My scheduled covid test for Sunday at 9:30 AM.
    Nicole M.

I never imagined feeling the need to write a review about a pharmacy, but the service I received this morning needs to be shared. Yesterday I scheduled a PCR covid test and the soonest available day/time was at this Walgreens. I scheduled a drive through test for today at 9:30 AM. When I show up at 9:30 AM, the lights are off inside the pharmacy and the shade was lowered. I waited about 10 minutes then had a feeling something was wrong so I checked the hours online and it said the pharmacy didn't open until 10:00 AM on Sundays. I thought it was unusual that the online system allowed me to schedule a 9:30 appointment but it wasn't a big deal and I decided to wait. I sat at the window in my car for 30 minutes until they opened at 10:00. After they opened, someone came to the window and asked how they could help me, I explained that I had a 9:30 appointment but didn't realize they weren't open until 10:00. He said, yes we don't open until 10 and asked me to hold on a few seconds. He then comes back to the window and informs me that since my appointment was at 9:30 and it is now after 10:00, he can't help me because he has other customers to tend to and if I wanted to be seen, I had to come back at 2:00. I was a little surprised by his response. I explained to him that I understand that it isn't his fault that the computer let me schedule an appointment for 9:30 when they open at 10:00 but it isn't my fault either and it isn't right that I was being sent away after scheduling an appointment, showing up at my scheduled time, and waiting 30 minutes to be seen. He insisted that he couldn't help me and I needed to come back at 2:00 if I wanted to be helped. After driving away, I called to speak to the pharmacy manager to voice my concerns about the fact that if the pharmacy opens at 10:00 on Sundays, that means the online system is allowing patients to schedule 9:30 and 9:45 drive through covid tests every week and I wanted to make sure they were aware of that. I also wanted to make sure that if I came back at 2:00 without technically having a scheduled appointment, that I wouldn't be turned away like I had earlier in the morning. After being on hold for over 20 minutes, I gave up. It wasn't worth my time. Ultimately, I found somewhere else to get my test. I've worked in retail for 10 years. I don't agree with the statement "the customer is always right" but there is absolutely a wrong way to treat a customer and that was the treatment I received this morning. The Walgreens pharmacy of Oceanside clearly does not care about how they treat their customers nor do they answer their phones. And if they do care, the behavior of their employees does not reflect those values and better training needs to be implemented. Such a shame, I will not be returning.

The owner, Judy, had to step in because Stacey was so rude and unprofessional. Buying a luxury brush should be a fun and wonderful experience. Several years ago, I was gifted a $110+ Mason Pearson hairbrush. It was sent to me through a reputable online store, who I confirmed was an official distributor of this "luxury" product. I seldom used the brush because despite its price tag, it didn't work for my hair. When I was purging items in storage recently, I discovered this brush and saw it had a cracked rubber bristle pad, which was pretty disappointing considering the mega-price on this thing, and the fact that I never used it. Upon contacting Mason Pearson for warranty claims (they don't offer any), I was directed to Harry D. Koenig & Co. for all issues. In email correspondence with Koenig Co., I first had to prove my brush was real, and was then encouraged to send it in for repair. I was told by Koenig Co. that the manufacturer may be able to fix the cracked rubber bristle pad for free. However, a few weeks later I was offered the repair if I chose to pay $55 for it. No thanks, since I never use it. I got the brush back as is, no repair. They gave me a new box and new cleaner brush for it, which was very courteous. At least I got something for my postage and time. But Mason Pearson def was not about to cover me on the cracking of their rubber. All in all, Koenig Co. was professional but email was sometimes delayed. They definitely know what they're doing if you cherish your Mason Pearson products and want to spend money on their upkeep. Just not for me.

They told me I could come up and up to me if I wanted to fill the paperwork in my car or in the waiting room. I should have opted for the car, I will take personal responsibility for this. Regardless though, there were questionable covid practices. Please see my list below: -There were quite a number of people in the waiting room. There were no markers on chairs on where to sit. I simply stood and moved around the whole time. At one point there were so many people in there you could not sit 6 feet apart! -There was a patient in the room who kept opting to wear his mask on his chin. I had to ask the staff twice to speak to him. They seemed uncomfortable doing so- like wait, you should keep all of us safe? -While they took temperatures, it was ONLY once you were to enter the back area. So wait, you're telling me I can stay in the waiting room with sick people for 45+ min and then BOOM you figure out they have a temperature before getting to your area? -The wait was 45+ minutes...like COME ON. Give a heads up, tell patients to wait in their car. - I honestly cannot even remember if they had hand sanitizer out! Luckily, i had my own..along with my own pen and mask. At least I can protect myself if a drs. office cannot. I did not find safety was their top priority. I still have much anxiety a few days later and will likely get myself tested to be on the safe side. Thanks, but no, thanks. I will not be back in 1 year for a check-up. I shall be finding a safer and clean practice.
