If you're looking for a great view this is the place to go. The restaurant is open air overlooking the ocean. For cooler/windy days they have heaters on the ceiling. On Tuesdays the do taco Tuesday: $4 tacos (chicken, bbq, and shrimp) and $5 Jimador margaritas. The margaritas were great and really complimented the setting. Out of the tacos I was told the BBQ was better than the shrimp (both flavor wise and portion size) while the fried shrimp flavor was overpowered by the toppings. They also have fish tacos, but those aren't on special. I had the black bean wrap which was pretty good, with a side of truffle fries (+$3) . The table also got truffle fries to share, not listed on the menu but the bowl was $12. Overall I'd say this place is worth a visit, even for views and drinks alone. read more

Just got back rom dinner at Heaton's. What a total disaster. Had a 6:15 dinner reservation. My wife ordered the steak Frites. I order the smash burger. Over an hour later we had no food. Three tables that arrived after us got their food before us. I ask for a the manager. He was all apologies. My wife's meal came out finally. The manager asked me if my wife and I were splitting the steak frites. I said no, I ordered a smash burger an hour ago, They ran out back and grabbed me a burger. Probably someone else's. My wife's steak was inedible. It was awful, I gave her half of my burger. I told the waitress we were not paying for the steak frites, To be fair the manager comped our meal, Ok, fine, I gave the waitress a $40 tip and said it wasn't her fault. This place is a mess. I haven't been to Heaton's in a while but used to go there frequently in the last three years for lobster rolls. I was shocked to see that they raised the price from the $20's to $45! My family opted to watch Super Bowl LV at Heaton's, and it far exceeded our hopes. In advance, the friendly, accommodating staff reserved a table with optimal television viewing. The heated, open-air environment felt delightful as we watched Patrick Mahomes scramble for his life behind his depleted offensive line. When it began raining, Heaton's lowered the curtains just enough to keep us dry but still able to enjoy the fresh air. The upscale bar fare trickled out at the perfect pace and tasted delicious. We treated ourselves to chicken wings, cheeseburgers and truffle fries, among other gameday delicacies. Heaton's restaurant was on our lists of favorite places. In fact, we make a point to visit any time we visit Vero Beach. Recently we went for my husband's birthday. The food was good and service was fair; however, after we left we realized that for our table of six the tip was included on the check. Our friend, who paid the bill (as the server refused to split it) added her own tip in. The server didn't mention this before she paid. Yes, it was on the check, but out of courtesy it would've been nice to know. We went another evening for dinner. Unfortunately it was storming, but from visiting before we knew they had screens that would come down to protect diners from the elements. In the middle of our meal, the storm got really bad; however, they couldn't put the majority of the screens down because they were broken. We had to scurry to the bar to finish our meal. This sort of killed the whole dining experience. Had we known this was going to be an issue we would eaten next door at Colbalt.. It doesn't seem like the quality of Heatons is up to what it was before. It is never busy there and this might be why. The view is beautiful and food is good; however, some of these issues need to be addressed. For the price of dinner and the upscale hotel atmosphere, it needs work. read more

This place was a gem. It is located at the upscale Kimpton resort. We actually came to eat at Cobalt next door, but they didn't have any tables on the patio, so we decided to check out the Heaton's. We came here for a light brunch. We sat on the patio and while the wait was long, it didn't bother us as we had the beautiful ocean view and a nice breeze. The Black Bourbon Brew was one of the best cocktails I've had. The Florida citrus salad was fresh and had just the right amount of dressing and flavor. My husband and daughter had burgers that were great and fries were very delicious. After lunch we walked on the beach which was great! We would love to be back for dinner. A very convenient place especially when staying on the property. They have daily drink specials, which are $5.00 as well as a nice happy hour food/drink menu. They offer poolside service which all of the servers are very friendly and nice. The drinks are made very well and were all very good. We got food during the happy hour time and it was a nice light late lunch. We ordered the shrimp, hummus, and pulled pork sliders. All of them were very good and light. Nothing was too heavy. Overall this is very nice poolside bar & grill. Your tab will add up quickly if you don't drink the daily specials or happy hour specials. read more

Steak was very dry and overdone. Probably the worst steak I've ever had, including from a chain steakhouse. This was more of a sirloin than the NY Strip as on the menu. This grill/ bar is located pool side at the Klimpton Vero Beach Resort. Ambiance is outdoor tropical with a full bar. They also have a few Tvs broadcasting various football games. The drinks were ok. We tried their signature Pineapple Express. It fell a little short of what I expected but it did come in a cute glass which you can keep and have refilled for $12 (original price $18). We also ordered the Heaton Burger which took forever to get. Over 40 minutes wait for a burger and fries. read more

We sat at the bar, ordered drinks and two items for lunch (cheeseburger and ceaser salad/chicken.). We waited for the food for about an hour. It never came. Apparently after I walked out bc of pure frustration, the bartender told my husband that they had given our meals to someone else. As a consolation, the bartender bought my husband a drink. So disappointing to see one of the most beautiful outdoor,waterfront settings in Vero Beach unable to deliver an acceptable service level. On a weekday evening with a surprisingly small crowd, menus, water, drink order, and entree orders were all separated by prolonged inattention. Food delivery from one of the 2 waitresses took forever from a kitchen that had no other orders pending or in process. Do they have a manager? Is the Vero Beach Hotel not concerned with a restaurant facility on their property? One patron got so frustrated with paying his check that he staked out a spot outside the kitchen to ambush an employee to get the bill, then to submit credit card, and then to get receipt. All the while the hostess wandered aimlessly throughout the floor wiping tables and removing water glasses in anticipation of closing up. As a full time resident and an ardent supported of Vero, I hate to see such a beautiful opportunity wasted. read more

Dedicating my first ever Yelp review to this establishment. Unfortunately it's a bad one. I had a drink and some food at the restaurant, Cobalt, that is also attached to this hotel/spa, and was told the live music next door was worth checking out. I walk up to the bar and asked not the bartender, but the manger, if I could sit at an empty high top that was closer to the music and further from the commotion of the bar. Not even 8 mins after I sat down I was told to leave because I wasn't ordering food or drinks. I explain to the SEE You En Tee of a hostess who approached me that I was told by her "manager" that I could sit here until the restaurant got busy enough to where they would need a table. Typical conversation you'd have at any place right ? She said I can sit closer to the water and further from the musician if I'd like because she'd probably seat someone at the high top. I said no that's okay. I found a barstool by the bar and was watching the music from more than 20 feet away till the manager approached me yet again and asked if I was ordering food or drinks and then continued to ask if I was following the musician around as a fan / if that was the reason why I wanted to sit closer. I said no I just enjoy live music (been over a year since we've all gotten a taste of that) and ate next door already. He said "okay great just making sure". Then walked away. At this point the live music was no longer enjoyable from a distance.. Blonde curly haired hostess never sat anyone at the table and the restaurant closed shortly after the music stopped. We went here for dinner, and everything was fantastic! Superb steaks with amazingly delicious truffle fries, and a delicious tuna tartare appetizer. The service is super friendly and efficient.
