My regular GP continued to tell me to "eat better and get more exercise" but never got to the root of the problem. When GLP-1's became a way for him to make a little extra money, my GP - the guy who refused to even talk about weight loss medications by the way (except for Medifast, which tastes like you're licking the ground) decided to offer them to his patients. Desperate to get my numbers under control, I paid $1500 for 4 months of shots. I spent the first 8 weeks with no side-effects, that I knew of, the exhaustion I felt was horendous, couldn't work out and then the nausea set in - add the two of those together, the inability to get up and not eat, I was a slug. My GP didn't have a check-in shchedule, and I was not given any advice on how to do the GLP-1 successfully. Which, if you're wondering, I wasn't at first. I didn't lose any weight until my 12th week - right after Dr. Dae and I had our 1st conversation. The first thing she suggested was blood work. Once the bloodwork came back, we had an in depth conversation about what was happening inside my body, making it harder for me to lose weight on the GLP-1. Under her supervision, I started fasting from 8pm until 11am. This helped with the insulin resistance, and just like that - the weight started to come off. I've lost 13 lbs in 20 weeks. Yep, a slow process for sure, but I chalk that up to having a bad start and no guidance. I've started getting up earlier, feeling better, and I now ride my stationary bike everyday (did you know you can make a street bicycle into a stationary bike to save some money and get some exercise?!) and when the weather is right, I take the dog for a walk, sometimes twice a day. My hot-flashes are non-existent as well (hopefully I didn't just jinx myself)! I only have 23 more pounds to lose and to be honest, I would never have figured this out on my own - it's been the partnership I have with Dr. Dae that has made me as successful as I am.

I trust his expertise completely - he is an encyclopedia of herbal medicine. And naturopathic medicine is my primary care. I've recommended him to my own family and friends.

I would wake up in the mornings with newly swollen joints. I had a hard time walking in the mornings because so many parts of my body were in pain - my feet, knees, back at one point, fingers (could no longer make a fist or open jars or hold a dumbbell), my wrists, my elbows. I would hobble in to the bathroom and take a hot shower, which helped a bit. Western medicine had no answers for me - no clear diagnosis and no clear treatment although the rheumatologist I saw tried to persuade me to do steroids and cortisone shots (after declaring that I looked like an athlete in great shape with nothing wrong with me even as I was showing him fingers that were swollen). I wasn't down for either because I was clear that neither was a cure. I remembered a naturopath I had seen maybe five or six years prior who ordered several blood tests, and after careful review, told me that I had strong markers for rheumatoid arthritis. Both my primary care physician and Dr. Amen proceeded with my treatment as if it were rheumatoid arthritis. The only official diagnosis I got was that it was an auto-immune polyarthritic condition. I learned later that auto immune conditions present differently, which might have been part of the difficulty in diagnosing. Also, by the time I saw the rheumatologist, I had already begun working with Dr. Amen. I was skeptical with Dr. Amen at first (somewhat frustrated by the initial cost of the visit), but he convinced me to stick with it, explaining that the work he does isn't like Western medicine or a pill that works right away. Plus, he said that we could effectively eliminate all or almost all of my symptoms. I was persuaded, and over my time with them, I've made a lot of choices that have helped me achieve that goal of actual healing. I sometimes have a few pains here and there (almost all in my feet and all of which disappear after a few weeks as I keep working with Wisdom Path), and I can't wear heels anymore, but I am fully mobile and don't experience the multiple joint inflammation through which I suffered when I first started with them. I also work out regularly and became vegan. Wisdom Healing Path aided in that transition with the cooking classes that Na'Amana leads. I knew how to cook, but I needed more options. That was key in my shift to veganism. It's been about five to six years that I've been vegan. I cheated the first few years but after several strange responses to eating animal products, the last straw of which was styes and cholazeans on my eyes, I accepted that animals aren't good for me to consume. All of the work I've done with Wisdom Healing Path has fixed or significantly diminished several physical ailments I was suffering, in addition to the rheumatoid arthritis - a persistent pain in my side, eczema, hot flashes, IBS, migraine headaches, and eventually the cholazeans on my eyes. I highly recommend Wisdom Path Healing Center. On one of my early visits, Dr. Amen said something to me to the effect of, "We can cure this. If you get rid of more than 95% of symptoms, I don't know what a cure is." In my time with him, we have gotten rid of probably 99% of the arthritis and 100% of the migraines, side pains, IBS, and eczema. I now see the cost as an investment in myself. It's worth it. My only image of rheumatoid arthritis was a cousin who was wheelchair bound for all of her adult life since her early 20s. I wasn't prepared for that, so I was happy to work with them and to see significant changes in a relatively short period of time. It's a family business, and so I have watched the children grow, and all of the adults know me and my life. It's the best healthcare I receive.

