If you want to find people to play Pokémon or Yu-Gi-Oh with, every Saturday they have tournaments. You like magic cards, there is almost always someone in the store playing magic but every Friday they always have some magic event happening. You like painting figurines and playing war hammer, they have a section set up for you and every Monday is night where people come to paint there figurines. Outside of this they have a great cafe. They have your standard coffees but my favorite thing is they have a ever changing specialty drinks special that changes season to season or if their is a big nerdy event happening. On of my favorite drinks I had was when they made drinks inspired by and to celebrated "Detective Pikachu". The biggest item for me this store offers is their board games. They have a ton of demos you can play in the store and cafe or rent to take home. Every Tuesday night and Sunday their is a community that comes together to play some board games. If their is a game you want to play and not sure you want to buy it yet, come to these events. If you go often enough and I am sure someone will bring your game in and you will get to play it. For me, these events are like a midweek Christmas, always looking forward to them. As for their events, what I have said does not even scratch the surface. Game Have always seems to have something coming down the pipeline. They have Mini-Cons, Halloween events, psychic and fortune-telling events and so so much more. They support local vendors and artists and just as a ridiculously amazing community. Not to get to personal but Game Haven's community is very inviting and accepting. From their customers, to their employees, to the owner himself. I was very anti-social and depressed a few years ago but Game Havens community accepted me, and I have met some outstanding people and made some life long friendships. A lot of these events have been suspended due to the pandemic but once everything is over, I encourage you to come to this location if this is a community you want to be a part of. Come to one of the events, have a cup of coffee or tea, sit down and as long as you come with a positive outlook and are understanding and respectful, you will have a fun and outstanding time that you will not soon forget!

We actually found this place unexpectedly right after parking the car in the nearby parking garage and my LTP, who enjoys collecting comic books, wanted to pop in and see what they had here. If you're a comic book nerd, then this is the place for you. They have a lot of awesome stuff in here. All their comic book selections that they have available are in boxes located in the back of the store and are listed in alphabetic order for easy browsing. They also have comic books that are permanently sealed and can't be opened. When I was little, I was a huge, huge fan of the Sonic the Hedgehog comics, and seeing some of those here brought me back to my childhood. Along with comic books, they also have puzzles, trading cards, board games, and a collection of the world's smallest things, like the world's smallest Godzilla and the world's smallest Barbie doll. They had the world's smallest Magic 8 ball as well and I tested one while it was in the package. It was so small that I couldn't read the text after I shook it. We love working on puzzles in our free time and we would've bought one if we weren't working on one back at home right now. This was a cool place to step into. Very spacious and lots to choose from, you could spend hours and hours in here.

The ungraded higher end books, however, were sort of scattered about the store, on various walls, or even stacked (unstoppable) in a glass case. The back room ha 25 or so long boxes to look through. A note on the prices of the raw books: WAY over market. I mean, astronomically so. Prime example, Daredevil #181 in NM is a $5-15 book all day. This store had it at $55. That's just one example. I've never Said to a store owner/employee "how on earth are you pricing these?!" But I did today. The owners wife? Was super sweet though, and took my complaining in stride. I bought all of two comics unfortunately, but I was looking to spend far far more. I would come back, if only to score a nice CGC book or three.

