Don't go to this place unless you want to get ringworm. I've spent already thousands of dollars having to treat my animals due to the fact it spread around the house from a simple one time haircut. The barber was contacted about this when it happened and simply apologized, offering a "free" haircut in return. Very unprofessional, unsanitary, and just wrong. read more

Headquarters Barber Shop - Short Combover with a line - Barbers Near Me - Salinas, California

These individuals think only their time is valuable and treat you like you are getting a FREE haircut. Twice I've made appointments with Favian and he "forgets" and takes other people instead or like today, he just kept cutting different buddies of his hair. When I had a 3:30 appointment and he didn't end up haveing time to cut mine. After more than 45 minutes waiting. Didn't apologize or anything just like the last time. Don't waist your time or money here unless you want to receive bad customer service and enter a bad business environment. read more

I had an important interview at 6pm so i booked a haircut with Arturo at 3pm a couple days before. He texts me at noon 3 hours before our appointment telling me he won't make it. I ask if anyone else can help me out and gives me the number to the shop to ask them. He gives me an incomplete refund and states it's a paypal issue and an apology for the inconvenience. His text messages were unprofessional filled with "bro". I go to paypal for the rest of the refund, and he sends me a text at midnight that if i ever book with him again he will cancel and keep my deposit. Very unprofessional all around. read more

Decided it was time to get my hair back together and I needed a barber who knew what they were doing. I came into this spot and knew right away they did. They welcomed me as soon as I came in the door and I had a chair in less than a minute. They have a super chill vibe and the interior looks really cool, be sure to check out the walls. My barber was Bryon/Brian? He was great, he knew exactly what I wanted without me having to like walk him through it. Which is rare these days. My hair was shaped up in no time. Not to mention when I said I wanted a design he actually put thought into it to make sure it was something that would fit me. All in all, I will definitely be returning and telling my friends. I am glad I came here. read more

I went there for the first time. I just did a walk - in and Arturo gave me a cut. He did a good job doing a mid fade. I will definitely go back there read more

Unprofessional, I scheduled an appointment a day ahead of time and when I went in they said that there was no appointment and that I could come in on Saturday. I have a tight schedule and need my appointments to be on time. If you don't like your time being wasted don't go. I am new to the area and had never been to the shop before when I called they scheduled the appointment when I showed up they told me they don't take phone appointments, only online. They lost a lifelong customer. Edit, Response from the shop which reeks of unprofessionalism. Hey man it ain't write to leave a bad review like that when it was miscommunication on ur part. We have online booking we usually dont book through phone. If u continue to talk down on us and our shop we will definitely press the issue read more

5 stars for sure. Arturo hooked it up. After not having my haircut for 2 months due to the stuff going on he did a solid high fade to a shave. I have been to the other barbers here (Ronz and fabian) and always leave looking clean. Kickback atmosphere where you can just relax and know you are going to be taken care of. I wont go anywhere else in salinas for a cut. Headquarters is where it is at. read more

Ever since my teenage son has been getting a comb over with his new barber, Gary, at Headquarters he has been looking sharp! Located in a little plaza, this shop shares a small parking lot next to a Filipino marketplace and a restaurant. It can get crowded, but there is plenty of street parking. Price is reasonable and I highly recommend making an appointment. Place gets very busy since the best barbers in town are here! read more

I'm giving them 3 stars only because my elderly dad was happy with the barber (Victor) who took care of him. Victor was patient, respectful, and was joking with my elderly dad. There customer service is poor. When we walked in, there were 2 barbers working and one customer waiting (customer #1). We walked in, I said hello and no one answered back. The 2 barbers were Victor and a short Asian barber. After we were there about 15 minutes, a another customer (customer #3) walked in and clearly he was a regular of the short Asian barber although from their interaction it was clear he didn't have an appointment. Customer #3 asked the short Asian barber if he he was getting his hair cut after customer #1. Short Asian barber says "Yeah" completely disregarding my dad who was technically next in line. When short Asian barber is done cutting customer #1 he waves customer #3 to his chair (Victor is still working on a customer) and when I say "My dad's been waiting" short Asian barber doesn't even give me eye contact. He looks at Victor who says, "Yeah I'll see him." My dad gave Victor a 42% tip. Incidentally, short Asian barber was rude to a woman who walked in with her son for a haircut too. My tip for his is this, learn some customer service. read more

I heard great things about this barber shop so I came in wanting to try it. I asked the barber an inch off the top and razor high fade on the sides. The fade wasn't bad it was actually good (had better). But the dissapointement was when he literally gave me a buzz cut on the top. He buzzed my entire hair on the top that I can no longer do the comb-over. Now I have to wait a few months to grow it back how I had it. If of you have short hair and that's your intention to keep it that way good barber shop, but if you don't want to lose your mid to long hair don't come here (guarantee they'll cut it off). Friendly people though read more

CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE!!!!! When I walked in if DID NOT feel exited about getting a hair cut . Don't go here. You'd rather go to great clips. Making appointments is pointless since it still takes a very long time to get a cut.

