Upfront, I will admit to being a regular of Boulder's long term local ice creams/gelato shops. Each of those have two locations so they are never too far away. But Heaven has been open a while now and on such a hot day in March we decided to give it a try. It is so very different from our others, in some good ways and some not so good. The staff here today were all adults and may be the owners, I'm not sure, but very helpful to the constant line. The interior is very sweet and more comfortable and plentiful than our old standbys. This shop reminds me of style and decor of the new mochi donut shops that we have visited in the burbs around Boulder. So do many of the unique flavors. We tasted a few before choosing ice creams because they also have gelato, vegan gelato and true sorbets which are water based and should be. Other local places are now using soy for their sorbets to make them more creamy. Sadly the whole reason for a sorbet is to have the crisp flavor of the fruits or flavorings like coffee or chocolate. We tried a variety of flavors, and found that I still don't like things made with coconut milk, am fine with water or dairy. The stractiatella had the most authentic classic flavor. I could hardly taste anything in the rose petal but it was pretty. I ended up with avocado ice cream and it was fine and the texture as creamy as can be. My husband had the "Heaven" flavor and as far as I could tell from its taste , it was sweet cream ice cream, blue to match the decor. Next time I will try charcoal as my fave highlight on any pizza is the charred bubbles of crust. I hope it tastes like that. I do have to say, it's probably the most we have spent for a single scoop cone and a kid scoop cup. Will only be a special treat place, it's so precious. When I need a pint or a quart, we will still head to our longtime local faves. And if needed to feed a houseful of guests with kids we will too. But for a quick afternoon break closer to home, we will come back here and try even more flavors. I'd love if they would make some more unique flavors in gelato, sorbet or ice cream. I think some other bases compete too much for flavor with the "Star" flavor.

Overall: Hands down, my favorite gelato/ice cream/sorbet place in the US so far. The desserts: Huge variety to choose from for every palate with not-your-typical flavors (i.e. avocado, dragon fruit coconut, roasted banana, chocolate jalapeno, etc ) on a cone of your choice. The texture is smooth, even the sorbet and vegan options! What's their secret?? The flavors taste "real" and not artificial. Makes sense - there's been a few times where they've commented they use real {insert actual food here} to make whatever flavor I wowed over. You can also get a shake version of the gelato/ice cream/sorbet. Cafe drinks: Haven't tried these so can't speak to these but they have a decent selection beyond a latte and hot chocolate. Other stuff: I have yet to try their other treats but I noticed they usually have crepes and banana split items. They also have seasonal items that change beyond those two mentioned, a couple of which I really wanted to try but only had room for gelato (i.e. usually tropical and apple pie flavors were the flavors I wanted to go for). The Space: Open, lots of seating, indoor and outdoor. The Service: Friendly and professional. Let's you sample until you find the right choice. Gives good combo recs when you have choice paralysis. The Price: Reasonable for what it is. Not cheap, but not unreasonable. I mean, they're in a prime location - I assume rent must be stupid expensive. Extra: You can order a pint of whatever flavor is available. Loved roasted banana so much I got one. Plus, a lot of flavors are seasonal and you won't see it again until next year or never.

Yes, they are pricy - 2 ice creams (double scoop) on w cone was $20+ But, this is definitely higher quality than a lot of ice cream shops. I love that they have vegan, ice cream, and gelato along with a great variety of flavors! I loved the taro and avocado! Will definitely stop by their closer locations as well!

Fabulous spot with unique flavors! We did the tiramisu gelato and the Ferrera Rocher ice cream, and both were so good. They do taste testers as well!

Really interesting flavors! The line was not long but it didn't go that quickly because the team really takes their time scooping. Then they weigh it to make sure you get your scoop's worth! That was pretty interesting! Plenty of places to sit and enjoy!

