We had our a/c go out during the hottest weeks of the summer. After calling around some places, Daniel was able to squeeze us in while other companies told us it was going to be a two week wait. All I ask is honesty. I asked this company to do a job and they said they could do it. They actually had the nerve to charge my card and not finish the job and say they will come back and after they came back they still said they couldn't do it and they would come back another time when they could to possibly do it. So I hired another HVAC company and they came out and did the job instantly. It's ridiculous you can't trust anyone these days. Our basement flooded damaging our furnace and water heater. We were victims of a storm that affected all of central Ohio dumping almost 3 inches of rain on us in just a few hours. Demand for this type of service was quite high and finding anyone to do this was a challenge I contacted Heating and Cooling Doctors and reached the owner who was already out on another job. Immediately he offered to help pump the water out of the basement and reassured us he would take care of everything. Within 2 hours he personally came out to the house and assessed the damage, sadly the water heater was lost but was confident he could fix the heater. He was able to come back the next morning and deal with both problems in a quick and efficient manner. Daniel even brought in outside help to assist him getting our job done as quickly as possible. AMAZING, HONEST, KNOWLEDGEABLE, LOCAL FAMILY COMPANY!! I typically don't leave reviews but this experience went from bad (no heat)to worse(1st company we called) and then ended up meeting/forming an amazing hopefully lifelong working relationship with Heating & Cooling Doctors. I felt both of these companies needed to be recognized accordingly. **THE OTHER COMPANY: Our 23 yr old furnace stopped working properly last Friday night. Unfortunately not knowing about Heating & Cooling Doctors yet we called one of the big companies to send a technician out around 9pm(charged $165 service call). Tech arrived & after looking at the furnace for 5 minutes told us that our heat exchanger was "rusted out from a leaky AC indoor coil" and both the furnace and A/C(which worked fine all summer) weren't worth fixing. Really scared my family telling us furnace was unsafe and the carbon monoxide would probably make adults dizzy/sick but our pets & kids would probably DIE!! His boss called then and continued these high pressure sales & scare tactics trying to get us to spend $8k-$11k On a whole new furnace AND AC! They said their tech could start tearing out our current equipment that night and an install team could come out w/ new equipment next day and they "wouldn't even charge extra!" This other company rushing & scaring us felt sketchy... so we asked our Facebook friends for advice. Our pastor and several other Westerville natives overwhelmingly recommended we call Heating & Cooling Doctors. **HEATING & COOLING DOCTORS: Knowing they were a smaller company we didn't expect to reach anyone since it was almost 1030pm by now. Surprisingly our call was answered, actually by the owner Daniel! He confirmed our suspicions and warned about the other company which pays their service techs commissions to condemn equipment. He offered to come over within next 30 minutes for a FREE 2nd opinion/estimate. WOW...10:30pm on a Friday night at no charge!! He arrived and thoroughly inspected our entire system taking 5x longer then what the other company spent (& overcharged us for). Unlike the other tech he used his inspection camera and showed us the inside of our furnace. He did find a small crack inside heat exchanger but no huge holes leaking gases like we were told. Also, he pointed out the other tech couldn't have even seen the A/C coil in such short time/without taking some metal apart(which didn't happen). Daniel offered to disassemble and inspect A/C for a small charge, afterwards he informed us that not only is the A/C coil fine but our AC wasn't 23 yrs old like the furnace... our AC WAS ONLY 6yrs old!!!Now we're really mad the 1st company lied to our face multiple times and tried to make us move quickly to avoid this truth being discovered!! Daniel gave us all the options for repairing or replacing equipment, didn't pressure us or try to sell us stuff we didn't need. His honesty, knowledge and top quality equipment for a very reasonable price led us to our decision to tune-up & clean current a/c and replace our furnace w/ a new Rheem high efficiency furnace, a central humidifier, and a much better air cleaner/filter(to help our allergies/daughters asthma) that weekend. We got all of that for about 30% less than the other company was charging for lower quality basic equipment!! Daniel ran back to his shop and returned with temporary space heaters he loaned us until the install team came out to replace furnace. Jason, Dave, & Dan continued to impress us with how meticulous they were on a Saturday installation. They went through the entire system with us, even programming the new thermostat exactly how we wanted. I cannot recommend this company enough... especially if you're on the north side of town since they offered Extra discounts in certain zip codes, (definitely Westerville can't remember others). We love supporting small local businesses and can't ask for anything more than this experience!! We have a rental w/ a leaky hot water tank they're looking at next week for us. I can not say enough good things about this company. Contacted Daniel on Monday 6/11/18 about our A/C that stopped work. He said they unfortunately were scheduling a week out, but he would see if he could try to fit us in. He was able to come by that evening and take a look. Unfortunately it was too late for him to fix or replace anything. Left me with to portable A/Cs for our kids rooms and the main area. He was able to have a install team out the next day 6/12/18 who made sure they cleaned up everything after they were done. Company stated they would arrive between 2-4pm. They didn't arrive until 6:40pm Friday evening. They quickly figured out the problem but couldn't get the part they needed until at least the next day. We were told we would definitely have heat by the end of the weekend. The next 36 hours, both Saturday and Sunday, lead to minimal to no communication from the company. They weren't going to have the job done by Sunday. We ended up cancelling with them and going with someone else. They did provide two space heaters for us to use (the only positive part of the experience). read more
