    My fresh haircut

Heba's haircut is one of the best I've ever received for my thick curly hair. She's a true expert at the Deva cut process, gave clear instructions for me to wash my hair in advance. The cut took about an hour and her prices are good for this type of service and her over 20 years of experience. This was my first appointment with her, and I will be back. She was straightforward and easy to schedule with by text.

I had a wonderful experience at HEBA's Studio! Not only was she wonderful to talk to, she also did a great job with my curls! Her studio is pleasant and clean. We spent a lot of time walking through how I can improve my hair care routine. As you can see, I left the studio with hair that looked 100% better! Can't wait to go back!

Heba is the first person to cut my hair and do exactly what I requested without arguing with me. I only wanted a trim and it was exactly that. She is very comfortable with curly hair so she didn't fumble or get overwhelmed when combing and separating my hair to apply color. She took her time but was also very efficient. I was extremely pleased with the services she rendered and would highly recommend.

    After! Bouncy shaped curls

I came across Heba (@heba_raia) on Instagram and while I was a little apprehensive of trusting someone through photos to cut my hair, I couldn't have went with a better choice. She was very detail oriented and provided plenty of education on how to properly care for my curly hair. Not only was she very professional, but also friendly as well. If you are looking for someone who will take their time and pay attention to YOUR individual curls, Heba's studio is the place to go! I look forward to continuing my hair care journey with her.

Heba is a magician! I love her deva dry cut - my curls have never looked better. I have fine wavy hair and used to struggle to keep my hair curly. But she really is in an expert in how to take care of curls and my hair now has never looked better. Before I found Heba I had highlights from a salon that left my hair damaged and orange. In just on appointment she completely fixed my highlights and gave me the color I'd been hoping for. I can't say enough wonderful things about Heba! She is so talented.

    Curly cut

It is so scary trusting someone with your curls especially when you have ptsd like I do, but Heba did such a great job. If you're looking for a curly cut look no further. She's very professional and transparent and I'll be coming here again. Thanks Heba.

Deva Cut - I can honestly say that Heba gave me the BEST hair cut I've ever had! She responded to my text requesting an appointment immediately and was able to see me the following day. Heba explained everything she was doing throughout the process and gave me excellent product and styling tips. She is truly a curly hair expert! She's friendly and fun to chat with too. I could not have been more pleased with the whole experience.

Summary: Not what I asked for, very poor result I had wavy/curly hair, medium density hair that fell a little below the shoulders. I went to Heba to get it cut a little shorter and have some layers added. I asked for my hair to fall a little below the chin when dry (that is, taking shrinkage into account). Unfortunately, my hair ended up far shorter than I asked for. Frankly, my hair is ruined. After Heba cut, styled, and dried it it's falling above the bottom of my earlobe, at least 2 inches shorter than what we had discussed. My hair also doesn't have a very tight curl, so most of the curl is gone now that it's so short. I'm sure I could have tried to communicate my wants better, but I thought we were on the same page. Maybe when I said "chin" she thought I meant "jaw", but it's still falling well above the highest part of my jawline. She started cutting in the back, so unfortunately I didn't realize the extent of the miscommunication until it was too late. Ultimately Heba was very nice, but I'm very unhappy with my haircut. I look like a guy now. I know it's just hair and that it will grow back, but this was not a good experience. I hadn't gotten my hair cut professionally in years because the last time I did it was cut way too short by someone who didn't understand curly hair, so for a similar experience to happen again is upsetting. If you choose this salon I'd recommend you have a very lengthy discussion of your desired results and bring lots of sample pictures to prevent such drastic misunderstandings. The attached picture shows my hair immediately after my appointment with Heba.

Pros: initially, we had good conversation during the appointment and it was cool. But that changed at the end. Cons: she used a lot of gel and mousse in my hair which left it crusty and nasty so that didn't feel good. I didn't like how the appointment ended. I had no service in her studio, so I was unable to pay. I left my pursue and car keys with her, I said I'll go outside in order to get wifi and send her the payment. When I returned, she already had someone in the chair and my stuff was on the side, so I grabbed my stuff and left. My main issue with this is that I wanted to ask about how she decided to charge me, but since she was already on to the next customer, I just left. Since my hair was crusty bc of all the gel, I told myself to wash my hair myself, style it my way, and then decide how I felt about the haircut. My main point is this: I would absolutely NOT recommend this stylist for anyone that doesn't have super curly hair. She 10000% charged me a wrong rate that did not reflect my hair type at all (and I will show the pics of exactly what I mean). Before I made an appointment, she quoted me a rate of $85 - $140 DEPENDing on hair length, texture, density etc. My hair isn't (far from) 4c/ super curly hair. She charged me $140. I should have questioned it before I paid it and left the salon, and that's my mistake. But she absolutely took advantage of me. Never again. I texted her and asked about how she decided t charge (I'll show the texts) and she never answered my question, which essentially proves my point: that she absolutely took advantage of me. Long story short: I initially paid $162 (included tip) for the haircut. When I asked her how she decided to charge me $140, she never answered my question and refunded $40 to me. I would have preferred an honest hair stylist. I was more than willing to pay and tip accordingly. My search continues !