Food: I had the Heaven ice cream and peanut butter ice cream. Both delicious. The heaven ice cream was a delightful pastel blue, because it was colored with butterfly pea flower. The consistency was smooth, creamy, and it was not to thick or runny. The peanut butter ice cream had the perfect amount, not too overpowering. Service: The line moved slowly, but the employees were nice and they had samples available if you wanted to try anything. Ambience: They had a nice outdoor patio with string lights, perfect for a summer evening. Overall: A nice treat for a hot summer day!

Amazing service and ice cream, didn't even know it was 50% less sugar and all organic ingredients plus no food dye! The rose petal ice cream and the heaven was insane

Fun place with a wide array of flavors. A bit pricey, and some flavors seem outlandish. Waffle cone was good. Service was good. Store was clean. Just not for me.

So creamy! The Heaven flavor (butterfly pea flower) is delicious We will definitely be back.

Heaven Creamery is officially my favorite ice cream spot! I went to try it on my own and had their fresas con crema. I bought pints to go and brought family multiple times! The variety of flavors is impressive! They have ice cream and gelato (vegan options too), crepes, coffee, seasonal desserts...I love it. Their signature flavor is Heaven, a vanilla with butterfly pea flower that makes it a gorgeous blue. And the pineapple lemongrass sorbet is the stuff dreams are made of!

Great service, great options, great flavor! I LOVED this place! They have something for everyone - vegan ice creams, gelato, ice cream, gluten free crepes, milkshakes, baked goods, coffees and more! They change the flavors often so you can always try something new. I was visiting from out of town and will definitely come back anytime I'm in Colorado. I also love that they don't use processed sugars or artificial flavors. It's a win all around!

But I am glad we had time today and went shortly after they opened for brunch and really enjoyed ourselves. We decided to share one savory crepe and one sweet. They are very large yet delicate and we barely finished them. Our savory was the Parisian and the sweet was the classic lemon. They were perfect in every way. Order at the counter when you arrive and choose a seat in the dining area. It's classic white walls with art and wood tabletops and metal classic cafe chairs. The food was excellent, the French chef owner made the crepes and delivered them to the table. We had picked up our drinks as we paid before choosing a table. It's usually been full when I've seen pictures in the past but it was a very cold day and students at CU as well as other families just getting back from the holiday season. They also offer Build Your Own Crepe and we probably will next time. For a sweet crepe next time I would do one with Nutella but without any banana as many of the standard choices had. For savory next time I would take the Normandy. We chose quickly today as a line started forming behind us. I had looked online at the menu though my husband had not had time. A plan would be good. It appeared that the counter staff may also be family. It is such a welcoming place with really good food, not found elsewhere in Boulder. And very good pricing for quality and portion size. They opened in an unusual little spot, almost downtown but not quite, in the stretch along Broadway between CU and the Pearl St Mall. They have a small parking access to 4 shared spaces with the shop next door to it and the access is on Arapahoe. If you are staying at the large new hotels on the Hill it's an easy walk, the equivalent of one long block. If you know Boulder well and need to easily park, there is paid parking in the library lot across Broadway and an easy flat walk both ways.

A legit French bakery and restaurant!…read more Step one, parking. They have a lot, but it is not large. There is street parking nearby. Be mindful of the tow away signs for the other businesses. Get there early! We came late morning on a Saturday and there was, understandably, a wait. It was worth it. They do have outside seating. This particular morning was chilly so all seating was inside. My husband had a BLT on baguette that came with their seasoned potatoes. He said the baguette had a nice chew to it and the bacon was crispy. The potatoes were delicious. My daughter chose the Parisian Crepe. It had fresh berries, whipped cream, raspberry coulis and maple syrup. She savored each bite. I selected the Croque Madame. It is one of my favorites, and I normally cannot find it anywhere. Croque Madame is an open faced sandwich. They used brioche bread for the base, then had ham and Swiss cheese over bechamel with poached eggs perched on top. I chose to get the side salad with was mixed greens and vinaigrette. We all enjoyed our breakfast. Even with the crowd, we did not feel rushed. The service was great. Our water was kept filled throughout. I would definitely go back. Next time I want to check out the bakery portion.