Honestly you Guys are full of ego, i walked in and asked for a haircut. None of you wanted to cut my hair and there was like 2 guys on they're phone with a empty chair. All the barbers here are full of it. I Don't recommend this spot. I just felt disrespected sitting there. Waiting. Hella akward. If you don't know any of these guys personally, expect to get the cold shoulder. Don't come here expecting a friendly environment. read more

Absolutely zero customer service. Walk-ins are pretty much unwelcome and are left waiting for hours. I guess barber talent and customer service is rare around Salinas. Do not recommend unless you have hours to spend. read more

I'm sure these guys know how to cut hair because they always have customers but they don't have good customer service. When I came in none of the barbers even looked at me or greeted me. When I finished with my haircut the barber did an ok job but left loose hair all over my ears. My wife took our son there and walked right out because they just ignored her. They are lucky they are in small Salinas where there is not much competition because they would have gone out of business by now! read more

You get one star only because some barbers do cut decent. The customer service is horrific! If you do not have an appointment do not bother going in. They will make you wait for hours. This is definitely not a place for small children. They drink when it's close to closing time. Play really inappropriate music and some very suspicious transactions happen in plain sight. read more

Been here a few times and every single time has been disappointing. Making an appointment is pointless here, I still had to wait 30 min to an hour just for a haircut, that I was in time for. It seems as if people they just like to cut the people they know. I was a new customer and they did nothing to keep me. As well as really bad customer service. read more

I recently moved back to Salinas and was searching for a place to get a quality fade. After extensive research, it seemed that HQ was the place to go nowadays in town. I know barbershops like this place can get really busy, so I planned ahead and called to schedule an appointment. The haircut I received was up to par (nothing special), and I had no complaints. However, since my initial haircut there, it has become virtually impossible to schedule an appointment. I always call in advance and inquire about availability, but it seems none of the barbers are ever available and are "all booked up for the day." There is never any effort by staff to accommodate me regarding scheduling an appointment. It's as simple as everyone is booked - end of story. Furthermore, the one time that I was able to get an appointment, I got the vibe that the barbers at this business give preferential treatment to the people they know. I arrived 15 minutes early for my appointment and wasn't seen until 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. Another customer walked in 10 minutes after me, walked up to the barber who I had an appointment with, shook his hand, and then sat down. The barber then tells me that he forgot about the appointment he had scheduled with the aforementioned customer and that I would have to wait a little longer. In the meantime, my wife is parked out front with our children and my youngest (she was six months old at the time) was having a tantrum. If I didn't need the haircut badly, I would've walked out in a heartbeat. My money is green like everyone else's, yet this place doesn't seem to care. They better hope fades never go out of style. read more

I'm not a "Hater" but this is the worst Barbershop in Salinas. The barbers are rude and they hate new people. I made an appointment the other day and got there on time but they had me wait for 2 hours smh. Also, the barber that cut my hair was rude and rushed my haircut. I will never go here again. These guys are new barbers and most likely unlicensed. Also by the looks of their shop they don't disinfect their clippers or razors so BE CAREFULL!!!! read more

I was just in here this afternoon. Had an appointment with Victor. First thing I noticed was how young all the guys were. I'm used to older barbers. No matter. These guys were good. I was watching all the others while Victor was busy on me. The place is quite popular. I made an appointment, so didn't wait long, but they had a steady stream of walk-ins while I was there, so you've been warned. Victor did a great job!! I was extremely pleased, and the price was EXTREMELY reasonable, which contributed to his 66% tip! I'll definitely be back! read more

Good barbers, you do have to wait for a haircut but only because the barbers are truly talented. I think that's what people don't get. Obviously if a place is empty then it's skeptical. But this place is always busy for a reason. Ask for Brian, Jp, Fabian and/or Mimi. You won't be disappointed read more