We found a whitebox of rares and don cards for OP-16. At checkout, the cashier (who happened to be the store owner for Dragons Keep, Leeder Francis) said that each rare was $0.50 then my wife asked if each Don!! card was also $0.50 as she looked at the TCGplayer market price which was $0.30 and we did not see any in store listing price. Leeder responded with: Yes, they are $0.50 which this bulk price saves you money. My wife proceed with the transaction and we left. I was curious how much we were saving so on the drive home (we live about 20 minutes away) I decided to get on TCGplayer to check that claim. The TCGplayer market price would have been $10 cheaper total and on average, rare cards were worth $0.20 (I honestly wouldn't have cared about the price difference but Leeder mentioning that we saved money I now wondered how). I decided to call the store about this discrepancy, after explaining the situation to the employee that answered, I was handed to Leeder. I patiently tried to explain our experience buying singles at their multiple locations which has included both bulk price per card and using TCGplayer market price. Leeder explained that their store policy was to charge $1.00 per rare (rip off by the way) for One Piece TCG so him charging $0.50 per rare (still a terrible deal) was us "saving money". This explained our misunderstanding, and would have been sufficient for our questions, and we would have moved on. However, he then continued to state our previous experiences at Dragons Keep where we were charged TCGplayer market price instead of a bulk price per card was a lie and that we were liars. A little taken back, I tried patiently to tell him we've had employees at their stores in the past sell us commons, uncommons and, rares based on TCGplayer market price. After some time of Leeder's unprofessional and rude behavior, he told us we could return the cards for a refund then "get the f*ck out of his Dragon's Keep". I'm still somewhat bewildered that the store owner would behave like this to a customer over a reasonable misunderstanding. There must be some miscommunication between stores/employees on charging for One Piece TCG singles. Note the entire phone call lasted only 6 minutes, the portion I talked to Leeder was probably 4 minutes, very short temper, cannot work with customers. As a result of this conversation, I'm leaving a 1 star review and will never go back to any Dragons Keep for any reason. I have shopped at End Zone for about 16 years as a well-stocked store for German-style board games…read more There was a time that if you told them what games you liked best, they would recommend a purchase to you with a money-back guarantee that you'd love it. The few times I tried it their recommendation was worth the purchase. Now with almost 500 games in my collection and using BoardGameGeek for most game news, reviews and players' community, I only stop in for board games occasionally if they happen to have something new on hand for as fair a price as anywhere--sometimes works out, sometimes not. Today the stock on hand in the Clearfield store is quite impressive--less so in Bountiful. Indeed the 10% off MSRP prices are less common now than they once were yet I still recommend End Zone for its generally reliable effort to put some 'friendly' into the Friendly Local Game Store shopping experience. That said, if the small staff are tied up chatting with anyone else, the huge amount of stock can be challenging to navigate and find what you're searching for among the stuffed and cluttered shelves. I stop in End Zone more often now for the large LEGO store that now occupies half of the former retail space -- with the DnD and collectible miniatures/card games that one were there having expanded to the retail space next door. Their business has grown a lot! As a frequent LEGO buyer I find End Zone is an awesome store for adult fans and kids. As a 'gold' account member they get to stock many of the large and exclusive sets one normally only finds at LEGO brand stores or online. In pandemic times LEGO exclusives have frequently been out of stock online, so End Zone has proved to be a worthwhile stop for finding what I was seeking. Not always, but regularly. It's unfortunate that one doesn't earn any of the gifts-with-purchase or other loyalty rewards that LEGO offers for purchases through their brand & online stores--which tempers some of my purchases here--but at least End Zone prices their sets at MSRP. Retired set availability can vary widely of course. And End Zone doesn't carry any of the Build-A-Minifigure kiosk exclusives. But at least they are not like the Teton Toys store at Farmington Station who price their LEGO retail stock far above MSRP.

I was out celebrating Independent Bookstore Day, so I made a stop at The Printed Garden. Most of…read morethe independent bookstores in the valley are further north, so it was nice to have something in the south side representing. This one is located in Union Square, a rather geriatric shopping district that appears pretty run down, but is home to several local shops. Pretty it isn't, but it must be doing something right, because there are always folks in the parking lot. And during my visit, several of them were in this store too. Anyway, back to the bookstore. It's modest in size, but had a good amount of books. It strikes me as of a more of a place where you call and talk to the owner to help track down a very specific book than a store that you might just want to browse for fun. The layout and design of the store is slightly lacking in appeal and creativity. That said, not everyone wants to browse through shelves of books or attractive displays. Sometimes you know just what you want and need someone like the folks at The Printed Garden who can locate it for you. And I'll bet they would be happy to do that.
