    a pint of beer
    Stuart L.

Where do I start. We came by this place one night on a whim during the COVID restrictions. We really like the idea of being able to support the local businesses, especially the craft microbreweries. This is not too far from our house so it had the potential of being a regular place for us. And it has... Great beer and super welcoming owners. A few times we just came by to grab a growler or two, other times to get a growler to go with the take-away food we bought elsewhere, and now a couple of times to hang out at the bar (for SpaceX launch attempt and the actual launch to the International Space Station) with appropriate "social distancing". In addition to being very pleasant people to talk to, the owners also very much appreciate the history of aviation, the contributions of Dayton, and the future of space and exploration. Go check this place out. You'll become a regular, too!

My husband's torso enjoyed his flight!! :-P

Another great stop on our quest to check out all the up and coming breweries in the Dayton-Springfield region!! We arrived late Sunday afternoon, and although the small, storefront location was "taken over" by a monthly (weekly?) trivia contest, we still felt welcome, well taken care of, and even managed to join the tail-end of the competition!! Good service, convenient location, nice set-up, along with some great brews. Bob enjoyed his flight, and we're both hoping to return soon (without having to answer a bunch of TOUGH trivia questions!!!) Give 'em a try!!

I have driven by this place SO MANY times without even realizing it existed. We stopped by to get a stamp on our Dayton Ale Trail passport (Do it! You know you wanna....) This was so good! It's a little place in a strip mall next to (gasp!) Submarine House. Their beer menu is short but it was surprisingly diverse (and heavy on the IPAs, which I lurve). We got two flight, which encompassed their entire beer menu. Ya'll. I liked almost everything. There were some stouts and a crazy malty double IPA that I'm repressing, but there were some things I liked I didn't think I would. I loved that they gave you oyster crackers to help clear your palette between tastes. Service was quick and friendly and though it's small there were lots of TVs, if you need entertainment or like the sports ball with your beer. I was pleasantly surprised and have a feeling we might be back...a lot.

What a cool place! They are focused on local ingredients and they want their guest taps to all be #Dayton beers. I had the pleasure of touring the entire operation and I am excited about what they are bringing to the local craft beer scene.

Lost at Sea- American Amber Delicious!
    Brittany C.

The Amber is delicious. The atmosphere is local and friendly. The owner and brewer, Nick, is awesome and full of knowledge about many things beer, soccer, guns, and local history. Highly recommend this place.

Awesome place. The owners have a great story that they would love to tell you if you ask. The space is beautiful. It seems small from the outside but it's very long and spacious. Right now they have 2 of their own beers on tap, (and 8 other local beers on tap) but they are constantly brewing more! I highly recommend the golden ale or the American pale ale!

Now open!! Local pale ale now available with a great selection of Dayton brewery favorites.

This weekend we went to the Cellarbration 2026 held at this location. Every couple of years, they crack open a few treasures and share some special releases. This year, they had 22 choices, including my husband's favorite Warped Wing beer of all time, the 2019 Baltic Porter, aged in port wine barrels. We split a trio of sliders and a specialty flavor of wings, Honey Butter Buffalo, which were especially good. We liked all 3 sliders, but the stand out was the pulled pork...absolutely delicious! Because of the event, it was pretty busy at noon but the staff kept things cleared and cleaned. The bathrooms were clean but bare bones. It was quite loud for lunchtime but nothing that would keep us from returning.

There are some restaurants that I look forward to visiting on return business trips. Not this one.

Good choices to kick things off with and then we ordered all the apps! Good attempt w the Boudin Balls, but it needed alot more sausage, tasted like rice balls. The Muffaletta Deviled Eggs were very salty. Even after taking the olive topping off, the saltiness was soaked into the egg. Now the Grilled Shrimp Maque Choux was off the chain! I could've eaten 20 plates. Off to the entrees, we went with the Jambalaya and the Gumbo. The only mistake was not getting a bowl of Gumbo! It was very good. Cajuns would be proud! I hope the Gumbo is on their regular menu! Cannot wait to come back and try other stuff. Our server, TAYLOR was the best. So friendly, patient, accommodating, and fun. She made our meal experience. The selection of beers is impressive, and Taylor helped my decision with giving me samples of beers. I went with the Imperial Head Hunter and was happy as can be with this IPA, The food? Incredible. We started with mozzarella sticks and faux chicken tenders as appetizers. Both were great. The mango habanero sauce is more sweet than spicy. But both the cheese and chicken tenders were wonderful. Our appetizer +, was the tequila vegan chili. We don't find veggie chili very often, but this was prepared with veggie chili, beans and soyrizo. It was wonderful. My wife chose the jackfruit Reuben sandwich. Those of us that are vegetarian, miss favorites like Reuben sandwiches. This jackfruit Reuben met the challenge. Delicious and plentiful. I had the Fierro burger with an impossible patty. Definitely not as spicy as I wanted, but delicious nonetheless. Lucky's was a fun place either way, great food, cold beer, lots of vegan options, and a friendly staff. Go there!

The restaurant itself is a bit of a hole in the wall. Nothing fancy but they have a lot of interesting and yummy sounding dishes, with many vegetarian and vegan options. I'd love to try other items but just can't pull myself away from The Cobra. They also have a good beer selection and the servers are friendly. Food came out quickly and several people checked in on us to make sure everything was good.
