Customer service has really gotten bad when you have employees being disrespectful to potential costumers. New Freeport local from Oceanside, called this pharmacy since cvs is saying my medication won't be available for weeks. Called this pharmacy as I called many pharmacy's. This pharmacist says she is not taking anyone else for "her list" and you can only have medications filled when they receive the medication and only the ones on her list. I said that seems unfair, the woman pharmacist responded "would it make me a better person if I refill medications based on a first come first serve and constantly get new patients" I mean I didn't know this was allowed to only supply to patients you put on a list and decide who can go on it but the least anyone can do is BE KIND. I don't understand why costumer service has gone so badly and so many small pharmacy's have gone out of business but it probably starts with being kind to the community. read more

This place used to be friendly and helpful and it made you feel good shopping there because you were supporting a small local business. Not anymore. Today I called looking for a product. A kid answered, checked and had it in stock. I said great, I'll be there in 15 minutes. He never said to me that I better hurry because they close at 2pm. Never. I show up at 2pm and parked. I was at the door by 2:01 and a very masculine woman was at the door saying that they are closed. I explained that I just called and the boy never said anything about what time they closed. I just needed one quick item. Anyway, the masculine woman was completely unapologetic and said again that they were closed and she couldn't help me. No point in supporting a small local business when they act like a large uncaring chain. CVS, here I come. read more

Some business people need more than one opportunity to establish a great reputation. Others - like the people at Health Mart - simply exude a friendly and helpful character. I'd previously been a CVS acolyte, not out of any special loyalty, but simply due to their ubiquity. This changed with a recent health scare my wife experienced. I ran all over the Oceanside/Baldwin/Freeport area looking for a pharmacy which carried what I thought to be a fairly common piece of medical equipment. And after my fourth mega-pharmacy visit, it dawned on me. CVS, Walgreens, Rite-Aid and the like are not in the pharmacy business. They are nothing more than convenience stores which fill prescriptions. Finally, after giving up nearly all hope of finding what I needed, I stopped into this small store and was immediately greeted by a young man behind the counter who eagerly and sincerely asked if I needed assistance. In a mega pharmacy, you can barely get the clerks to put down their cell phones long enough to look at you, let alone do it with authenticity. This man directed me to the pharmacist, a middle aged woman who patiently went through the THREE options of the equipment I needed. After going through all the features, she told me to go with the cheapest one since the primary functions of all three were basically the same. When I returned home that night, I told my wife we were moving all our prescriptions to Health Mart. No looking back. read more

I have no words to describe the level of incompetence of the pharmacy staff. My doctor sent an electronic prescription for an oral antibiotic. After a few days I stopped by to get it. A woman in the pharmacy said that she had no record of the order. The office manager at my doctors office assured me that it was sent. I called and the same woman told me that they did not carry the antibiotic because it was an old one that is not used very often. When I asked if it could be ordered she said no it couldn't because it is only sold in large quantities and there would be too much left over. I said so that's why you didn't fill the prescription that was sent over and that you guys should have just called me to say that. She said that the doctors office should have received an error message regarding the order. I said so you did receive the order? and after all that she still denied that they ever received the order. 2nd Experience A woman from HealthMart Pharmacy, who later said that she was the pharmacist, called me and said "I need to speak to the patient ______". Really!? The "patient" she was referring to was my teenage son. She said that they couldn't fill his prescription. I said ok when will it be ready? She said that they don't carry that drug. I was confused because I just picked up "that drug" from them a few days earlier. I informed her of such and she said that they don't carry "his" drug. Now I was really confused. I told her that I was a RN so that she could speak freely to me in medical terms. I said ok so you don't carry 20 mg capsules. She said no we don't carry it at all. I said can't you order it and she said no we don't carry it. She got loud and bothered the way people act when they are caught in a lie or when they are trying to hide the the fact that they don't know what they are talking about. I went to the pharmacy to see if I could speak to a true medical professional and I took my medication bottle with me to show that I had the same drug in a different strength from there. I am a seasoned RN with 20+ years of experience who worked most of my career in the ICU and ER so when it comes to talking about drugs you have to bring your A game to talk to me. When I got there the same women came flashing a print out of the prescription saying "See, this is what I was talking about, this drug we don't carry" and she said "Adderal". There is no way on God's green earth that that person was a pharmacist! Absolutely no way! At best she was a glorified pharmacy tech. We spoke a bit further before I demanded to speak with someone who spoke my language, medical language. A man from the back came and explained that they do not carry 20mg. I said ok so you only carry 25mg and he said no. I said so where did I get this from and pulled out the 25mg capsules that I picked up earlier in the week. He said that they filled it with what they had left in stock but they don't carry it. I told him that that when I ordered it that I had to wait a few days to get it because they did not have it in stock and had to order it. He looks down at the computer and says oh I have a few people on that dose so that's why we ordered it. What?! I said ok so you do carry 25mg but you just don't carry 20mg and you can't order it. He said no we don't carry this drug at all. This is the level of BS that is served up there. All to say this is not a real pharmacy at all. Sure they are "nice" but what good is nice when people don't know what they are doing, can't explain themselves, and waste your precious time in the process. This seems to be a great place to by greeting cards and to play lotto but if you need a real pharmacist/pharmacy then by all means go elsewhere. read more

I've been coming to Health Mart to purchase CBD OILS. I've spent over $500.00. The last CBD oil I purchased, the tubing was defective. I spent over $80.00. It bent and when I went to use it, everything leaked out. I was so upset. After work I went to the pharmacy to tell them and maybe I would be able to get a discount on another purchase. I was told I have to speak to Scott. Scott leaves at 5pm and I'm still at work. I was also told the item is nonrefundable. They could of cared less because they already have my money. I've been filling my prescriptions here for a little over 2 years & I've never had a problem. The staff is extemely warm & friendly and I always feel welcome d every time I come here. The only improvements I would like to see is the overall organization of the store. It can be a little messy at times & my first time every buying something from here, I bought a candy car & it was expired. That turned me off from purchasing from the store, I just get my prescriptions & leave now. read more

If you were not there its hard to believe. But its true. There are no words to describe how I was treated. I had just come from the Dr and was in severe pain. I have had trouble with the pharmacy getting my prescription filled in a timely manner. On occasion I have had to return more than once before they got it filled when they claimed. Also I must say that I have not been treated with any degree of courtesy by certain employees. I was made to feel as if they were doing me a favor. I have since found a better pharmacy where they seem to appreciate my business. read more

Health mart reminds me of the old mom and pop stores when i was a kid growing up in Brooklyn. All of the employees are friendly and professional. They call you when you are ready for a re-fill, they always have the time to talk to you prescription related or other. I felt that i needed to tell everyone about this local business because we all spread negativity around but never take the time to tell everyone about something good.
