I spent 14 years of my life taking more medication as a child and teen than most elderly people take. That being said I will tell you why I love my doctor, Dr. Patterson. I am down to one, just one regular medication and she has even lowered the dose, and may even lower it again. Not only that but my Asthma is better than it has ever been. I might get a flare up once a year now. I drive several miles out of my way to see Dr. Patterson. There is a Baylor Center just five minutes from my apartment, but they have the same terrible doctors as the location on Clara Barton. I probably would have written off the entire Baylor system if it were for my doctor here. It's so refreshing to have a doctor who is not a glorified pill pusher. Also there only two docs here, Caudill, and Patterson. It's really a nice small practice, though it is tucked away in a weird industrial complex.

Dr. Patel is board certified in Family Medicine and she was nice and personable and seemed to know her stuff. I liked her and said we would definitely be back. The reason I'm not giving a 5-star review is because I was a bit trepidacious when I first booked the appt. over the phone but after all was said & done, I only have positive comments about my experience.

I've been to many doctor's offices over the course of my life and never have I had such horrible…read moreexperiences with the Lavon office. First, in order to refill prescriptions, they require you to come in every month, even for simple medications. I've never had to do that. I am use to going once or maybe twice a year for my yearly physical and a checkup (unless bloodwork came back wonky) but never have I been so inconvenienced in my life. I work six to seven days a week and it is extremely hard for me to take off of work that often. So being off of thyroid or migraine medication for any amount of time is not healthy at all. Second, they always, and I mean always, bill for the highest code they are allowed. The few times I've gone I always end up with a huge credit on my account that they roll over and pay for the next visit. That's all well and good, but is it necessary to double my cost each and every visit? Never had that happened before, either. Also, my wife tried it. Once. Complained the entire time. They wouldn't allow her to get in for a sick appointment (almost every general family practice always allows for a few sick appointments a day) so she wasn't able to get in for three days while she had the flu. When she finally got in, they did the same thing to her, billing her the highest code possible. She inquired into why they do that, as she has worked in billing for over a decade and knows the procedures inside and out, and they had absolutely no definitive answer and just gave her the runaround as to why. A few days later we spoke with our insurance company and even the representative stated that they should not be doing that, especially before the appointment has taken place. We are also getting a huge refund from the office because of it. They also sent her medication to the wrong pharmacy. When she went to our pharmacy to pick it up, they told her they didn't have any prescription in her name there. She called the office to see what happened and when she found out, she asked them to transfer it over to the right one. They refused, saying they couldn't cancel a prescription and call it in at a different location. That is false. Again, my wife was an office manager for years and did that exact thing when they would accidentally call in prescriptions to the wrong pharmacy. It's a little bit of work and could take up to 15 minutes to get it corrected. They were just being lazy and incompetent so we had to drive 12 miles out of our way in traffic in order to pick up the medication. The office staff at both of the offices are not very intelligent and have very shady practices. As far as the doctors, Dr. Greg Maul is a great communicative doctor. Very informative and seems like he knows what he's doing and cares about the patients health. Unfortunately, because of the staff, and the inconvenience this office is putting on me, I cannot say anything good (except the doctor himself) nor give a good review. This is my first bad review ever and I'm doing it because I feel like I need to get it out there.

Month after month no diagnosis for 7 months, diagnosed my specialist diagnosed me with two conditions. Because it took so long for diagnoses my condition went from stage 0 to stage 3. At stage 0 condition is easily treatable at sage 3 i is not. Doctor Bander even had to ask me how to fill out a prescription for my medical equipment. His PA knew what one of my illnesses was, but needed to look up the other.

She genuinely cared for me like I was her own daughter, and my parents and I are so thankful that I had the chance to meet her. I learned so much medicine from her, but more importantly, she taught me what kind of doctor I want to be. She showed me that being a good physician is about listening to your patients, educating them, understanding their lives, and always doing what is right for them. She is one of the most ethical, kind, patient, and caring doctors I have ever met. She is incredibly passionate about holistic and preventive medicine, especially metabolic health. She takes the time to teach her patients about nutrition, medications, and making healthier choices in their everyday lives. She truly practices what she teaches. She grows fresh herbs at the clinic and gardens at home, always finding ways to encourage her patients to eat better and take care of themselves. She also helped me personally change my own habits and take better care of myself, and I ended up losing weight. She listened to me and supported me through things in my personal life too. She cared about me as a person, not just as a medical student, and I will always be grateful for that. I had the opportunity to watch her work through complicated cases, recognize things that had been missed, and advocate relentlessly for her patients despite insurance or financial barriers. She taught me that medicine should never just be about money. It should be about caring for the person in front of you. Even after my rotation, I have heard so many times from her patients and other preceptors how lucky I was to learn from her. Her patients truly love and trust her, and I completely understand why. She listens to their stories, remembers the little things they tell her, and makes them feel genuinely heard. I still return to the clinic because I genuinely want to keep learning from her. I know that every time I am around her, I learn something new and become a better physician. My parents and I will always be grateful for Dr. Anamekwe.
