Kenneth is fantastic, I highly recommend working with him for any HVAC needs! Our AC suddenly stopped blowing cold air so we reached out to Kenneth to come check out our unit. He was able to come the very next day, was very communicative about being delayed at a prior appointment and what timing would be for his arrival, and then once here he had our air working again in less than 45 minutes. Thanks for making our summer much cooler and more comfortable, Kenneth! read more

I initially thought highly of this company who install a new AC system in my home. But after installation, I realized that he did not comply with code or manufactural minimums for electrical amps. And after having sever issues, and phone calls (where he was difficult to even get back out), he acted like it was a filter that was causing the circuits to be tripped (rather than he installed a breaker that couldn't support the system). I'm super disappointed in who I thought was a great guy and great company. read more

Heating Alternatives - Minimum amps was clearly listed as 31.8 and he installed a 20 amp breaker for the AC system! Which began to trip the breaker. - Heating & Air Conditioning/HVAC Near Me

I booked an appointment for my mini splits to be cleaned after hearing a faint noise. I've had them for 11 years and figured they needed general maintenance.Kenneth came out and inspected them and told me I didn't need to waste the time and money . I appreciated his honesty and warm demeanor and will definitely keep him in my database for a real fix in the future. read more

Kenneth is a miracle worker, bar none. I have multiple businesses across the greater LA metro area and he's always found a solution, sparring us from replacing complex heating units like a 60 year old gravity heater to newer HVAC systems that other outfits swear must be replaced. So when we need a brand new system, I know I can trust him and his crew to install a unit that will be built to last. read more

After one company said that no one makes parts for old gravity furnaces, and another company charged me thousands for a part they installed that failed after a few months, Ken not only found the problem, he found a replacement part and installed it for an affordable price. He didn't pitch other systems, he fixed mine and I am happy as can be with his work and how easy he is to be with. Ken is now part of my entourage of experts. I wouldn't think of calling anyone else. read more

Kenny and Marvin installed a natural gas patio heater in a day and did a beautiful job. Kenny came out a week ahead of install and we talked through the layout and routing of gas lines and electrical. The vision became reality and I couldn't be more pleased. Often times Yelp will match you with professionals that are located far away from you, and let's face it, they aren't usually as motivated or take the same amount of pride as a neighbor that is closer to you. This was not the case here, I wanted to go with a local business and support my neighbors and that's exactly what I got. You can't go wrong with Kenny and I look forward to having him come back for more HVAC work in the future read more

I called for a broken heater based on their Yelp reviews and was not disappointed. Kenneth arrived that evening and diagnosed the problem. He texted me pictures of the part that needed replacing so I could research pricing if I desired. He picked up the part the next day and fixed my unit that evening. Great service and he was super nice! read more

Came out same day and fixed issue. When contacting the company, there were pleasant to deal with.

Kenneth was super responsive truly runs a good business. Very honest I highly recommend him.

KENNETH IS THE MAN! He fixed our AC unit in 20 minutes. He's so respectful and beyond sweet. Our unit is 40 years old, and he didn't try to sell us on replacing it. When he fixed it, he said to ride it through, and once it's officially dead, then we can talk about replacing it. Such an honest man! 2 weeks prior, I regretfully had another AC repair company come over, and they spent 45 mins "working on the unit" and in the end told me the whole thing needed to be replaced and there was no fix. They also charged me for the visit which accomplished nothing. Ridiculous! Do yourself a favor & hire Kenneth! read more

I had another great experience with Kenneth from Heating Alternatives. This time the job was to replace all the heating ducts that led to the forced air floor heating vents. So, Kenneth spent a couple of days crawling on his belly in a very limited space under a 2300 square foot house. He did a great job and even found some ducts that had been disconnected for years! The heat flows as it should now thanks to Kenneth. read more

Great fast reliable service. Kenneth responded to my help in need call and was there for me first thing in the morning (Saturday). Great person, friendly and would welcome him back to my home anytime. My AC unit was leaking water and he took care of the job and more. read more

Kenneth quickly responded to a service request by texting me and speaking by phone. On arrival, he promptly figured out the furnace problem and got it running again. He also installed a new thermostat. Ken is fast, smart, knowledgeable and friendly. He's also careful not to recommend unnecessary services and products. Recommended! read more

Heating Alternatives was 1,000 l% excellent when my old-school wall heater died. I was out of state and they dealt with the permit, inspection, installation, and removal of dead heater like a champ. The work was beautifully done, with paint and plaster matched to the original, and it was fast. I would recommend them without hesitation. Thanks so much, guys. read more

Kenneth is awesome! From the start of the process he was completely on top of it. Returned my call quickly, got my on the schedule ASAP, gave me thorough rundown of my options and made me feel very confident in him. He got the job done swiftly and it looks great! He was also very reasonably priced! I felt so good about his work that I asked him who he would refer for other jobs around my place because I'm sure he only works with the best! Absolutely recommend Heating Alternatives! Thank you! read more

