I recently joined LA Fitness (review coming later) and noticed the juice bar. Unfortunately, it was closed the first time we were there. Fortunately it was open today! My daughter and I decided to give it a try. We are VERY picky when it comes to edibles. Add to that, total customer service snobs. I believe in treating everyone with dignity and respect. While I can understand having the occasional bad day, so will give the benefit of the doubt as that can usually be countered with kindness, respect, and sometimes space. But, I have no patience with entitlement attitudes and rude behavior. That falls under my "why would anyone subject themselves to such treatment" or "perhaps if you're a masochist" thing, Thankfully, I very rarely encounter that! This was no exception, it was actually a very pleasant surprise! It covered my passion for "good for you" things. I am all about healthful living, well being, "take care of your body, it will take care of you," organic, natural, unprocessed, chemical free (as much as possible), etc. Full disclosure: While I have enjoyed occasional smoothies for years, I am a bit of a novice when it comes to the whole "juice for health" thing. Since I was unfamiliar with the menu, I wanted to get thoughts and recommendations. We were very fortunate in that the person helping us was the owner. She asked questions about what we were looking for and our tastes and made recommendations based on the information provided. My daughter got the Gogi Banana smoothie which I also ended up getting it for my son. it was amazing and they loved it. My son gave me a sip, and it was delicious! I got the Let's Glow "detox" Juice with a shot of ginger. It was very good, uplifting, and remarkably filling! I could almost hear (or feel) my body thanking me for it. She explained that she created the various creations herself and used organic ingredients. She obviously did a good amount of research on this and justifiably took pride in what she was doing. I have seen a decent amount of literature on juicing, cleanses, etc, but have had my doubts. I have tried cold pressed juices and blended juice smoothie type drinks. while pleasant tasting, overall, I was unimpressed. This was different though. It was flavorful, pleasant, and easy to drink. It actually made me feel a little more energetic and uplifted. I noticed my daughter and son also seemed to be a little uplifted as well which is not the "norm" for teenagers after a long day in school! Due to Covid lockdowns, my diet and figure have definitely suffered. Things that used to be contraband became free reign. If "feed a virus" is true. than, I should be virus free for the next decade or so. Aside from when I was pregnant, the "Covid 19" has been the most rapid weight gain since my "Freshman 15" in college! After a few sips, I felt refreshed, mildly energized, and uplifted which is quite a feat considering that I pulled an all nighter the night before! I tried to get a juice here and it did NOT go well. I asked the lady behind the counter if there was a juice she recommended based on a particular effect I wanted (anti inflammatory) and she went completely insane. First she asked me to come sit down and talk with her. I said no, I just want one single juice to-go. She sent someone else to go make my juice and asked how much money I was willing to spend. When I was hesitant, she gave me her card and said I needed to call her later. She said she needed to give me shots that would "make me go to the bathroom." I told her again I just wanted one juice. She reached under the counter and grabbed several cartons of juice. She started aggressively telling me I needed to do a 3 day detox and bringing up success stories about how much weight her clients have lost. I told her I didn't want to do a juice cleanse and I don't want to lose weight - just want ONE JUICE. She lunged across the counter to grab my arm and I jumped back. Since she couldn't reach me, she leaned across the counter and yelled "BUT YOU NEED TO LOSE WEIGHT LET ME TELL YOU WHY YOU NEED TO LOSE WEIGHT." At that point, I walked. I didn't want a cup of juice badly enough to let a stranger fat shame at top volume in the lobby of an LA Fitness. So....go here if you want a stranger to shout you into signing up for an expensive juice cleanse that she'll oversee over the phone while you tell her about your bathroom habits, I guess? The smoothie includes Pineapple, Mango, Banana, Orange juice, Probiotic Yogurt( which is HOMEMADE YUM!!! ), and Agave. All employees are super friendly and work efficient who always keeps their customers and myself 100% satisfied. The price doesn't matter when it's made healthy and fresh! This juice bar is located in the LA fitness. The LA fitness is on the lower level. You do not need to be a gym member to acres the juice bar. The fresh pressed juices are delicious. By far the best tasting I have had in this area. If you want to get it in a bottle versus a cup, it will cost you, FYI. The ginger shots are awesome and equally as fresh. They do it quickly and professionally. I usually do street parking, but there are a few options for paid parking lots. They also carry some interesting flavor profiles I have not seen at other juicers! read more

Their hours clearly state that they open at 9:00 am. I was in the neighborhood and excited to try one of their smoothies or juices, but when I arrived the place was empty and no one was around. I waited for 20 minutes until 9:20 and still, no one showed. I asked the folks at the front desk at L.A. Fitness but they said they were separate and couldn't help. Oh well. I don't know what the deal was but it tasted like water (probably all the ice) and was more of a smoothie icy-ish consistency rather than like a creamy texture. I think the lady making it was training or something...but yeah I'll stick to making my own. It makes my life easier knowing I can get a shake that has veggies and the proper amount of protein in it without too much sugar. Best juice bar. Their protein shakes are delicious. No chalky aftertaste . I usually get strawberry or chocolate protein with banana. YUM. The place is run by an actual nutritionist (Marcie), which is probably why they have the best and healthiest protein powder, menu, supplements, etc. I just ordered a one day juice cleanse. What? This is not even close to a legit juice bar. Because they had no smoothies with anything green, I asked for a smoothie subbing water for juice, and adding extra spinach and kale at their suggestion. There was no way there was any spinach or kale in it. I make lots of smoothies at home, and the smallest amount or spinach or kale is obvious by the color. My smoothie that should have been healthy and barely sweet based on the ingredients list looked and tasted like an extremely sugary dreamscicle. I threw it away and went to whole foods downstairs where they use real ingredients. Leaving an extra star in case their protein drinks aren't as disappointing. read more

I'm visiting my dad in DC for Memorial Day weekend, and being the compulsive gym rat that I am, I had to get in an hour on the treadmill despite promising myself that I'd take it easy this weekend. All of that to say: I've had my fair share of protein shakes. I ordered a Cookies and Cream protein shake with almond milk and banana. It was delightful!
