Job appeared to be going ok until the end. I was informed they ran out of tile. Fortunately, the supplier had more of same color & lot. Next issue they ran out of baseboards so they went back to their shop and brought back the baseboard rejects ( splintered, damaged ECT) and installed them using calk to try and mask the defects. Next issue was the grout process, I noticed the grout was mixed extremely thick looked like thick wet sand not able to fill grout lines properly, due to the lack of moisture some grout lines dried, crumbled and were swept away during clean up. I showed the owner Hector the issues, they came back the next day and patched all the areas. I noticed when the grout dried it was GREY not white! I have GREY patches all over my house. Hector stated that they also do bathrooms & kitchens so I purchased a vanity with a custom marble top. I agreed to supply the faucet for them to install. I noticed the worker was in the bathroom for some time installing the vanity ( 4 1/2 hours ) he said all is ok now. Later in the day the worker and I look at the faucet and the water would not flow properly. The worker stated he thought it was fixed. I tested it several times and some times it worked and sometimes it did not. The worker stated that's what happened to him also. When the owner came by I told him about the issues, he went and checked it and said it was working. I explained that it only works sometimes, he said but it working and refused to do anything about it. I had his worker tell him that he had also experienced the same thing but all Hector would say was it's working. I stepped away as I was very upset and needed a break. Hector left the house without setting up any kind of resolution. I found out later from my wife that when I stepped away Hector indeed saw the faucet malfunction and told her it must be MAGIC and left the house knowing it was not working properly and doing nothing to resolve it! I need to let Hector know I was aware he saw the faucet malfunction and left the house anyway so I sent him a text advising him of all the issues. He said I fix it. I needed time to decide what I was going to do as my trust in the work was questionable this was on 02/11/2022 final day of the job. On 02/26/2022 the bathroom they worked on flooded. It appeared that the wax ring seal leaked as water was coming out from the back bottom of the toilet. Water main was shut off along with the toilet supply valve. I informed Hector of all the issues and he said he would fix it. When he showed up I asked him how he was going to fix everything as it appeared to me that he did not have the proper things to fix the issues. Hector refused to say anything but I'm here to fix it. After going back and forth with no answer but I'm here to fix it I had no confidence in his ability to fix it. Hector asked are you going to let me in to fix it, I replied as soon as you explain to me what you are going to do. Hector did not explain any thing and said yet again I'm here to fix it are you going to let me in? I said I cannot because I do not have confidence in your workmanship after all the issues I have had. Hector departed. I called a reputable plumbing company to come out and do the repairs. The sink faucet lines were kinked, they were replaced. When the toilet was removed to be re-set another issue was discovered. Sometime during the tile the supply valve was damaged and TAPED UP to mask the issue. Valve replaced, toilet reset and all is good in the bathroom. I still need to address the grout issue. My attorney is working on the plumbing bill. I will address the grout issue shortly. Photos are attached to show all is as I stated. read more
