I had thought my prior acupuncture experiences were fine, but walking into this space was a step into the clouds. The front desk is immediate upon walk in and there are some activities to get you in your zen state until your appointment. Regarding the treatment, they take extreme measures to make sure you are blocked from noise and can focus on yourself and maintaining a calm space and surrounding. I've never been so at peace that I can fall asleep in five minutes. I'm so appreciative of Transformational Acupuncture and Dr.Hanna.

Visited Geeta out of recommendation from YELP and a mutual friend on Facebook…read more I have been dealing with horrible migraines and excessive sweating. After one treatment, I noticed almost instant reduction of pain and temperature. She was very gentle and the room was totally relaxing and clean. Geeta asked very specific questions, in addition to the questionnaire that you have to fill out before you arrive, to try to get to the root of my ailments. She offered explanations and suggestions and not in a "here is what you have to do to/take it or leave it" kind of way. She was very calming from start to finish. I've always been a believer of eastern medicine and I felt some relief after the first visit. I am looking forward to future treatments to regain balance and being pain free in my life.

I knew I needed to get a massage, but I've tried a few places in Capitol Hill previously and the massages were not great. Thus, I expanded my search bubble and found Unwind AdMo, and I'm glad I did!!! Nina gave me the best massage I've ever had - her technique was amazing, I was never uncomfortable, she focused on the right spots to get those tight knots out, and she made me feel very comfortable. Pricing was right on par for DC too. I will always come to Unwind Wellness now - even though it's ~40 minutes by metro/walking away, compared to some local spots I could be at in 5 minutes. I'm even nervous to try their Unwind Navy Yard location...because I only want massages from Nina, she's that good.

If you're looking for massage therapists who actually do real work, this is the place. I've seen both Helen and Heajin, and they are exceptional in different but complementary ways. Helen is incredible for deep tissue, especially hip work. She goes deep, she's effective, and she is not afraid to work through tension. This is not a light, spa-style massage. It's therapeutic, intentional, and results-driven. Exactly what I want. Heajin specializes in Thai and lymphatic massage, and she is phenomenal. Thai massage is more like assisted stretching, and she incorporates it beautifully. She also took time to explain lymphatic flow, gave me tips on how to support it at home, and clearly cares about long-term wellbeing, not just the session itself. One thing to note: at Unwind, therapists may get on the table with you, especially for Thai or deep tissue work. That's part of the technique and something to be aware of if you're new to that style, but for me it speaks to how seriously they take proper body mechanics and effectiveness. The space is calm, professional, and welcoming, and the level of skill here is outstanding. If you want thoughtful, strong, therapeutic massage from practitioners who really know the body, I highly recommend Unwind.

He was not pushy with his opinions, but was very honest in his assessment. He explained what he was doing when he placed the needles. I will definitely be going back - already made my appointment! I also appreciate the sliding scale pay system. He did not inquire about my finances, and I appreciate that sort of honor system.

Excellent excelling excellence…read more I used to go to a community acupuncture center in Oakland ca while I lived there. I searched the DMV and found nothing, so on a trip back to the Bay Area I visited my old acupuncturist and he recommended this place. What a Gem! First its inexpensive, you pay a rate of your choosing (donation based) the scale is from $20-$40. Second the acupuncturist that is always working is a kind soft spoken, yet knowledgeable lady. Third the atmosphere is relaxing and inviting. And most of all I find that it works for my ailments. Once you go and have your intake all the rest of the appointments are simple. They recommend making an online appointment, the system is very user friendly. But I believe if you walk in during hours that aren't busy, you will have luck as well. I always make an online appointment usually the day of, and have no issues. So I recommend this place if you are into community and health.

Treatment is customizable to you, both between traditional medicine and acupuncture, and within the treatment itself. Adjustments are made along the way to ensure you're receiving the best care. Hoyoon Chong is a patient and caring practitioner who clearly gets joy out of what he's doing. He's good at both listening to patients and explaining treatment methods, and his overall bedside manner is very cheerful. I've never felt rushed during the sessions. I've also enjoyed learning more from him about traditional Eastern medicine and how it differs from or is similar to Western medicine. He does a good job of explaining how both can work together and benefit from each other. The office staff here is excellent as well. My insurance can be tricky to process, but it was processed quickly here with no issues or delays. I also appreciate how friendly and kind the staff are every time I arrive.
