I was surprised to hear it had been around for 12 years! I don't know how I didn't know about it before today. I actually found it through a free trial of ClassPass. I liked how many different time slots the offer. This summer, my daughter ins in camp, so I have little chunks of free time that never seem to work out with most studios. This one had an 11 AM class (in addition to lots of other morning and evening options as well!) Sign me up, I said! The vibe was down to earth and welcoming from the start. It's in an adorable old building and up a flight of stairs with a mural of a tree to your left. There's a ton of natural light in the studio, almost as if you're in a treehouse. The owner, Paula, introduced herself to me and struck up an authentic conversation. She also introduced me to the teacher, Emily. Emily was great--her pace was just right for me as a person who hasn't practiced in a while. She also had a camera going as they're offering Zoom classes as well. Later I heard they also did outdoor classes throughout the pandemic as well as prenatal and postnatal classes. I wish I'd found them sooner!

I tried Hot Yoga Tyson's and unfortunately, the vibe just wasn't there for me…read more Before class even started, the instructor asked if I had done hot yoga before. I shared that I've practiced hot yoga many times at CorePower Yoga, but he immediately shut that down by saying they're "not the same." After actually taking the class, I don't agree, between the temperature, humidity, and sequence of movements, it felt very similar. The dismissive response rubbed me the wrong way and honestly made me less excited going into what was supposed to be my first 60-minute class with him. The studio itself also felt pretty old and dingy. It doesn't have the modern, clean, welcoming feel that I'm used to at CorePower. Overall, it seemed to cater more toward an older crowd and a very traditional, no-frills hot yoga style. Personally, I missed the motivating and encouraging energy from instructors, as well as the music and upbeat atmosphere that make classes feel more engaging for me. This studio might work well for people who prefer a very classic, straightforward hot yoga experience, but it just wasn't the right fit for me.

I came here using a 7-day pass…read more Unfortunately, I didn't realize that the 7 days is effective as soon as the pass is emailed. Upon signing up for the 7 day pass, I received a text from Amir. Luckily, he was flexible and let me come at the end of March. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by Isaac, who was extremely friendly and informative. We went through the entire walk through, and on my 2nd visit, he went over the prices. The only thing I didn't like is that they take down all the information from our Driver's License even if it's just a trial. Since this is considered a boutique gym, the classes are the main focus and driver for memberships. They get crazy busy and packed, but are only held at certain times of the day..and not Friday evenings. The classes include (but with different names): yoga, boxing, cycling and CS4. I was only able take one class--Ride with Lauren--and WOW it was fun and vibrant! I came back another day for leg day to try out the equipment. I was very fascinated by the TechnoGym equipment--beautiful, unique machines and all in pristine condition. There were SO MANY options for upper, lower, cardio, etc. Additionally, there is a separate cross fit area, where they hold classes and it is open to members. There is a recovery section, which includes compression sleeves, cryotherapy and massage chairs, which are convenient but I believe separate from the monthly gym membership. Also, there is a spa, whcih is definitely 3rd party and not included in the monthly membership. There is 2 hour parking available in the garage, which is validated at the front desk.

I've been to a few classes here - like Arlington, it depends on who your instructor is but I'd say I like the Arlington instructors better. That said, many teach here, too, so you can catch them. Also, there have rarely been waitlists at this location for classes compared to Arlington which is now seemingly always full. The showers here feel super small and I'm not sure if the saunas are co-ed or not. The locker room set-up is odd and I didn't want to risk being seen naked by entering into a sauna where men could also go. I'll explore next time I'm clothed. Parking is free when validated but is usually pretty easy. I think the manager who worked there last year and was a nightmare is gone, so everyone I interacted with was super nice.

Love that there's decent parking here, though, one time I pulled up and it was a bit full but spots immediately opened like 10-20 before class when another class let out. My one critique: the changing room. Dear god. I went in here a few weeks aback and thought I was going to die. It was soooo unclean and there was so much hair and shoes all over. Sigh. But I'll be back!

As soon as you walk in, they ask you for your name to check in and then direct you to one of the two studios in which the class will be taking place. The studios were very clean and well maintained. There were lights lining the floor around the room. I'm not sure if this was for the holidays or if this was a permanent lighting.... But it was still nice! I loved that the classes were held in the dark... With the just the lighting along the floor. The the two classes I attended were in the evening, candlelight one was R&b music. The other one was rap music. I'm not going to lie, the music with lyrics is very distracting when it comes to yoga! Especially because the music was pretty loud and the yoga instructor did not use a microphone. As soon as Ginuwine "Differences" and Anoop Dogg "Drop it like it's hot" came on, yoga was over for me LOL. I like that they offer locks at the front...for free, but I had my own lock. They can be returned either in the basket in the bathrooms or at the front. They also provide other toiletries and sanitary products. Also, for first timers, they provide a mat for free which is then returned at the end of the class. There's parking surrounding the building but it can get a little tight. Would I return? Sure, absolutely if it fits my schedule!

Also, bending and stretching my body in to multiple scary looking poses was not my idea of relaxing/workout/finding my inner self/ etc. But having been learned and practiced yoga with Gaurav has completely changed that for me. He is the epitome of what a true yoga instructor/guru should be. He help me confront my prejudices/ fears of yoga with a calm and balanced approach by gently introducing me to the various poses and breathing techniques! He was aware of my limitations and worked with that so that I gradually became comfortable with all the breathing exercises and asanas without heading to the door! Not to say that I did not feel the physical pains of using my body and muscle groups in new ways, but the "high" at the end of each session was worth the effort. I looked forward to my next session at the end of each session! Gaurav is well versed in all the techniques and shares his knowledge in easy to follow steps. I highly recommend him as an instructor especially if you have never done yoga before or are not sure on what the correct techniques are. For the experienced yogis, Gaurav would be a perfect coach to take your training to the next level. His knowledge of food options to go along with the yoga routines was very helpful too!
