Visited the SSHC Weymouth office on 7/22/26. There were many aspects of my visit that I…read moreappreciated. The office is tidy, organized, and I had no wait for my scheduled appointment. The audiologist, Casey Masi, was fantastic. She was both warm and knowledgeable. I had both an earwax removal and audiogram scheduled. I'd been informed when making the appointment that if the office "attempted" to remove the earwax and if there were none, that I'd still be charged the earwax removal fee ($65). When the audiologist sat me down to chat about what brought me into the office before the earwax removal, she quickly peered into my ears with the otoscope. She then told me that I had very little earwax, so she didn't think earwax removal was necessary. I decided to forgo the earwax removal at her suggestion, and we moved on to the audiogram. At the appointment, I was charged $65 for my "Office Visit," which is the description on my itemized receipt. I assumed it was in connection with my copay for the audiogram, as the earwax removal was deemed unnecessary. On 9/3/26, I receive an email with an invoice for $45 from South Shore Hearing Center, apparently related to the audiogram. I called the office on 9/4/26 to inquire about the multiple charges. Carolyn Greene, the receptionist, explained to me that even if the audiologist merely looked in my ears with an otoscope, that still qualified as an "attempt" to remove the earwax, so that was the initial charge for $65. This is an issue of principle: the charges for services that were not fully rendered are a bit deceptive. Please be wary of scheduling earwax removal with South Shore Hearing Center or any other services, as they have proven they are inclined to stretch the reasonable definition of "attempt" in order to nickel and dime their patients, some of whom may not have the means to pay $65.

I'm vacationing nearby and forgot my charger. A phone call to South Shore assured me that they…read morewould sell me a charger so I could hear the rest of the time I'm on vacation. The service was fast, professional, and polite. If you're local, I recommend this location to you for all your hearing needs. If you're from out of town, like me, you still might benefit from a visit.

Let's start off with three facts about me:…read more 1. I spend a lot of time in noisy places. 2. I like music. 3. I like my ears. so - what does 1 + 2 + 3 equal? Custom headphones. Oh yes. Custom baby. I got sick and tired of all the commercially available headphones out there - they're either too big, don't block enough noise, too uncomfortable, or suffer from any other massive problem. So I decided to have custom headphones made that were actually molded to fit my ear perfectly while also blocking off ambient noise. I called around to the local Westone dealers (as Westone is one of the major groups that do custom headphones) - and Audiology Services quoted me the cheapest price - $90. Apparently their main business is hearing aids - but they do these custom headphone molds as well. I went in and met one of the audiologists there, Gayle Nye (on a side note - I love that job title). Gayle was courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. Heck, we even share the same alma mater. Work was done quickly and well. If I had to complain about anything - it'd be that they quoted me $90, but when I came in they realized that the proper price was $100. They apologized for this, but it was still annoying. Even at that price they were more than $50 cheaper than the next cheapest group I spoke with. Highly recommended.

I brought my grandmother here when she was displeased with her current hearing aid setup. This was…read moreone of the "free testing appointments" but I was generally impressed and glad I went. It's obviously tailored towards the hearing impaired and making a sale but I found the doctor to be very friendly and extremely informative. He spoke to my grandmother and I with kindness but also with respect. More often then not a doctor will talk to the person who drove to the appointment instead of the patient. This did not happen on our visit. She was tested and fitted and all of her medical records had been received prior to her appointment which made this appointment extra informative and helpful for both her and I. I like this place because they offer follow up appointments, fittings, free batteries and someone to call when you aren't happy. Her previous hearing aid store fitted her and sent her on her way and never offered any sort of follow up opportunity. This is a problem if hearing loss fluctuates at all. She ended up purchasing a set and came back for a few follow up appointments. They have called to check up on her a few times which is a relief for the family because they can help more then we can. Plus this guy is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. A Longhorn fan is always a plus in my book!
