The food, which is full of flavour, light and fresh and not too oily (I find a lot of Thai restaurants use too much oil in their cooking). I order out here usually once a month and I always order the Vegetable Pad Thai Noodle which is delicious! My kids (who are exceptionally fussy eaters) absolutely love the Hor Tong (Golden Parcels), these are little deep fried pastry parcels filled with minced pork, crab meat, prawns, water chestnuts and bamboo shoots - they get gobbled up very quickly in my house. A meal for a family of four will cost around $40, this includes an entree and two mains (mains are around $16 each). The restaurant is decorated with traditional thai statues, natural timbers and earthy tones. It is great to dine in but I rarely have the time. Great food and good staff.

This is a local thai place around the corner from me. Albany Creek has a wonderful selection of…read moretakeaway restaurants and places to eat. We went to this thai restaurant having ordered takeaway from there a couple of times and we've been happy with the quality of the food previously, but never eaten in the restaurant itself. We decided to head down and eat inside. The interior has a nice thai feel about it. The decor is pretty standard thai restaurant decor. We chose one of the set menus where you get entrees, main and dessert. Sadly, the experience was not very good. The food while somewhat tasty, was extremely oily and prohibitively expensive. The price tag definitely doesn't match the quality of the food that we were served. Mains start around $20, we did the set menu and it was $27 per person which is seemingly good value. You get a lot of food, but it was extremely oily and overcooked. The seafood stirfry we got, the scallops were overcooked and the prawns were as well. Disappointing. There was only one other group in the restaurant, but it took forever to get our food. The guy even gave a couple of our meals to the other table. He did apologise, but he kept making mistakes and was more concerned with takeaway orders than us. They also forgot our dessert as well until we reminded them. All in all it took about 2 hours, we had a crying baby with us as well. The service was horrendous. With much better options in the area like the neighbouring Indian restaurant and Portabella, they really need to up their game for dine-in orders.

Magical Rice is magical. Well, it's pretty darn tasty…read more It's your typical food court Asian food - sushi rolls and sushi packs for a grab and go meal, or order off the menu. The menu has a few of the usual flavours - Katsu Curry, Katsu Don and Teriyaki. But they also had a few other interesting flavours you don't usually see in a food court like Sweet and Sour and Spicy Black Bean. I had the Spicy Black Bean beef and my friend had the Katsu Don chicken. My dish was really tasty and had a bit of heat, but I could have handled spicier. I guess for a food court meal this is spicy enough, and you can always add extra chili powder. Our meals were huge too, really good value for $9.90. Lots of beef, lots of rice and strangely, there was lettuce on my meal. I guess this is what makes the place "healthy" - lettuce on all the meals! The meals could easily be split between two people, we both couldn't finish ours. I would definitely eat there again. I hope to start seeing Magical Rice stores opening in all food courts around Brisbane.

Its pretty good value for money at Magical Rice…read more I got a katsu chicken and for under $10 and was pretty stoked to see all that crumbed-fried chicken goodness resting on my curry. It was a huge helping and so flavoursome that I had to stuff every last grain of rice into my belly. Later, perhaps it was from the sheer pace that I engulfed my meal, I started to get a little sore in the stomach. Non-the less, the food was fresh and well cooked and the staff very nice, probably because I may have been the first customer of the day. Maybe. Magical Rice is located on the edge off the market food court. In general the whole place very vacant. Initially, I was expecting to see a whole load of people down from the nearby work areas having lunch but no. I guess I was there at the wrong time.

The victim, Tokyo Holiday Sushi in the Arana Hills Plaza. I saw there was a line up and though that this was a good indication of the patronage. As soon as I got tho the counter I ordered a tuna roll and a chicken teriyaki roll. I walked off and began to bite into the tuna roll. It was not ok. The cucumber was not crisp and tasted like it had spent the whole day waiting to be found. The tuna was way to creamy, like they put too much mayo in it. I thought the Chicken roll would be much better. I bit a little from the top and looked at the congealed jelly-like sauce and grey chicken. Nothing was fresh, I could taste it. I had to throw it away. Now its was probably my bias against sushi, please give them a try, perhaps not in the later afternoons.

Don't get me wrong, their Sushi does taste nice, it just doesn't stand out compared to other Sushi establishments that I have visited. They sell the usual Sushi rolls that you find at most places, such as Chicken and Avocado, Tuna, Tempura Prawn etc. I believe that they also sell rice paper rolls and dim sims, though I haven't tried those here. Tokyo Holiday Sushi is located inside of the Arana Hills Plaza near Coles, so there is plenty of parking, and all of the food is reasonably priced. I would only recommend giving them a visit if you are already at Arana Hills and feel like some Sushi, it isn't really worth going out of your way to give them a visit.

You have the option of eating inside or outside, or taking the food to go. The store is always clean and never too busy, so it is pretty relaxing to sit down and eat your meal there. I recommend trying their Peri Peri Chicken sub on toasted flatbread, with avocado, your favourite salads, some jalapenos and a bit of mayonnaise. Other subs that I enjoy include their Chicken Schnitzel and Steak & Cheese subs. They often have different subs that are only available for a limited time, such as the Mexican Chicken Flatbread sub, though be sure to not get too attached! There is plenty of parking available out the front, and as with all Subway restaurants, the pricing is reasonably cheap. I definitely recommend giving them a visit if you are looking for a healthier fast food option or are a bit of a bread lover like myself.
