When I politely asked the employee for a bit more fruit, especially since there were only five blueberries in my bowl and plenty of room left, I was told that management has instructed staff to put no more than five blueberries in each bowl. They are not allowed to fill the bowls anymore. This is a lousy business practice, and it speaks volumes about how little you value your customers. There's a new açaí bowl establishment just miles away that offers BOGO days, a rewards program that actually counts, and bowls filled to the brim. You can keep your five blueberries. Now, once you're inside it feels kind of like a warehouse - maybe a little bit of Costco but smaller vibes. They have most of your staples, eggs, milk, cheese, etc. all at very good prices. I was a little let down though as they didn't have everything I needed so I still ended up at Price Chopper by the end of the day. Folks compare Aldi to Trader Joe's since they somewhat related in ownership, but I still way prefer TJ's to Aldis, it's just a more pleasant shopping experience to me as there are more fun seasonal items, and the store just feels a bit cleaner? I saw a woman pour a little bit of vinegar into a little paper cup and sip it straight, so in true monkey-see-monkey-do fashion I did the same. My first taste was the White Peach Balsamic. Forget everything you know about balsamic vinegar, stuff this good is on a different plane of existence altogether. Wow! So syrupy and brightly flavored I now understood the glaring lack of bread cubes. Who needs them? The White Peach was like jam. I was instantly thinking of pouring it over ice cream, or ... ? It turned my world upside down. My budget permitted a purchase of just one bottle this trip, but you can rest assured I will be coming back to add to my collection. If you're curious, I chose the Lime Jalepeno Balsamic as my first bottle. All I add is a little oil, salt & pepper and I have a salad dressing that knocks my socks off!