I originally reached out to Udim at Sunny…read moreTherapeutics because there were some things nagging me about my how my body was functioning that were disregarded or misunderstood by chiropractors, physical therapists, medical specialists, personal trainers, the list goes on. I'd sought care for this in so many settings and through so many channels. I had reached the end of my rope with no one really listening to me or hearing me, I was in debilitating pain with chronic headaches, and then enter Udim. She immediately 'got it' and I've been working with her ever since, for going on 8 months. Udim didn't come at me with a plan or a structure, she developed it all by listening to me and by sending what my body needed, hence why I say she is intuitive. Each session is customized to what's going on with me and where Udim can help. Through therapy and reprocessing trauma, I knew how much the body stores and 'knows.' Working with Udim has helped me truly start to connect the mind-body-spirit piece so that I can understand the full picture and work towards wellness in a more holistic way. Pain isn't just pain, anxiety isn't just anxiety. When my body feels these things, there's a reason and it's telling me to listen and care for my body, mind, and spiritual needs better. Working with Udim is teaching me this. And lowering my chronic pain and mostly eliminating my headaches in the process. Beyond working with me on some functional body things, Udim has even worked with me through some chronic health concerns that I've had for 30 or more years. I've had surgeries to address symptomatic issues that haven't actually helped me in the long term. Udim has been able to address these concerns in a non-invasive, gentle way and truly works to get to the root issue, not just the surface symptomatic issue. Literally I can't say it enough, Udim is amazing. A truly sunny being, a lightworker. It's a joy to work with her and be her client. I will be seeing her for a while to continue to unfold all the layers of what is stored up in my body. So grateful to her that I'm finally learning how to hear my body and be present with it.

On the evening of the Sunny Therapeutics event I came about 8:30pm. I parked my car down the block and walked around to the safe expansive well designed backyard. Who knew I would be there for the next 5 hours. The event was to officially end when people head home. By 2:15am I stood up to leave. I wasn't the only one. There was structure....with writing down our intentions ice breaker game and then there was good food Inside the house. Even though I got there 2 hours after the initial start there was still some food and drinks. Want to open your chakras? There was a chakra breathing demonstration led by Precious MotherLove. Sit down when doing because you can become light headed. Last but not least were the intriguing conversations around the fire pit. I don't think people wanted it to end. There were a couple vendors there as well so bring a little cash or save for something nice. Not to mention....I was relaxing and looking up at the night sky (not often do I just relax and look up!). I guess I just talked about my night but going back to the people I met. I'm following up. They will follow up and I know for sure we will all be back next month with a friend. I can't begin to say enough positive things about Laura!…read more However, I will start with, she is an amazing, gifted healer! From the moment I met her, she presented herself with a welcoming, kind, compassionate and calming presence. She truly listens and hears what your issues and concerns are! I had been diagnosed with a sprained rotator cuff, which was not only painful and limiting, but draining me of my energy! Although I love my primary care doc, his solution was to put me on heavy duty anti-inflammatory meds, which can be hard on your liver and have side-effects as well! I am not a stranger to acupuncture and was able to get an appt near where I live... I was fortunate enough to be seen by Laura.:) I had recently lost my husband, which Laura took into account with compassion, as well as my injury. I hope I am stating this correctly, but she explained that grieving can also contribute to the injury healing and that you hold grief in the left side of your body... the sprain is in my left side. Laura started with a 'clearing'... which I can only explain as "getting rid of my junk" ... I felt revived when leaving that day! I continued to see her for several more appts. I'm happy to say that my shoulder has improved 100% from when I had my first treatment, as well as other issues I had been having! Now for some gentle strengthening exercises. ;) I will continue to see Laura for monthly overall maintenance. I know there is more 'JUNK' to work on! ;) THANK YOU LAURA ROSE, you were, and are, a Godsend to me at a very difficult time in my life... Angels are watching over me! :)
