Had a great time looking for comics again. This was the first store we stopped at and by far a favorite. The guy that rang us up was super friendly and helpful. The store layout is perfectly laid out in a way that will make combing through the comic boxes easy. They sell memorabilia as well.

Tons and tons of comics on sale

Love comic books? Love to nerd out? Want some cheap affordable comics? Well this is the place for you. When you walk in you will notice the huge selection of comics esp in the middle area with daily discounted price. The staff here is super friendly and would totally nerd out with you about anything. It seem like they've read every single comic book in the store. Their action figures collection isn't bad as well. Totally love it. One think about this is to be prepare to search till your heart content in regards to getting a specific comic book. It is nicely arranged alphabetically, but there is so many under that certain character that you might need to search a while. An example would be if you want a specific spider man comic book...there are so many universe that you might need to search the whole Spider-Man section to even find it. Also taking a comic book out of the tight packed section is a bit harder. Totally fun place to be and you can guarantee to find something you would like here.

Great help and very knowledgeable and happy to know I wasn't the first Papa to walk in wanting to get my kids into comics. lol Great selection. Lots of peripheral items of interest. We actually found this place unexpectedly right after parking the car in the nearby parking garage and my LTP, who enjoys collecting comic books, wanted to pop in and see what they had here. If you're a comic book nerd, then this is the place for you. They have a lot of awesome stuff in here. All their comic book selections that they have available are in boxes located in the back of the store and are listed in alphabetic order for easy browsing. They also have comic books that are permanently sealed and can't be opened. When I was little, I was a huge, huge fan of the Sonic the Hedgehog comics, and seeing some of those here brought me back to my childhood. Along with comic books, they also have puzzles, trading cards, board games, and a collection of the world's smallest things, like the world's smallest Godzilla and the world's smallest Barbie doll. They had the world's smallest Magic 8 ball as well and I tested one while it was in the package. It was so small that I couldn't read the text after I shook it. We love working on puzzles in our free time and we would've bought one if we weren't working on one back at home right now. This was a cool place to step into. Very spacious and lots to choose from, you could spend hours and hours in here.

The entire time I was there, the store owners were yelling at each other and the woman would not stop cursing the man the entire time she walked around the store fixing stuff. After a while, I ended up finding a book that I wanted to give my niece when the woman came by, fixed some random book on the shelf behind me and said, "Don't touch the books if you aren't going to put them back correctly." Excuse me? I didn't even touch that book. I immediately put the book I was going to buy back and walked out the store. Incredibly rude to each other and their customers. Many shelves are bending and I wouldn't be surprised if they broke and books came crashing down on someone's head. Stay away from here!

The store owner was very knowledgeable and is able to tell you where things are located, if you know what you're looking for (such as specific author and title). I didn't spend too much time in the store. I was just accompanying a friend who wanted to browse Downtown Salt Lake City. It's definitely a place to find unique trinkets/gift.

The ungraded higher end books, however, were sort of scattered about the store, on various walls, or even stacked (unstoppable) in a glass case. The back room ha 25 or so long boxes to look through. A note on the prices of the raw books: WAY over market. I mean, astronomically so. Prime example, Daredevil #181 in NM is a $5-15 book all day. This store had it at $55. That's just one example. I've never Said to a store owner/employee "how on earth are you pricing these?!" But I did today. The owners wife? Was super sweet though, and took my complaining in stride. I bought all of two comics unfortunately, but I was looking to spend far far more. I would come back, if only to score a nice CGC book or three.

There is also a solid selection of action figures, including some older ones, so worth a look in that respect. Prices are also excellent, which gives it the push I was thinking from 3.5 stars, but this would be something I'd look into only occasionally, as it's debatable how worth the fight to get in during the limited hours is. For me, this will be something I'll check in maybe 2 or 3 times a year...

In a nut shell, Game Haven is a phenomenal, local business and community…read more This store has just about everything a nerd could want. If you want to find people to play Pokémon or Yu-Gi-Oh with, every Saturday they have tournaments. You like magic cards, there is almost always someone in the store playing magic but every Friday they always have some magic event happening. You like painting figurines and playing war hammer, they have a section set up for you and every Monday is night where people come to paint there figurines. Outside of this they have a great cafe. They have your standard coffees but my favorite thing is they have a ever changing specialty drinks special that changes season to season or if their is a big nerdy event happening. On of my favorite drinks I had was when they made drinks inspired by and to celebrated "Detective Pikachu". The biggest item for me this store offers is their board games. They have a ton of demos you can play in the store and cafe or rent to take home. Every Tuesday night and Sunday their is a community that comes together to play some board games. If their is a game you want to play and not sure you want to buy it yet, come to these events. If you go often enough and I am sure someone will bring your game in and you will get to play it. For me, these events are like a midweek Christmas, always looking forward to them. As for their events, what I have said does not even scratch the surface. Game Have always seems to have something coming down the pipeline. They have Mini-Cons, Halloween events, psychic and fortune-telling events and so so much more. They support local vendors and artists and just as a ridiculously amazing community. Not to get to personal but Game Haven's community is very inviting and accepting. From their customers, to their employees, to the owner himself. I was very anti-social and depressed a few years ago but Game Havens community accepted me, and I have met some outstanding people and made some life long friendships. A lot of these events have been suspended due to the pandemic but once everything is over, I encourage you to come to this location if this is a community you want to be a part of. Come to one of the events, have a cup of coffee or tea, sit down and as long as you come with a positive outlook and are understanding and respectful, you will have a fun and outstanding time that you will not soon forget!