This review in in response to my friends comment (Mennah - see below) and Heba's response. Hello, I am the client from her post - I am sad to see your response Heba and did feel obligated to comment for future people interested, because I feel as if looking at your photos made me think I was going to get the best hair/repair ever - but its not what I wanted at all. My friend (view Mennah's review) is not wrong, I did leave the salon mid appointment with an unfinished color job and diffused hair because she had another "doctor" client whos been going to her for over 10 years... which I feel like the client would have understood if she has been with her for that long vs. asking a new client to come back. I was out of state and only visiting for the weekend, I had to come back to get my hair at least one color. She suggested that I could either leave the salon with "toner in your hair and then wash it out yourself" or "come back after, but i will charge you and wont blow-dry you, because I am tired" ... I then suggested that I could wait until she foils her other clients hair and then as she is processing, she could fix what else had to be done. She said there isn't enough space for 3 people and she it would be hard to move around from client to client. So, I had no choice but to come back 3 hours later. I also offered to come the next morning to complete the job but she still refused to blow dry my hair because she has other appointments. And she did tell me that if I wanted to come back later in the day then she will charge me an additional price for more toner and for a blowout (which I thought was in the total price I paid for...lol). Before I left the first time, she asked for the full payment of the services performed (haircut and color, even thought it wasn't done) and I really didn't feel comfortable with it as well. My friend did argument with her because I don't like confrontation and also I did not want her to purposefully ruin my hair... she took out foils at one point and I was like "WTF why?!?", so I tried to deescalate the situation as much as possible. I was actually terrified of her messing it up. In regards to Heba's comments, there was not a scene because my friend (who was standing in the hallway) actually left the salon after some words in Arabic were exchanged between them - and come to find out later that it was a very disrespectful saying. Also, I am not sure how "damaged" my hair could have been because I had only balayaged it once, 10 months ago, and it grew out mostly. And for the other grown out/damaged pieces she did cut the hair, but also I wasn't able to fully see the cut and color properly until I left the salon. In terms of haircut... yes my haircut looked great when it was curled/diffused (the first time) and Heba kindly did blow-dry my hair straight after the second visit, thank you for that - I know you had a long day. However, when I saw what it looked like after it was blown-out, both the color and the hairstyle was NOT what I wanted. I have attached photos of when I left the first time (photo 1/2 are when I left the first time - diffused hair) and (photo 3,4,5 are with red streaks in my hair after she "fixed it"). I typically do a middle part and she suggested I do a side part because it looks better so I did and when I went back to part in the middle, there is so much unevenness and its all in the front , which looks so bad that I need to always pin them back/ making me look like a child (last photo). Overall, besides the argument, fear and not getting what I wanted/was promised. I did enjoy my time with Heba as she is an easy to talk to hairstylist. I enjoyed our conversations and appreciate you as a person and for blow drying my hair at the end. However, sadly I don't think I will come back as a client after witnessing 1, my hair and 2, your response to my friend (Mennah's comment below).

She gave me a "lived in" haircut with an undercut which is the perfect lazy girl haircut- somehow my hair now looks great straight out of the shower and air dried and I don't need to style it at all! It has volume and shape and I've gotten a ton of compliments. Plus it looks good in a ponytail since it isn't just stick straight. Not sure what she did but she sure worked her magic! I'm used to my hair being super straight but now I have a tiny bit of a wave. Luna & Sol salon is so beautiful and Instagram perfect. It is small with just two hair stylists (Julie is super sweet as well) but it is so artistically and tastefully decorated. And they have drinks and snacks! Also they have a fun selfie station with a backdrop and flattering ring light so you can take amazing pictures of your new cut to show off to your friends. Would 100% recommend, especially to my fellow asians who struggle finding a stylist who gets Asian hair!

So when I went in, I already had blonde hair but I hadn't gotten it done since Thanksgiving so my naturally dark hair was peeking through in my roots. My blonde was also very warm and a little bit lackluster (just because it had been months since I last got it done!). So I knew going in that I really wanted to brighten my hair and give it a little refresh. I wanted a little more blonde and was hoping to add some more dimension. One of the owners, Melanie, did my hair. Starting off, I felt totally at home and comfortable. She grabbed me a Diet Coke and spoke with me about my hair and asked what I was looking for. I wanted to be realistic and I wanted to ensure that my hair would last until graduation (I graduate college in seven weeks). She was quick and efficient! We chatted about all sorts of things and honestly the three hours went by so fast!! The head massage/wash was so wonderful and relaxing. I've been wanting to go here for years (been following the account since freshman year) and I'm so glad I finally got the chance! My hair is stunning and Melanie is truly a star. I am so confident and just really appreciated the whole process. Grateful for this and super happy with my final look!

The first stylist showed little concern for hair health. My hair became severely damaged, and the highlights were poorly done--harsh, with straight lines and clearly visible foil marks. Even after going back for a touch-up, the work never improved. I switched to a second stylist for balayage, hoping for better results. On my most recent visit, I came in only for a toner and specifically asked for a golden honey blonde. Instead, I left with a dark, cool brown color that was the complete opposite of what I requested. Before I even left the salon, the stylist and other staff were trying to wash the color out, which made it clear it was wrong. The stylist knew I was unhappy, but I had a work event that night and had no real option but to leave. I called the salon the next day to have it fixed and was told there was no availability for two weeks. When I finally came back in, the stylist didn't even dry my hair--so there was no way to properly see whether the color had been corrected. Overall, this salon is overpriced, stressful, and inconsistent. Given the cost, I expected professionalism, attention to detail, and respect for client requests. I did not receive that and would not recommend this salon.
