the worker. Got home and checked the value, it was $16. He added $11 to my order and said nothing about it. Never going there again. Echoing the other review, they're thieves. read more

Not many good comics and what little small keys they do have they'll EBAY search each one right in front of you to make sure they up the price accordingly. So if the tag says $5 they'll say the "computer prices are different" but we noticed him just ebaying the books to up it to the highest value. Kinda lame especially for small comics not grails. read more

They should have probably hired someone who actually knows about comic books and don't hire no idiots that don't know what they are doing and they were rude to a paying customer better management because really rude. read more

Great! Big selection of everything. Comic books trade paperbacks, back issues, vintage toys, DVDs, video games, board games, you name it. They went out of their way to help find stuff and sell them at a good price. read more

Your hub for all things fun. I'm surprised I haven't made my way to this place earlier, given my love of board games. We decided to check this them out on my friend's birthday and it also happened to be free comic book day (totally worth checking out, if you haven't). They have an amazing selection of comic books, games and lots of random figurines. My wife stumbled upon a little Aggretsuko figure that I fell head over heels for and bought it for me. The guys who work there are extremely friendly and always down to help you with whatever you might need. Not really in a place in life to add to my board games collection, but when I am, I know where I'm going! read more

Twice I've been into this dumpster fire and I'm not really sure why. Never seems to have anything I'm looking for. Clerk seems aloof. Been here a few times, always helpful employees. Love alll the stuff they have, reminds me of my childhood! They seem to have everything you could ever want when it comes to comics and games. Could use a little paint and polish, but it is a comic book store lol. read more

First time in. Prices were marked up to the max. I inquired about two cards and the prices were marked up substantially. I inquired about where they get their pricing. Employee says we have our own algorithm. Sign should say "We're Open, enter arse first." Can't speak about the player base or the other elements of their business. This is one rad comic book store. They have a ton of all the classics and lesser known comics including really cool indie graphic novels. My daughter loved the $1 bin where she gets all her spiderman comics and i love the art magazines and diy graphic novels. They also sell records, classic game consoles and hand helds, heroclix, magic the gathering cards and figurines. They have magic game nights and i am hoping i can convince them to become addicted to wizwar so i have folks to play with. The folks that work there are super helpful and never pretentious. i know i dont know everything about every kind of geekery and thats ok to them. Not as nice as Layton's on every level. Absolutely no Suzy in the store. Lots of product so you are likely to find what you are looking for but without the welcoming feel. Their gaming space is not as nice either. read more

I have never read comics before about a week ago but I have been wanting to get into comics for a few months now. I finally made the trip down there to pick up something batman because I love batman, and I needed a place to start. The employees there were extremely helpful in giving me a solid comic book to start with and they even gave me a free comic because it was free comic day a few weeks before. I came in again a few days later because I already finished the book and wanted more. The employee that was there that time was extremely helpful and tried to see which comic book I would be personally interested in. I have only been there twice, but both times customer service has been top notch. They are a little bit pricey but from what I can tell, it's not too bad. Great place if you want to get into comics. I don't think I could recommend coming there for video games. They have some good ones, but if you are coming to this store, it's for comics, cards, and board games. read more

They have some pretty cool stuff. I'm not a super nerd, magic player or gamer. So naturally, I can only relate to about 25% of their merch. But I love their LP collection, cheap comics and random collectables. When I was a teenager I spent so much money on Nightmare Before Christmas, Edward Scissorhands and other action figures. read more

This place is amazing! I stopped in on my way through Ogden and it was like walking into nerd heaven. They have a fantastic selection of games, comics and action figures. I love the way their comics are laid out; if you're only into superheroes or indie comics you don't have to hunt through the titles to find something you'll like. The dude at the Layton location, trying to be awesome and helpful, directed me here, though that was in the plans anyway, because they had greater selection and I will say...there is more stuff. The store is considerably larger and there was stuff I had not seen in years and remembered having (and breaking) much of it (no idea how any of what they had survived that long). This one is much more in the comic and Star Wars vein, though and less in the figures and toys area. No issue there, I like the different locations having their own individual character and there is definitely no shortage of toys and related accessories there. It was a bit darker and somewhat dirtier than Layton, but again, I like me a bit of grit and tarnish and no knock there at all. There is a ton of stuff to look at and I would chaff a bit at the arrangement if this wasn't such a pleasant place to spend time, which is maybe the goal. I didn't see any tables or anything set up, so this might just be a commercial outlet, but there was also a lot of unused space there, which would really amp up the available selection quite a bit, though possibly that is for M:TG games. To put in perspective by way of comparison, I really liked this store a lot, but loved the Layton location...staff is great in both locations, though. read more

Awful. Walked in, no greeting from the sole person working there. I walked in looking for Pokemon card singles. Not their usual item of sale, but I had bought previously from the Layton location, and they told me Ogden had the coolest cards, so I thought I'd stop by and check it out. I ask the dude, and he looks at me, rolls his eyes and extremely reluctantly grabs a box where a bunch of cards were stored in the absolute worst possible way, and makes sure to tell me to keep them in order. So I did, looked through them, found a few that I felt liked and asked him to look up prices. These cards were the best condition I could find in this mess of a box, and I expected the dude to not know a lot about Pokemon, so I'm not sure what I expected when he told me the two cards were $8 each. I wasn't really paying attention and wanted to get out of there ASAP so I obliged and went with it. I got in my car and checked my phone to see how they were priced on Troll and Toad; they were $3 a piece. Now those cards may be worth the amount I paid in mint condition and first edition, but these were neither. He most likely knew this and decided to charge me top dollar anyways because, as I can tell from a lot of these reviews, these guys are sleazy. Don't go here, if this is how they treat any customer, whether it's on their specialty items or not, then this place does not deserve anyones business. read more