Our 2nd floor air conditioning unit stopped working suddenly Friday. Kenneth of Heating Alternatives had been to our house several years ago for a heating issue, which he resolved, so I contacted him to check out out air conditioning problem. Ken came out on Saturday as agreed, but needed to a taller 28 foot ladder to access our roof top units. Ken booked us for Sunday morning, showed up on time, used his 28 foot ladder and diagnosed the problem quickly. He explained the problem and had the parts in his van and ready to make the repair. After the repair, he pointed out the problems on the old parts which were 18 years old. Ken is a good man who is knowledgeable, honest, straight forward, and fair. Thanks Ken!! read more

Had Kenneth install a mini split to replace my old rusted gas heating unit. Did an excellent job installing the unit and gladly returned to service it when it needed. I am glad I have a HVAC person to count on. read more

Kenneth was amazing to work with! He came over on relatively short notice to troubleshoot and repair our A/C. He came with solutions and was able to fix our A/C after another company couldn't and instead gave us a quote to replace the entire system at a high cost. Kenneth is very professional, honest, and transparent. It's clear that he is very knowledgeable and we will certainly be working with him again! read more

I'm thrilled to write this review for Heating Alternatives. Ken (owner), and Alex (technician) resolved an issue I was having with a switch allowing my furnace to be controlled. What's more is when I experienced a problem with a strange noise the furnace was making Ken sent Alex back to take a look at what was causing the issue. Alex figured out there were some loose connectors which they repaired at no additional charge. I truly appreciate their customer service and assistance in resolving my home heating needs! read more

Kenneth came to give an estimate regarding my broken heater and told me that it was the fan motor that needed to be repaired. Like many others that would tell you to spend $8k to replace the entire unit, he was very honest and said that it was repairable and also helped me fix my two gas fireplaces at no cost. I didn't end up retaining his services right away because I needed to save up some money in order to go forth with the repair but I will be coming back in a few weeks to have Kenneth fix my heater. read more

Kenneth and Marvin were contracted to install a mini split system in my home in May 2017. After a haphazard install, there were MANY ISSUES: breaking my gas line, the Gas Company was called and my home not having any gas service for a week. Kenneth was unprofessional all around, late to work, early to leave, in the installation and also was deceitful of installing a cheaper piece of equipment, not the one agreed upon and signed on the contract. I strongly suggest that you check the serial numbers and the equipment on your contract, because most likely Heating Alternatives installed a cheaper/outdated/smaller capacity unit. Heating Alternatives repeatedly did not respond to the request via phone or email to complete the job. LA Dept of Buildings was called and they confirmed the job was not done. I filed in small claims against Heating Alternatives, Kenneth was a no show, twice. I won the judgement against his company. In the end, I was able to settle and get compensation from Heating Alternatives in mandatory arbitration via the California State License Board. After over a year of headache, turmoil and a non working, incomplete mini split HVAC system. I am still astounded at the level of unprofessionals that I encountered with Heating Alternatives. All claims against Heating Alternatives can be looked up via the LA Small Claims case summary. Please review this contractor's history with his bond companies, they dropped him. CSLB has a file and history of this claim, which was ruled in my favor. AVOID HEATING ALTERNATIVES read more

Kenneth came out the same day to fix my heater in the pouring rain. He was transparent and honest with me about the repair costs and the course of action needed to complete the job. He was able to fix my heater on the spot. Very impressed and grateful. It's really hard to find honest HVAC repair in LA... consider Heating Alternatives an easy choice! Thank you, Kenneth! read more

Heating Alternatives saved me two years ago when the blower motor stopped working on my AC unit. A competing company suggested replacing the whole unit at a cost of $15k, but Heating Alternatives fixed it for less than $1500. I texted them again yesterday because the AC was cycling every 20 seconds. They came out today and tested the unit but couldn't reproduce the issue. Incredibly, there was no charge! I cannot recommend Heating Alternatives enough for their excellent customer service, promptness and honesty. Thank you! read more

*** Meh ... very unimpressive customer service. *** Took about 3-4 days before returning my initial call. No quote beforehand, yet charged $400 afterwards to replace a ~ $20 part within just under 30 minutes. So I'd definitely say they are way overpriced as well. *** I would not recommend nor use them again. *** read more

Excellent experience. Kenneth went over and beyond to troubleshoot my AC. He spent alot of time trying to save my AC compressor, but it was blown, and he walked me through exactly what happened. I had a special compressor that required Kenneth to travel an hour away to obtain from the distributor. He went out of his way to get the new compressor, although it backed up his schedule of appointments. Instead of missing his appointments, he came back and forth over the next day to install my new compressor in between breaks in other appointments. He probably did not have a minute off until 9pm. I have never seen better service. I would recommend him in a heartbeat! Thanks Kenneth. read more

Kenneth immediately found my problem during his inspection of my duct work in the attic. Just as suspected somebody had knocked loose my main flex duct leading from the plenum. He fixed the issue at a nominal price. He's a friendly and honest person, and I will recommend him to my friends and neighbors. read more

