For the past few years since working from home full-time, I have been prioritizing self-care:…read moreconsistent movement, stretching, chiropractic care, sports therapy, acupuncture, facials, meditation, you name it! Unfortunately around the time I started full-time remote work, my massage spot at the time stopped taking my insurance. It has been challenging finding a provider that takes my insurance AND does not have a long waitlist. Anyways, a few months ago, I slightly pulled my back during our move to the new apt. I decided to try Elements Massage on Holman mainly due to its convenience of being close to home. I was scheduled to see Emily, and have been seeing her since then. What I appreciate about Emily is that she takes the time to educate you on not only the cause of pain and tension, but ways to improve your self-care at home: utilizing ice packs, stretches, salt soaks, etc. Incorporating these in my own routines has made a huge improvement in my post recovery workouts and back/neck tension. At my last session, I was feeling so tired that I told Emily I felt like I will pass out on the table. I let Emily do her magic and she delivered giving me nice, relaxing full-body massage. It was such a great treat, and a testimony, on how much my back/neck tension has improved in few months. I enjoyed it so much that I booked a 90 min session with Emily next month. While you can book single sessions, the membership at Elements is such a great deal. I went with the $99/month for one 60 min session which can carry over, gift to a friend, or you can pay a little extra to extend the time. Honestly, this is one of the best investments you can do for your body and I couldn't be more enthusiastic to recommend Elements Massage.

I have been coming to this place for a few years. I have been to really high-end massages (such as…read moreElaia Spa or Little Red Day Spa) - but they are difficult to get in with last minute and are very expensive. This place always has same day availability, which is wonderful, and is not nearly as expensive as high-end places which makes this an ideal choice for "oh god, I'm hurting, I need a massage" quick fixes. I usually get a couple's hot stone massage here with my partner - so getting in last minute in extremely impressive because its accommodating two people, two massage therapists, and having a couple's massage room. The massages we get are great - the hot stones are wonderful; the massages are targeted and helpful.

She was visibly upset and I was taken aback by this reaction. I usually tip 15% to 20% but this time she cut five minutes off the session and did not help me put my socks and shoes back on, which she usually did. I am a disabled veteran and bending is sometimes difficult for me. As a result, I will not be going here any more. I have two other places I can go to and never get an angry reaction like that because of a tip. Perhaps Helen did not understand that a tip is always optional and not required. Perhaps her supervisor will teach her that so that Evergreen Tree doesn't lose any more clients.

The massage was merely mediocre at best. 1. I made the…read moreappointment online the day before. When I arrived 5 min before my appointed time, the person who met me at the door had no idea I had an appointment. She had to call someone to verify. That can be forgiven as simple oversite. 2. During the entire massage, people kept coming in and she had to go help them. Again, this is fine except she left the door open. 3. Most of the foot massage was just vigorous rubbing. There was no reflexology, no pointed work on different parts of my feet or leg muscles. The best part of the massage was the 5 min at the beginning and at the end when she simply put her body weight on me to stretch or relieve pressure. 4. At the end when I paid, she insisted I give a 20% tip because she "took great care" in my massage. I work in the service industry. You NEVER demand a tip. How ridiculous!! She was lucky I gave the tip I did based on the service I received. I will NEVER go back here again and would never recommend this place to anyone.

She listens to what you are looking for (if your shoulders have been stiff, or if you want a relaxing massage that day), she's really strong, and very skilled at making knotty muscles behave! I love that I can ask her for the sciencey-answer to what she's doing or what muscles are locked up; it empowers me to learn more about my body and how to care for it afterwards! The spa itself offers convenient online booking, it's very clean and peaceful (and looks down onto the ocean!), and their customer service is top notch. I use their Wellness Plan option, which offers a year of monthly massage appointments for a slight discount. Love it!! I hope this place stays here forever. And the fact that it's right beside the ocean means that if you want to continue relaxing after your massage, you can just walk downstairs and sit on the beach.

I left pretty disappointed. 5 Stars facial -- The facial was awesome. The esthetician was so sweet and bubbly. She explained what was going to happen and her positive energy alone was 5+++ Stars. I would go back solely for future facials with her :) The massage: it was by a girl named Jennifer. After reading the reviews I'm saddens that I got a newbie vs. Marisa. It was the worst massage I have ever gotten. When the masseuse came in to meet me after I had spoken to the esthetician she was not warm - and bland. I told her I wanted deep tissue & to not be gentle. It started off ok, but as she got further along I thought "did I pay for a massage or merely to be inadequately rubbed with lotion". You know the massage isn't great when you're left laying there wondering when it's going to be over and it feeling like it's taking forever.
