Warning: do not enter if you are claustrophobic. This is an interesting little spot. I'm sure it's great for the locals in the area but compared to the selections in the area - it leaves much to be desired. I'm judging mostly on atmosphere here because I had an iced tea - no coffee. This is the worlds most narrow coffee shop. Seriously. Whatever your picturing right now- it's smaller than that. The outdoor space could be lovely but it's junky looking and uncomfortable. I waited for my tea for 45 minutes and it never came. I was with a client so I couldn't go check on it. When we walked inside the barista handed me my tea along with a handful of free drip coffee cards and an apology. Nice gesture for sure but I'm not sure I'll be back. They have 8th and roast coffee and Vegan Vee pastries. Everything looked delicious. Great selection of tea - just an awkward atmosphere. read more

As a newly transferred West Nashville resident, I've been severely missing a locally sourced coffee shop. Back in East Nashville, I could throw a frisbee any direction and hit a coffee shop over there... So, Headquarters is a welcome establishment in my book. It looks to be part of the overall revamp of Charlotte Pike that seems to be in its very early stages. Headquarters reminds me of coffee shops in New York... So, not much seating and a small menu of drinks and pastries (complements of Dozen). Cool and quaint though to keep that Nashville charm. It looks like their star is the spicy mocha as they were out of some of the ingredients on my visit. But the caramel latte was still pretty tasty. I'm pretty sure my barista was new to the game, so I have a feeling a good drink can only get better. I'm looking forward to trying their own HQ blend from Roast next time I'm there. They also carry a good selection of tea from High Garden. Excited to head back soon for the spicy mocha! read more

I was coming through Nashville on a road trip a couple weeks back, and Headquarters came up in a search for coffee. Now I'm all about my coffee, and I'm also all about small biz, and I'm especially about good vibes and being cozy. Headquarters covers all of it. Despite some previous comments about the space lacking in size and not being a good work or social environment, I contrarily found Headquarters to be just right: quaint and sincere; a stark contrast from those hideous, bright, homogeneous commercial coffee houses laden with whirring laptops and drained minds that seem to be infecting so many awesome towns across the states. I stayed for over an hour thumbing through the weekly (not sure if I should mention the name of the paper), chatting with a few locals as well as the staff about the history/building process of the store and was fascinated by all the clever DIY skills that the owners utilized in creating this space. Awesome vibes, friendly people, and excellent brew. Don't miss Headquarters. read more

So glad this place opened up right down the road from me! Been missing a local coffee shop in West Nashville and Headquarters definitely fits the bill. The coffee is good and they have the same tea selection as most of the other places in town. One complaint is they don't have iced coffee (iced Americano is the closest they get, not quite the same.) Free wifi and it's usually really quiet, so it can be a great place to get work done. Really hope it works out for these guys! read more

To be fair, I didn't try any fancier drinks, so this review doesn't represent the tastiness that may or may not exist in the rest of their offerings, but I CAN confidently say that their drip coffee is horrendous. Like gross. I'm pretty all over the place with coffee and don't have an affinity towards a specific store or brand, but the coffee here made me want to shudder. How do you mess up drip coffee? Aesthetically, the place left a lot to be desired. This place is tiny tiny tiny and narrow. About three tables on top of each other when you walk in and that's it for seating. They have one (albeit junky) table outdoors, but it's literally right on Charlotte, as in the road is 4 feet from you, so traffic is pretty loud and way too close for anyone to feel relaxed. Nothing here really made me want to come back, so I don't think I'll be returning. read more

It's pretty good. A nice atmosphere, the floor vibrates in a weird way. The coffee/ hot chocolate is great, but it's more of a take out kinda place. EDIT: as I have learned, the floor no longer vibrates. read more

Really enjoyed HQ! The house drip is AMAZING. I usually go for something darker but this sounded really good. They were helpful in finding me something I was in the mood for. My fiance enjoyed a tasty hot chocolate and a blueberry muffin. They also carry Dozen's Gluten Free baked goods (allergy note: most had almond flour/paste). I live downtown and ventured out to Sylvan Park; I wouldn't normally, but I was tempted to try this new place using a Scoutmob deal. The space is small and cozy but comfortable. This was a tiny coffee place, which is all fine and dandy but there was barely room to walk around and wait for my drink! That being said, my drink was good (cinnamon brown sugar latte) but the barista barely said two words to us and I just didn't get a good, friendly, relaxing vibe from this place like I would want in a coffee shop. I am still looking for the ideal coffee shop in Nashville where I can get some homework done or just hang out and feel comfortable. If this is on my way somewhere I will stop by, but I'm not interested in any special trips. read more

My favorite coffee shop of all time. Awesome vibes, great baristas, wonderful coffee, delicious tea, good location, and a nice snack selection (plus local eggs! and growlers of their yummy coffee!). They also carry skin care products, stationary, trinkets, art, etc. mostly made locally. It's teeny tiny but they have a few tables and an awesome patio. It's all around great. Ordered the local honey latte advertised on the chalkboard outside. Loved the relaxed and laid back atmosphere of homey wood, comfortable seating, and gentle professionalism. The guy working behind the counter was friendly, polite, and quick. The latte tasted like it should with a hint of honey. It was not overpowering or sweet, for which I was thankful. Nested right off of Charlotte, a lot of people don't even know this shop is even there! Great coffee and tea - prices are a little higher than normal, but they definitely use better quality ingredients to make up for it (i.e. natural mil, local products, and High Garden Tea). Fan of Firepot Chai? They have it! Every time I've visited the barista has been personable, helpful, and genuinely interested and getting to know customers. My only critique is that there is such limited seating. I'm not much of a 'grab and go' coffee consumer - I like to sit and enjoy in a mug. There are 4(ish?) tables and 2 bar seats in the front. This is my favorite coffee shop in Nashville. I am a real native Nashvillian and this little nook is the type of space you want to see in Nashville as it grows. It's an organic and authentic expression of what this place (Nashville) is about! I love the drip coffee here, it does the job of waking you up and getting you out the door! They also serve a proper espresso And if I have a bit more time I will order a cappuccino and enjoy this space that although is small is cozy and comfortable. This is truly a real coffee shop.