Just got off the phone with the owner/ supervisor and was a completely rude & disrespectful . Wouldn't stop working while talking so I couldn't hear myself. ... and actually said to me "spit it out bro". Then continued to be very rude and dismissive on the phone. Saying "I'll try". I was calling because the work he did failed On a repair from on a blower from 2 months ago & is under warranty. We have tenants who are cold and need the heater fixed and he said he would "try" to get there before Monday. Last time dealing with them was good. Today was very unprofessional and disrespectful. He could just be having a bad day.. but I Would not reccomnended using them. I won't be. I never give bad reviews. But I can't let this slide. read more

Kenneth provided such prompt and excellent service with the installation of a new wall heater for my parents that I reached out to him again after receiving a shocking $6,000.00 quote from another heating company that worked on our central furnace unit for over an hour and then said it needed to be replaced. My husband called Kenneth who came right over and was able to quickly repair our existing furnace within 10 minutes. We are very happy customers. Thank you Kenneth read more

I called Kenneth today to discuss the issues we are having. Even though I'm not scheduling the work yet, I am definitely planning to use him in the future. I worked in the construction industry for mostly administrative work so I know when contractors are helpful or not. He is knowledgeable and very good about offering helpful information without needing anything in return. This is how you do business and he's quite smart and knows how to solve problems while giving you new ideas. I recommend you at least call him. Trustworthy. read more

This is by far the best company I've worked with when it comes to fixing/renovating/updating our very old home. our 100-year old house didnt have any HVAC at all. We reached out at 9 pm on a very hot night and Kenneth responded right away. He came the following morning for a quote and was extremely thorough, managed expectations professionally, and educated us step by step. His prices are incredibly fair for the amount of work him and his lovely team do. They cleaned up after themselves every day they were finished with the job and were just such kind people. Plus, their attention to detail was great for someone who cares a lot about the way things look. Every vent was perfectly centered and they installed a Nest for us at the end. Thank you Kenneth and team! You have our business for life. read more

I have NEVER written a review before, but this is some nonsense. This place is a joke. I called asking for help with a heater at a home I am doing repairs on. They asked me where the heater was and I told them I am not sure. They told me to go and look for it and tell them where it was because how were they supposed to find it. Dude are you kidding me? Aren't you the professional who knows what heaters look like and where they typically are in homes? You had the audacity to ask someone "How are you supposed to know" Um....have you heard of USE YOUR EYES AND LOOK? or idk...WORK? You can't be serious. I had to hang up after telling him never mind. If the business is asking you to do work before they even get there, RUN. Why hire someone if you have to do the job yourself. read more

Kenneth showed up with another guy learning the job and charged me $395 to replace an $80 part in my furnace. $125 for trouble shooting, and $370 for a job that took 30 minutes if that. When I asked why it was so much he said because he had to train his guy. I said hell no and he miraculously took off $50. I paid just to get them out of my house and avoid a problem. Should have asked for the estimate beforehand. Never again. And I am skeptical of all the positive reviews here. Definitely not reflective of my experience and if he took advantage of me like this I am sure I am not alone. read more

I had three HVAC companies come over for estimates for a mini split system and I liked Kenneth's design the best. He did a nice clean install. I had only one issue that I am sure would not have been an issue with anyone else but I am a picky person. He came back as promised and covered the line where it did not need it. Ken has skills and works hard with positive attitude. Very fair pricing. Thanks again. read more

Kenneth is simply the best. He came out on a holiday weekend to fix our air conditioner, same day. Then, when we later realized it wasn't a good permanent fix, he spent HOURS in our attic trying everything and figured out the problem even when the manufacturer support couldn't. He then drove 2 hours to pick up a repair board and installed it that same day. Super kind, super courteous, can't recommend him enough! If you're reading this, thanks buddy! read more

A major heat wave in LA on the week of Sept 4! Horrendous heat, everyone is practically staying indoors. My HVAC broke down, no AC!! I highly recommend Kenneth, a superhero in getting my AC during the hottest days in Mid-City! read more

All I have to say is wow, these guys are the nicest, most professional and courteous servicing professionals I have dealt with as a homeowner. We had scheduled a time for a Tuesday for them to come in and look at my AC unit because it was making a crazy noise and they even called on the Monday before to see if I was in since they were in the area already. They came in, he gave me a few possible issues that it could be and then just went right into diagnosing the problem. After testing it out for about 20-30mins he found nothing to be wrong with the AC unit with the exception that the compressor may make a noise every once in a while if it runs hard on a hot day. If the noise becomes too much of a nuisance he'd be happy to replace it but it isn't necessary since it would be an expensive change. Total cost of this visit: $0.00 That's good service and when the time comes I will have them service our AC unit again. Highly recommend these guys! read more

Kenneth was honest, professional, knowledgeable, fast, efficient, reliable, and a great technician. My Bryant hvac heater broke during the holidays. I called and he gave me an estimated diagnosis over the phone, possible solutions, and an estimate. Getting a concrete time was a little hard but he was available sooner than later and came as soon as he could. He assessed the problem, took the entire squirrel cage with him, fixed it elsewhere, came back to install and test it. It worked perfectly. My entire family cheered for him! He also didn't try to sell me anything beyond what was needed for labor and parts. I highly recommend him and Heating Alternatives. read more
