Edgar from Airmaxx proposed several different options for the best way to add air conditioning to our home. He was very knowledgeable, professional, and responsive. They were not the cheapest bid but I was confident they could deliver the quality job I was looking for. Vitaliy and two other installers arrived the morning of the scheduled installation. We walked the job and discussed my expectations. They got started and shortly thereafter Vitaliy came to me with the first problem. The location of one of the ceiling cassette units would not work because of how the roof was framed and the roof pitch. We discussed alternatives and decided on a new location for the cassette unit. The next problem was how to run the line set to the furthest location taking into account the shallow roof pitch and access. After some discussion we came up with an approach. Vitaliy and the crew along with Edgar were able to run the line set to the furthest location. The installation proceeded smoothly until we discovered that one of the condensation drain lines was not working correctly (thank goodness Vitaliy had the foresight to check it before it became a bigger problem). They got the drain line fixed and completed the installation. Before you question why there were "problems" know that any retrofit has potential issues and it is how the contractor addresses them that determines how good the contractor is. I say this having been a high end custom home builder in another state since 1986. Their workmanship was excellent ( lines and items they installed were plumb, level or sloped, and well secured as appropriate). I would not hesitate to recommend Edgar, Vitaliy, and Airmaxx to family and friends.

I messaged, and we scheduled a maintenance/inspection of my HVAC system since it appeared to be a possible clog in the line. I was getting the excess water dripping off 2nd story. He also rerouted the condensate drain. Everything is working now. As always appreciate Javier explaining exactly what he does and also why and cause of what is going on in the system. Cano is my first choice for HVAC. I will write another post when we have our system replaced.

I asked about military discount and the rep said i wouldn't get it because I have tenants (keep in mind they are also military). So despite being the home owner who is paying for the service, I would not get military discount nor would I get it because my tenants were military. The rep asked to step away for a minute from the call to find the answer to a question. In that time I explained the stupidity of the discount failure to my girlfriend. The rep overheard my conversation (despite her asking to step away from the call and this being a private/external conversation) and without warning, abruptly hung up. She did not call me back despite multiple calls and texts. She then without any warning, booked me 30 minutes later without any discussion about moving forward with them. I obviously was not going to, nor am I ever going to go with this service. How the hell are you gonna be ridiculous about the military discount, hang up on me, and then book me anyways without responding to my follow up calls and texts. what a joke. I was even contemplating a complete upgrade of my ground unit condenser too. Guess someone else will get the pay check. I have a 6 year old Bosch heat pump operating in A/C mode only. I was told it was a bad thermal expansion valve and would need about $3800 worth of parts and labor to fix. I called West Coast for a second opinion seeing as they did a great job installing a mini split unit for me 2 years ago. Uriel came out and determined it was a bad sensor in the outdoor unit and to replace that would be 1/10 the cost quoted by the other company. Uriel found that the wire to the sensor had been chewed through, likely by a rat. The A/C is now functioning correctly and I'm very happy with the team at West Coast Heating Cooling and Solar.

To save on heating costs, I hadn't used my furnace in several years (usually just wear layers of…read moreclothing to keep me warm when it's cold). This past winter was SO COLD, I finally decided to turn my furnace on, but nothing happened. I have a home warranty, so I called them & they put me in touch with Kool-Air Heating & Cooling. It was the night before Christmas Eve, so Salwan (Kool-Air company owner) & his son, Ali, came out the day after Christmas. My furnace is located at the back of my garage on a narrow platform ~9' above the garage floor; it's not easy to get to and there's only minimal space in which to work, with cross beams and rafters intersecting the area. It turns out my furnace was so old (original with ~50 y.o. house), several components had failed & the entire system needed replacing, which required approval from my home warranty company. Initially, my home warranty company denied my furnace replacement, saying it was too old (that's a whole other story). Over the following 5 weeks, Salwan continued to call the home warranty company on my behalf and eventually obtained approval to proceed. They purchased a new Lennox unit (which a neighbor who installs HVAC systems told me was a "really good furnace") and got to work. Because of the small work space, Ali did the bulk of the work, disconnecting & removing the old furnace and installing the new furnace. My house and the original system were so old that the vent and vent connectors did not fit with current standard components, so Salwan and Ali had to custom-make the fittings. For that reason, as well as the difficulty of working on the small platform intersected by beams and rafters, plus the heat (on an unusually warm day for this past winter), after nearly 7 hours, installation of the new furnace was not yet complete. Thus, Ali returned the following morning, working all day to finish installation and insulation of the furnace, thoroughly cleaning the area (including the complete platform) and the garage floor w/a vacuum, then installing and setting up a new digital thermostat. I love my new furnace. Fortunately, the weather has warmed up so I'm not using it right now, but I know that it's there in perfect working condition the next time I need it. Kool-Air Heating & Cooling is an excellent company. Being family-owned aloiws them the ability to offer customized/personalized service of the highest quality. Salwan and Ali are both extremely competent [Ali told me his dad has owned his own HVAC company both in their home country and here for (if I recall correctly) ~40 years, and that he has been working with his dad full-time for (I believe) ~8 yrs], thorough, and professional. Salwan is an honest and trustworthy businessman. My cost on top of what the home warranty covered was half of what I was expecting! Ali is reliable, pleasant (depite the heat and difficult working conditions), and persistent (kept working when he ran into trouble setting up the digital thermostat). My garage was left cleaner than when they began working. Equally important to their competence, both Salwan and Ali are very nice, and I felt completely comfortable and safe with them. I can not sing Salwan and Ali's praises enough! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Kool-Air Heating & Cooling company to anyone who wants their HVAC job done right at a reasonable price by truly good people!!

My point was that your employee's don't care about the customers at all. I was honest with the tech when I told him I'm new to HVAC systems and don't want to be taken advantage of, and listened to everything he told me. The point was, your technician at NO POINT thought that airflow might be restricted by something, let me troubleshoot it quickly to see. Once they came out, Alex was very diligent in looking at all parts of the system to find out what was wrong. Another company quoted me with a repair to the wiring to my thermostat, but Alex found there was a connection in my condenser that was the real issue. Once he fixed that connection, my AC has been running flawlessly. Alex was very helpful and worked very hard in some pretty hot heat for a long period of time and ultimately fixed our problem.
